    Box build for 2 15s or 4 12s!

Well for sake of money, I think I want to go with the 2 15s and the box will be my own which is pretty cool. I have a model in Google Sketchup, and I would really like to use a single 10 inch flared aeroport. I can't seem to find any tho. Once I calculate displacement of the woofers and the port, I seem to end up with a box around 7-7.2 cubes, and if I had a 10inch aeroport, about 17 inches long I would have a tuning around 33-35hz which is exactly what I am looking for. I just really dont know where to buy an aeroport. ALSO, the 10 inch port comes to about 5.5 inches from the wall and even closer to the floor and roof, is that to close? Also, the displacement for for the 10 inch aeroport is about .7 cubes, as apposed to 4, 6 inch aeroports, for that tuning which would take up about 2 cubes. Recommended Optimal airspace is 7 cubes for 2 SSA ICON 15s. **With 10 inch aeroport** = 7.1 cubes (Great but I cant find a 10 inch port) & (the 17 inch port length is 5.5 inches from the back wall) **With 8 inch aeroport** = 7.6 cubes (Is this to much airspace with too little port?) **With 2 6in. aeroports** = 7.5 cubes (Still to much airspace with too little port?) If I raise the number of 6 inch aeroports, the length becomes to long for the box and I can't do it, but which of these options seems best. The 10 and the 2 6's seem to be what I need to do. Which one?

    Soundqubed Box recommendations

How is 4cubes (after displacment) with a 6inch Aero port for 2 12s? 2 cubes per sub. Tuned to around 35hz btw.
  3. two 12s should be louder and still keep just about the same quality. Thats what I would go for.

    Quick Question!!!!

I currently have 2 Sundown E-12s in the Trunk (Dual 4ohm) wired down to 1ohm on the amplifier. (1700rms at 1ohm) I am going to pick up my old Kicker CVR10s (Dual 2ohm) and put them in my backseats... Is there ANY way I can hook up the 2 10s to the amplifier for added bass? It would only be for a day or so, but just for fun. I just want to know how I should wire the 2 10s to get the most out of my amp. Thank you!

    Quick Question!!!!

Gotcha...not doing it. The kickers were my old subs, and not as loud as the new 12s. I was just picking them up tomorrow to transport them to sell. And was wondering if i could hook them up real quick just for the day. Not a problem, thank you.

    Quick Question!!!!

I did, But I put in 2 subs for 4ohm and it came out as either 2ohm or 8ohm even tho it should be 1ohm...So I dont know what im doing there I guess. And I would be okay with running all 4 subs on 1ohm. 1700rms, it only needs 1600 (400 each sub) and maybe even at 2ohms but im afriad that might lower the bass with all the power its losing.

    HDS200

Dangercdv, Two 12's would be perfect in 4^ft! Anything smaller and you risk chuffing the woofers. So should I reverse mount just to be safe? to keep all 4 cubic feet?

    HDS200

I want to run 2 of these in a ported box with a 6 inch aeroport, tuned at 34hz. The box will be about 4cubes without displacement of the subs, is this good enough? I really want to run 2 15s but I am not sure about the airspace needed for that. These are crazy cheap!

    New subwoofers, or no?

What I have right now.... 2 Sundown E-12s (400rms version) Hooked up to a 1700.1 Hifonics Amplifier at 1 ohm. Inside of a custom box made for the Ford Mustang Convertible, .9 each sub, sealed. Well, isnt that too much power? yes it is! So obviously the gain is way down. My question, Would I benefit from switching the subwoofers to something that can handle more power? The problem: If I do get new subwoofers, the mounting depth can be NO MORE than 6.5 inches.

    New subwoofers, or no?

When I get an SUV yes, I still have another year tho. Im thinking either the Ford Explorer Sport, Jeep Cherokee, or Jeep Grand Cherokee

    New subwoofers, or no?

I like the loudness of the store boxes, but I have allot of songs around 30hz, and I cant stand the way it sounds, so I will settle on the 32hz

    New subwoofers, or no?

IT will be the Khaotic Dual 12s that they sell on this site, so I hope its good for that price.

    New subwoofers, or no?

Would I be happy with 2 icon 12s in a khatoic enclosure in my next setup then, im sick of re buying.

    New subwoofers, or no?

okay, so getting like, an 800rms subwoofer wont really give me much more? What is the point of buying 1000rms subwoofers and 2000 rms amp, if you can get like, 400rms subwoofers, and an 800 watt amp, and save a bunch of money that way. Serious question. Even tho, I myself really want to get big setups with tons of power.

Sony 720 rms home sound system!

Here is my 720 rms Sony sound system in action. The volume is on 10 of 30 so it can get much louder than what the video shows, this is just a quick over view of the system.

    SUV setup

Soon I will be getting an SUV, and I need some ideas. I want some loud bass thats impressive but not like competition grade i guess. My idea for a setup is Enclosure: http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/ported-dual-12-subwoofer-enclosure.html Amp: my current amp, 1700 rms at 1ohm. Subs: maybe 2 SA-12s wired to 1ohm. I was wondering if maybe 2 Gcons or Icons would be better in that box, or maybe two sealed SA-15s in a different box. Or one sick 18 sealed, just help me out here. Im trying to save space and dont want a huge box. Just send me some ideas please. I just want the most bass for my space, and money.

    SUV setup

Okay, but my amp is only 1700rms, and the box is: http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/ported-dual-12-subwoofer-enclosure.html So icons? I could always get a new, more powerful amp as well. I am thinking about getting Icons now.

    SUV setup

well both are going in the back of an SUV and there really is no preference, I also want to have the ability to turn up and really impress but for the most part have a loud but quality sound system.
