Ive had my 15" in a 4 cu/ft box ported to 28hz My friend has his XXX in a 3 cu/ft box to 34 hz I like his cuz it hits the lows nicely without distorting. My prob with the 28 hz at 4 cu.ft was some songs sounded horrible. What box would sound the best and get the lowest for rap music?

alright so 3.5 cu/ft tuned to what hz?

not sure, I got a part of the batch that was logoless and shortly after SI got robbed of all of them( AGAIN yes I paid, ask Nick) Hows 2.75 cu/ft after displacement ported to 34 HZ sound ? Who here can design me a box :-) ill pay

As I mentioned a few threads down, my sub sounded like it was blown or there was a really bad air leak. One of the coils comes in at 2 ohms and the other is at 17-32 ohms. Look at the pics below of this coil, has this ever happened before????? The lead that was intersown came loose and where it was sown in, there is now a rip This is me pushing down to try to show just how bad the rip is. What exactly happened here?

I have an audio meet to attend to this weekend on saturday so my question is 1) If I play the sub, will it do any damage to my amp with 1 coil blown 2) Is there any way I can do a very TEMP repair on it before I bring it in for a recone? ( Im talking very temp...slilicone on the tear type of deal) If I do this, will Nick still recone it. I just dont have the $150+ at the moment for a cone nor the time 3) Does the tear and everything get fixed when i send in for a recone?

if you look in the first pic, you can see just how big the rip is in the "spyder?" (not sure what that is called the tensel lead in woven into) This is the set that is coming in at crazy ohms....not sure if the rip had to do anything with it

Im getting my older SI reconned since its blown. My question is, whats the BEST for a 15" SI sealed? What airspace before displacment would yield best results?

Hmm my current box is at 2.5 after displacement.....I wonder why the coils blew. After I went from ported to sealed, is there anything I should have changed on the amp? Turn the SSF off?

Well, one of the coils on my mag are blown. Shortly after putting my sub from ported to sealed, I hear danggg danngg when the bass hit hard and I tested both coils...one reads 2 ohms, the other reads anywhere from 14-22 ohms. How much does it cost to get this fixed ? Ive had it for 2 years now, I bought it when the new mags were comin out and they were logoless (no it wasnt stolen, I have receipts from paypal where I sent Nick the $$). Can anyone help? Thanks

Right now I have a SI d2 15" thats logoless. How much would it cost to get the motor replaced with one of the brand new ones? How much is a brand new sub?

I have 2 mags 15" that is about to be installed in my explorer. Each mag is going to be fed by a hifonics 1500. What kind of box should I build for these two sub? How big and what should it be tuned to. I listen to rap mostly so I was thinking 35 hz but how big should I make it?

I was on sounddomain.com reading a thread on the XXX subwoofers and how people were building these snail shell boxes for them. They were saying how the sub got crazy loud and its the best ever. Has anyone here put their sub in a snail shell and listened to how it sounded? Anyone got plans so I can try this?

Well ive been to flea markets and bought viynal logos but it still lookes like chit. I need something painted on. Is there anyway SI can send me a template so I can go somewhere and get something painted on? I have no idea what I can do and its driving me crazy cuz everyone looks at my trunk and says "What a plain sub" But the rest of mytrunk looks great

Well its official. For X-mas I am asking mommy and daddy to buy me another Hifonics 1500 amp and SI D2 15. I already have 1 of each right now but want to upgrade. I plan on giving each sub 4 cu/ft and port each to say 34 hertz? (Wanna score high in comps as well as keep it clean for a daily driver) The whole trunk is going to be a box, the subs will fire towards the rear with the 3 amps (2 sub amps and hifonics 2 chan) mounted ontop the box in a "suspended" setup. (Pole holding up a slab of plexi glass and the amps mounted on the glass). The whole box will be covered in gray viynl to match the gray carpet Across the front by the amps I will have a peice of plexi glass and a blue neon behind it will light up the SI logo. My questions are: How well are the 15's going to sound at 34hz in 4cu/ft? I have em in a 4cu/ft box rite now at 28 hertz but I want it deeper/louder yet still sounding clean. When are the new SI 15" subs coming out? Before XMAS? Also the sub I have now is logoless, do you have any logoless subs I can buy that will match my other sub since I am showing this off?

Resonant frequency of the explorer is around 51...but you should play with it between 48-53....results may vary of course... Tune your box a couple hz below the resonant frequency and DOO IT... PS...if you only want one box....you'll need an adjustable port....OR you can use aeroports and just cap them for daily...get crazy nice transients ....but with a 34hz tune for the comps....you won't get past the 1st round in the lanes.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> so i should tune my box around say 51 hz to get the max and i might just use some aeroports for when I need it in daily driving, most of the comps around here are street comps at local bass shows. Nothing big. Alotta people around here have RE, eD, audiobahn, rockford, JL and I wanna show em whats up wit the SI subs when do the next batch of D2's come out for people to order <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if i remember correctly, tune around 44-46 Hz, play about 53Hz when you burp. a slot port will do good, and it still gets nasty low, super loud, and sounds really good for daily use. you can find a way to seal it off, but thats just no fun. but then again, i have very limited knowledge about competing with an explorer <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lol didnt you have a red explorer with 4 subs in the back or was that someome else so a mag in 4 cubs tuned to 42 hertz wud b good for daily?

I have a 1999 ford explorer. I have no idea what the fs of the car is I wish I could build 2 diff boxes but this box is also going to be a show box so its going to be pretty permanent in there and bolted down to the frame for antitheft reasons

Thats right, my 15" SID2 does not have a logo, but fear not I bought it legit from Nick. I really wish it had a logo on it tho and all the stickers I get done from the local sticker shop sucks real bad. Is there any way I can ship the sub back to SI and get a logo put on the basket?

I thought it was decided that the final name for the subwoofer was the SID2 or the D2? maybe I read wrong? Honestly I think the name D2 or SID2 sounds good and mean. Put like Stereo Integry in fancy letters then below it in bigger print put D2
