yes...i could. i was just wondering if there was a way to cut it half or something...if i split it down the center would it do the same as having both sides....freq. and effect wise...

Double stacked magnets. Amp used: Cadence A7hc - 1200w rms @ 1ohm SQ / Box used: 3cu' tuned to 28Hz I have been playing around with the sub for the two months now. At first I though the SQ was awful. After using different box designs, and it got broken in, my final conclusion is that for an SPL driver the SQ is not that bad. I have my amp X-over set to 250Hz. The higher tone bass is slightly distorted and laking, but if you want smooth lows it has plenty of room to spare. Another nice thing about this driver is that the extreme lows (>30Hz) can get really loud with out a lot of cone excursion. For this reason, the 1000w rms becomes more like 1500w rms. (Remember the box) SPL / Box used 4.5cu' tuned to 46Hz I figured that there was no way that the PBX could duplicate what my 15" Brahma could do; I was wrong. In this box their numbers are identical. It seemed like there was no bottoming out when I would play low frequency bass songs. The Brahma would never be able to handle this for long play (aprox. 30min.) as the PBX did. I think that the power rating is greatly underrated and that it is a great compitition sub. Over all - 1 through 5 SQ - 4 SPL - 4.5 Top View. i love my cadence a7....they don't make it anymore but you should look into their other models.

Well, I thought I'd pop in to say hey..so..."HEY"..lol. I know it's been a long time since i've been on here but i had a lot going on. we bought a new house last june and i have been working in the basement ever since. didn't compete last year at all. i think i've only done a hand full of installs. well, i feel the need to hang out and get back in the swing of things so here i am...i'll browse the threads now....

thanks for the welcome backs, guys, it has been awhile. my basement system will be pretty neat, not done yet. i plan on using the RLp-12, logoless, that i got from mike, that is still in a box in my garage! i have 2 sets of dayton in way 8" 3 ways and a pair of 5 1/4" dayton in wall 2 way w/ separate volume control in the bathroom. working on the amp and source unit set up as i go here....i'll keep ya posted on it.

i used to work at a body shop and we did rustproofing/undercoating with that stuff...only in a 55gal. drum and a special spray gun. it took like 76545294234 days for it to dry and i never got rid of the smell. as for your break light issue, can you remove it? in my state there is no law that requires you have one so i just removed it. that egg-crate foam padding works really well to if your looking for additional cheap deadening.

it would sound the same because they are tuned to the same freq. just wouldn't take as much power to move them in the larger box.

OK, recently, somehow, I got links on my desk top that I did not put there. (some travel, poker, printer crrtridge, bingo, casino, web hosting...) I can not move these icons. When I right click on them I don't get a option menu either so I can't delete then that way. Now I have noticed that when I sit down at my computer all my desk top icons are rearranged. Can someone explain what's going on? I run Norton weekly, I am fire walled and use 2 different pop-up blockers. I have no idea how this happened. Nothing new in my start menu and also nothing new in my add/remove programs file. Help!!!! I'm going crazy!!!!

Working on a project and I need to find out how the computer and USB actually work together. What is between the USB port and the circuit board? How does the computer actually receive/send the info.? mainly I'm looking for pictures, diagrams, drawings....something to show the relation ship between the two.

If you want to peak at the res. freq. then tune the box ~10Hz lower than the res. freq.

Looking for an amp to power my soon-to-come SS RL-p12. I found a Digital Audio amp that didn't look too bad. Just wondering if anyone has/had any experience with them. The key thing here is I also need a two channel (75 x 2 - 100 x 2) that matches. (I found a 75 x 2 Digital Audio also.) I am also leaning towards the Directed 750d and 300/2.

I was loading the parameters into WinISD and noticed that there is no SPL parameter. Is it safe to just use the default one provided by WinISD? (I got 87.59 for a 12" RL-p) Also the paramenters on the site do not distinguish between 2 and 4 ohm subs. I don't think that the RE for both is 3.8. I have heard that these subs are very compairable to the Brahma. Compairing the curve on WinISD, inputing the same box size and freq., there is a big difference in performance, possibly due to the parameters I put in. Anyone got a flash light? Hey Mike, since these are a DIY sub, it might be kinda neat to have the drivers for WinISD, LEAP, BBP and other popular programs downloadable on the site.

I can 110% agree with you on that. I like Diamond Audio and Image Dynamics but, his team deal that we get from him is not what i would call, worth it. I dont think im gonna support Rich and his shop much longer. Hes been getting on my case about why im not scoring loud, cutting down some of my friends (IE James Hegemann, the one that biult my last box) and just his overall racist attitude. I just picked up an RE XXX 12" for $150 and when i told him I have my sub for next year he asked "what is it?" I told him and then hes like "oh, its cheap then if you got it for only $150 or its blown" So for now im gonna be looking for another place to store my stuff at. Once i do that, rich will no longer be my place to shop for car audio. I think i do better without him and find better deals on my own. I do not wanna lose touch with you though, You're a pretty cool guy just not around a whole lot. Rich bad mouthed 1 too many friends of mine so at this point, id rather not deal with him. Right now dont go telling him this......i dont wanna deal with this situation right now. I wont bring up anything to him about your plans either. P.S. I have to look out for my wallet....no one else will. I am getting a pair of Diamond 6.5's comps. w/ the hex tweets for the front and he will be installing a remote start in the next few weeks. I do think I am going with the Directed amps....
