  1. I have two kicker comp q 12’s dual 4ohm and looking at two different amps , the kicker cxa 1800.1 and the D’Amore engineering E1500.1 . Love the idea of the E1500 but I feel like the kicker would be better power wise just not sure .
  2. The kicker having a fixed sub sonic filter at 25hz 24db slope , the E1500 has an adjustable SSF with a 12db slope. My enclosure is tuned to 35hz . Just don’t want to have any issues with playing to far below tuning.
  3. With my components the crossover has -3, 0 and +3 dB what do most people use? I will be right at the sets rms maybe a little over but not by much.
  4. Do newer models have a newer version of Bluetooth that has better SQ/bandwidth? I know I have seen some new models that even have wireless car play that works over WiFi from the head unit I’m just curious if the sound quality is better?
  5. I have an iPhone 11 and using Apple Music and Spotify free Trial and in streaming over Bluetooth HU is an older pioneer probably 4 years old . Non CarPlay . The music doesn’t sound as full to me , am I crazy or is there an actual difference? I hate the thought of having to plug my phone in every time so I haven’t even tried the phone wired.. but when I swap back to music on my usb stick omg sounds so much cleaner.
  6. Don’t see how it’s safe to the wattage. And very low Ah compared to yinlong for the price. Over priced because D4S.
  7. All my previous amps have had a ssf with a 24db slope I have set 1/2 octave below tuning. My new amp has 12db slope and is 2000 watts more power than my old amp . My tuning is at 33hz on two sundown U10 putting 2500 to each sub so would best bet be to set the ssf at the tuning?
  8. ok so running a sundown sfb 5000 on two X12's right now i have skyhigh 12 ga ofc to each sub from the amp so maybe 3 feet of wire to each d4 sub. is 12ga ok or should i use larger say 10ga i have not really hammered hard on it yet.
  9. Ok putting two 10’s in a ported box subs and port are on same side of the box . Car is a hatchback Scion tC . What would be the best way to face the box?

Subs what direction to face box!

So I have been playing around with it today. Lpf at 80hz with box facing the back is a little louder but damn I have a rattle that is damn near louder than the bass is Wallop of a sound. Can’t figure out where it’s coming from. Thinking about trying the box firing up now . With the subs and port both firing on the back of the car is just asking for this extra rattle. The back and hatch sky high sound Deading.

Subs what direction to face box!

So if they do roll off before is it going to sound bad or just not benefit from it? Right now the lpf is set at 63hz and would like a little more punch bass that you feel in the chest. Is that possible with the set up? Some people telling me I need to raise the lpf to 80 to 100hz .... the components in the front is high passed @100hz also.

Subs what direction to face box!

True ... my box has a bandwidth of 24hz to 63hz tuning @32hz but I’m just like damn it’s 10’s could I not benefit from a little higher lpf say 80 to 90hz or would setting that high just be pointless due to my box bandwidth?

Subs what direction to face box!

What did you find the best lpf setting to be in the car?

Subs what direction to face box!

    Any luck yet man?
  16. Ok so I already have the box it’s 2.5 cubes net per sub. I’m trying to see what specs would be most important for sealed . From what I’m taking lower f3 is important. Currently looking at sundown sa15’s and incriminator audio lethal injection 15 .
  17. Anyone know when we might see a revamp of the punch line? They been on the same run for years now . Would love to see them go back to the 90's style with the spruce paper cones loved that sound and look..would be amazing to see a O.G company get back to roots of the hobby. I'm honestly sick of all these new kids with the same ol cookie cutter everything.
  18. Say we have a sub like a kicker cvr , kickers prefab package they sell is with the subs at a bare minimum on air space 1.75 cubes and tuned around 40 to 42hz . Say we take the subs put into a larger box with 2.25 cubes still with same tuning would you gain anything?
  19. So what would be the gained response with a larger box but with the same tuning? I'm more formiliar with a sealed box type , where a larger box will bring out more low end but from what I know about a ported box is from what I take is you will suffer below tuning . Will the larger spec box allow the sub to play lower pasted tuning vs a smaller one?
  20. Ok so running two rockford p3 15's 2.5 cubic per sub still within Rockford specs of 1.86 to 3.0 cubes. Subs are d2 wired on a RF T1500BDCP at 2ohm so subs seeing a few hundred watts over rms should I be ok with subsonic off? Amps filter is 28hz with a 12db slope . A few people said because I went with closer to the large side I should use the filter but I'm not sure I lose a lot of low end with it on .
  21. So how many people with the power amps or even punch amps use the punch eq ? I see Rockford and even JL audio kinda push this rebranding of bass boost but do people use it? Setting one up this Sunday for my lil brother he said the guy he's getting the power t1500bdcp tomorrow from has the remote that controls the bass boost and used it all the time and said the subs sounded amazing so is it really that bad?

    What style crossover?

On the scv and saz amps what style crossover is used butterworth or linkwitz-riley ? Have never seen it said on sundowns specs.
  24. audiohz

    What style crossover?

So would that put it at -6db at 24?
  25. audiohz

    What style crossover?

Just curious honestly which one they use I have read that the Butterworth filter can also go up to 24dB slope, I thought in the past the highest it went was 12db slope.
