  1. x2 on the Big3 in 1/0 and checking your alternator, mine showed the same warning systems before it completely went out. Any parts store like AutoZone or Advance would be happy to do it for free!

Lexan as a front face for my sub box?

Wherever you put them just make sure they are mounted securely Or you might have some floating lights inside your box lol

Lexan as a front face for my sub box?

If you want to achieve a really clean look with the LED's (i.e. make them non-visible but still project a good amount of light) I would incorporate a lip of MDF about 1" around the plexi, and mount the LED's directly behind the lip (if that makes any sense!) so when people look through the "window" of the box, they see it lit up but they won't see the source of the light... again, if that makes any sense.. lol

Lexan as a front face for my sub box?

Right, technically Plexiglass is a brand moniker too, but not to confuse anyone too much... most people refer to acrylic glass as Plexiglass and polycarbonate as Lexan, I feel like I'm piggybacking on OldSkool's post again but he is right about the price point, Plexi is a perfect budget-friendly alternative to Lexan as long as you allow plenty of thickness Whew!

Lexan as a front face for my sub box?

Lexan is top notch, when I worked for my old composite company we used to build aircraft shower doors out of the stuff (The technical difference - Lexan is GE's trade name for its polycarbonate product, whereas Plexi is acrylic like you mentioned) However it is much more expensive so Plexi should be fine as OldSkool said.

    Mechman Alts

While attempting to diagnose the alignment issue myself, the serpentine belt delaminated so I had to buy a new one (Gates Green Stripe - $45!!!! I couldn't believe it). Been in touch with Matt over at MechMan, he's been really great keeping in contact with me every day. Seems like I'm going to have to shim the pulley so the alignment is on track. He says he can send me a shim no problem but that the alt shouldn't have had the alignment issue. Double checked all my mounts and everything is dandy so hoping to hear back from him today. Just kinda bummed that the only thing keeping me from driving the car is a quarter of an inch I was somewhat productive today though, at least I changed the oil

    window breaking

I think it has more to do with the pressure you would have to obtain inside of the vehicle. For best effect it should be close to airtight, a small volume of space such as in a hatchback, and a cone that can displace air very quickly.

Lol thanks, they are pretty jacked up being 5 years old or so, so now I just wear them when I go to the river . The strap keeps them from falling off in the water.

    Second Skin Damplifier Pro

SECOND SKIN GIVEAWAY REVIEW!! (Sorry if it takes a while to load there are a few pics!) I am no stranger to this wonderful product... having two full layers in the trunk, generous amounts on the front doors and rear trunk wall I've really enjoyed what a big difference in sound quality Damp Pro has made. Before I installed it, pretty much every panel on the car would vibrate incessantly and after futile attempts at fixing the problem with weatherstripping and rags I decided to order a pack last summer. I'm very grateful to Ant at SSA for choosing me as a winner in the giveaway contest, and for allowing me to finally complete my sound deadening endeavor. I chose to install the door pack I was sent onto the roof, because it was the most logical choice between the areas of the car I haven't covered. My roof skin had separated from the roof support, causing the panel to go apenuts with certain frequencies of bass, so I tackled the process today of damplifying the roof (is that a word? If not it should be hehe) Since two full layers in the trunk worked wonders, I tried something a little different this time... I placed full square pieces in between the roof supports onto the bare skin of the roof and applied "center" pieces of the material in the middle of each larger piece... I imagine it'll help the vibrations quite a bit. At the time of this writing my headliner is still dropped inside of the car for preparations of my screens being installed so I'm going to have to wait a bit to test it out, but there is no doubt in my mind that this will make a huge difference in the sound. I really promote this product at car shows, I especially argue the price point vs. performance of the product (when compared to other more expensive brands vs. square footage such as DynaMat) and I came up with the idea of maybe cutting up a piece into small squares and handing it out at the car shows with the website written on it... so people can go and compare for themselves... like I tell everyone I'm all about saving money while keeping the quality straight So thanks again SecondSkin and keep up the great work! Oh, and remember kids, the edges are sharp! I forgot to wear gloves this time and paid for it with nicked fingers. Headliner dropped can't get it out Here are some older pics from my initial install last summer: Bare trunk The aftermath of a day of Damplifying! Trunk Lid Hazards of the job!!! lol

    Mechman Alts

OK so I got the unit today and it bolted right in... however, the serpentine belt slips off by one notch when I crank the engine. About 1/4" of the belt is riding over the edge of the pulley. I shot them an email to see what can be done about it... other than that, I was very satisfied with the ease of installation (had to extend a few factory leads in addition to the Big 3 already in place... never can be too careful) But following my curse on car repair, now my head unit is inoperable. Probably happened when the stock alt began to fail and took a number of sensors out with it. Oh well. Tensioner is fairly new, when I seat the belt into the grooves on the alt it jumps out when the engine is started. Still turns the alt, but I know this is not a kosher way to drive around at all.

And might I add post count isn't a measure of an individual's worth on the board but in fact it is the value of content in which they provide? This coming from someone who posts mainly in Off-Topic Stay classy, SSA

    Nocturnal =/

I usually crash around 2am.... but if insomnia is a major problem for you, you could get on some prescription like Lunesta but it also comes with some pretty scary side effects (like sleepwalking, driving while asleep, etc!)

    Mechman Alts

Cool, are you satisfied with it? What was the output of your stock alt? Before mine finally failed it was running like a champ, 140amp alt, but it was 15 years old and I imagine that I put quite a bit of stress on it so it was only a matter of time before it failed. I just didn't expect it to take out a few electrical circuits when it did (turns out they are really sensitive to voltage )

    Addiction sucks.

I see it too much nowadays man.. you are strong you can overcome anything you want to though! I had to see a good friend of 6 years go from a high GPA college student to a miserable alcoholic & benzo addict in a matter of less than a year. He's only 20, and he's gotten to the point of stealing food extracts from the grocery store that contain alcohol to get his fix. He's been in and out of detox but the damn doctors just feed him more pills, he told them straight up "Please don't give me prescriptions I have a problem and I will abuse them" but apparently that fell on deaf ears. Do this for yourself man we all have faith in you.

  25. ...And why? I usually watch anything informative because I figure if I'm watching the toob I might as well learn a little something while I'm at it...I can never really get into reality shows they just tend to piss me off. And the news is always so depressing it's not worth watching. What about you guys?
