  1. They have apps for everything now... remotely operating your house lights, buying tickets... sooner or later we're going to have to run an app to flush the damn toilet :suicide-santa:

    Cool idea though

  2. I'm thinking we can meet at the corner of Thorpe Ln and Springwood, in San Marcos around 11:00am. Sorry I don't have an exact address. You can mapquest from your address to Thorpe Ln in San Marcos Tx and get good directions. After everyone gets a quick intro and we all shake hands we can move on the open field next to the Hays County Civic Center 1249 Civic Center Loop, San Marcos, TX 78666. There we can play our stereos and grill.

Chime in if this doesn't work for any of you planning on coming out.

Do you think it's kosher if we post up there? I mean, to set up shop with a lot of people and grill and all that?

i got booted off there in like 2 minutes. i guess two guys cant have the same name in car audio. :ohnoes9:

Screw them dude, Meade is a tool and so are the other limpdicks over there at those forums.

    Where is the show?

I'd bring my roomate and her friends but she thinks subs are dumb.

Are they hot, single, and over 18?

    :twirl:

  3. Anybody know anything 'bout plating?

In the future, I want to take the inside (everything but the lip) of my chrome alloy wheels and have it plated in black chrome... or possibly even painted black with a very durable clear? Anybody know if this is possible at all, and how much it might cost? Thanks :fing34:

  4. san antonio rd's blow balls.. non stop.... its pucking crazy! IH 35 has mad pot holes... a road that is made to be traveled at 70+ has pucking pot holes that will distroy yout rims tires, alighment and front end and cause wrecks for sure...

i went to san antonio this weekend to pick up my new ride... and OMG even my ckick was like WTH why are the roads to bad here....

    :thanx:

  5. Wow... I've heard of this happening but never had anyone confirm it... was it a threat of legal action or just a cease-and-desist letter?

And what I've heard about PeerBlock TBH is that it's really false security, the only tried and true way to stay completely anonymous is to go through a proxy, and even then I would still have my doubts.

  6. Congrats on the job! I know you've been jobless for months...I know the feeling, it does feel great to start working again. Makes you feel more important (at least for me lol).

Good luck on your new job Matt :drink40:

Thanks guys and you nailed it right there UpGradde.

Some people look at me strangely when I tell them it feels GREAT to come home exhausted and covered in drywall. :D

  7. :woot:

A friend of the family got me started contracting for a construction company, he saw I had some experience in aviation and decided to give me a shot. It's something for now at least until I can go back to school and get my A&P degrees. We worked on the AFB today, completely tearing out a floor of an old office building. Feels really good to be working again... at first the guys I was with gave me shit for being a greenhorn, but I busted ass and surprised them I think lol!

Seriously screwed up my thumb today though.... before I started working... I went to get out of the truck too fast, put all my weight on my left hand and heard a *POP* dislocated my once-before-injured thumb pretty bad (FAIL!!) it popped back into place but I feel like a tool for that. Oh well hazards of life I guess? :D

They started me off pretty low on the pay, but seeing as I have no experience in this field I'm not sweating it. Gonna keep bustin' ass, I gotta prove myself to 'em.

Now I gotta run up to Lowe's and get the few remaining tools that I need!

  8. I always would buy a bottle when I go snowboarding, the whiskey muscles and false courage helps.biggrin.gif Crown is definetly one of the smoothest liquid breakfasts.

I have over 18 months sober NOW though, No more "liquid dickhead" for me.tongue.gif

x2 -- Props on that man

  9. South Arkansas's roads are notoriously sorry. Instead of patching holes and cracks, most of the time they put gravel over it for about 10 to 15 feet. It's so retarded when they do it on a curve. That's just asking for an accident. I can't drive to the local lake, the paved road has holes even after they dropped gravel over it. it's a miracle my oil pan is still intact. My buddy's talon busted his oil pan a few years ago driving in town, yeah our roads are that bad.

Unrelated mr. sagat that avatar cracks me up every time I see it :coolugh:

  10. thats some of it. I have a lot downstairs. :D I am trying to get ready for my crown royal room.

Oh haha maaaaan I wasn't sure if that was yours or just a pic you got online that's pretty cool

Crown Royal room sounds pretty cool like a bar/lounge area?

  11. I'm trying to get ahold of Jon in his spare time he is a very busy man I know, but he'd be our best bet for locating a suitable spot this year.

Thanks for the idea Mark, we need a time... not too early, but early enough to get a few hours of fun in before the Texas sun beats us down... 10am? Assuming it will be in San Marcos are you folks from Houston/Dallas driving down the day of or the night before?

  12. I think you guys are missing the big picture.

The pot holes are due to a general lack of road repair and maintenance. Trust me, I can show you roads here that look like Thing stomped through at ANY time of the year.

  13. Just need to vent.

This city has so many damn potholes. And they either neglect to fix them, or do such a half-ass job that they pop up with one day of rainfall. I'm blessed to be on the NE outskirts of town, in another city's jurisdiction, where they actually give a damn about the roads and I don't have to drive looking 3 feet in front of the car the whole time.

I was navigating highway 35 (literally, I was doing a pretty good job of avoiding the potholes for a while), I'm cautiously doing about 55-60 when all of a sudden I look forward and see a 4" deep , 2ft x 2ft crater in the ground directly in front of me. *BOOM* me and my passengers all had ghostly white looks on our faces, it felt like I hit a brick wall going 30MPH. I'm silently putting curses on the city planners and I can feel the front driver's side wheel is now completely out of balance. Got out to check it, don't *see* any apparent damage but I won't know until I pull it off and have it re-balanced.

On the way home, came across a row of smaller potholes in TWO adjacent lanes, I had to quickly check my mirrors and attempt to straddle the dividing line but I managed to hit half of them anyway. And don't get me started on the downtown area, which I avoid for good reason. Drainage covers sit randomly up from the asphalt about 4"-5", the edges of the roads are in pieces, and besides that everyone drives like maniacs on Mountain Dew. You might as well be crossing a minefield.

I'm so pissed off. If there's any damage to my vehicle other than the tires needing rotation I'm calling the city. Probably have to take a number behind thousands of other people in my boat.

Anyone else's city streets as wonderful and glorious as ours? //sarcasm

    :madsign:

  14. crown royal is my shit but, cask 16 is where its at you'll never look at regular crown the same after you have the black bag

Haven't tried that, but the Special Reserve is somethin else :drink40:

  15. I could find one closer but, its just I really wanted to go to the SSA one, if they had a closer show or if they where visiting another show i'd be there right away. Is there a way for me to tell which shows they will be at?? and a show farther north would be great, and if you hate the cold trust me its gets 90F easily up here once it hits late june.

I think you might have the wrong idea... this is just a user run event, SSA is in no way affiliated or involved in our meetups, just a group of guys/gals who have an interest in car audio and network over the SSA forums (hence the title - SSA meetup). Sorry if that was misleading...

Can newbies like myself join? I should have my set up built by the end of may. I'm out in Katy, Texas so it shouldn't be that long of a drive. What is the age group this meeting is targeted towards?

Of course! We are all here to help each other. Any age welcome, I brought my 8 year old brother last time and he had a blast. Depending on where we have this meet at, it might be a little hot for small children (I'm assuming that's why you are asking) as we usually find ourselves in a parking lot or field, somewhere where the Violent Bass Air won't disturb people. :fing34:

  16. Sorry to those who find it difficult to make it... we loves yous guys and appreciate the support for SSA and car audio in general but we don't expect you to drive halfway across the country to make it (unless that's something you're into). Maybe you guys could host a MidWest SSA meetup for example, I know Chop and a lot of folks live out in Indiana not too far from WI, maybe you could find some middle ground there? Just a suggestion. Although if you could make it then we would love to have you!

Ya it was pretty chill over there. Nobody came and bothered us except Mr. Kickers.

You're thinking of that Target parking lot.

The McCoys he's joking about, the first meeting spot last year, we were there about 5 minutes and a gang of 9-10 rednecks walked out with an ass-kickin' look on their faces.
