Pods lOok gOod Matt. How do you like the ID's?
I will be building new pods starting today, for my 10" mid-basses.
Duuuuuude....
Those ID's are amazing. I was a little apprehensive at first but I sprung for them based on a few reviews, I'm glad I did. And the customer service is top notch! I managed to burn through a set of crossovers, three tweeters, and a midbass before I figured out my amp was bad (they were patient with me the entire time and only charged me for the woofer!)
Can't wait to see those pods man, I'm really itchin' to get back into fiberglass again (pun intended )

Okie doke...
Progress on the car has slowed to a crawl after investing in the 250amp MechMan alt... makes a world of difference, but now I find myself needing a new battery (plus an extra one wouldn't help). And the cheapo head unit went out, which I fully expected... only a matter of time... however, I'm running my iPod directly through a preamp/EQ back to the amplifiers so it's all good for now. Just no video.
Which is what I finally managed to accomplish about a month or so ago... getting these screens mounted! Extremely time consuming! If I had to do it again I would be paying somebody! I originally had 3 15" monitors, but my dumb ass hooked one of them up bass-ackwards and let the genie right out of that monkey. Oh well, stuff happens.
Mayhem ensues:
Damplifying that roof baby! Looks kinda strange, but there is a method to my madness. Figured this would be the best use of what I had, placing small reinforcing pieces in the middle of each larger piece seems to work great. Overkill? Hell I don't know. It looked like a good idea
Might I also add that deadening the roof makes a WORLD of difference. The only part of the car yet to be wrapped are the back doors. I have a sheet and a half left from the door pack which I'm going to give to Hugo
More tomorrow

As most of you may have noticed... YouTube recently switched to a new layout which many people including myself find to be confusing and utterly ridiculous.
The description is hidden by default... the rating system has gone from a sensible 5 star system to a simplistic and absurd thumbs up/down system... button layout is asinine... comment section, really, is there anything I can say about that?? Suggested videos on the right now seem to pop up by related keywords rather than related content... which means no more "surfing" YouTube getting a healthy variety of content, what you type is what it suggests...
It's more than "getting to know a new layout", it's having to deal with a makeover gone horribly wrong. Like those people who go to Mexico to save a buck on a boob job or lipo, and come back horrendously disfigured? Yeah, it's kinda like that. You were pretty enough before, sweetheart.
And that's my two cents. Whether you're a casual surfer or a seasoned pro submitter, drop in on the link below and add your hat to the pile. Anyone else like to share comments come visit me on YouTube channel CadillacMatt95; while I'm still around that is! *rolleyes*
If you miss the old layout... please visit this page and sign the online petition with a quick note.
This might not make a good gosh-a-mole to some of you, but as a YouTube regular and someone who has gleaned many professional music relationships from this site it honestly chaps my ass. Thank you and good night.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or vomit from sheer disbelief.

Yes both the blue and yellow are deep-cycle batteries, meaning they are designed to withstand being repeatedly drained/re-charged without permanent damage to the battery.
My Red Top is labeled as a starting battery, it's worked fine for the past few years but numerous shorts have left it dead a number of times in the past month... it's on its last leg now

Probably not really applicable to a truck but...

hahaha you should have seen it with the old rims, you know the kind that is pretty much used on every low rider with hydraulics? -- oh yeah.. it was bad news.
Ha you mean like this?
Down here they get thrown on everything... worst I've seen them on is a Honda Civic stickin' about 8" out from the car

x1,000 on the battery man, most of us have made the cap mistake starting out... Hell, one guy in my car club was looking for a "compasiter" so I dug one up I had laying around and made a quick 10 bucks off of it
No shame in my game bro-ham

RIdgid makes a good decently priced router we used to use in our shop.
And x2 on what Topgun mentioned about the bits... in my line of work I've witnessed two instances where the bit completely came apart and did some pretty good damage to people.

well the box was a little to large.. but i had the gains backed off it should and been fine.. and it probably would have if she would have just listened to what she likes .. 90's freestyle... but she didnt.. she took one of my cd's because it sounds great in my car and wanted to see how it sounded in hers.. .well im pretty sure she unloaded the these subs to death.
Especially Juice Box with that constant low bass note for three and a half damn minutes lol

IIRC, around $250-300 plus shipping from Russia. Still a lot cheaper than a TL.

OK so we have a few votes of confidence here, now does anyone have any foreseeable circumstances in the next few months so that we can set a date? I'm thinking May or June would be prime... definitely a Saturday or Sunday, with the weather monitored closely to ensure that nothing rains on our car audio parade

i am differently down! i plan on buying on of the new russian meters this month everything about it is very similar to the term lab and has been proven that is it no more than .1 db off from the TL
Funny you should mention that man Hugo was talking about that same exact thing this past weekend

Wow those Lexani's look a lot like the Akuza Reaper's I used to have
Good start keep it up!

Nice car and equipment list man.
How did those 8's fit in in terms of overall system performance/sound? I'm running 6.5"s in door pods vented into the door, sound deadened, but I'm still not getting *quite* the midbass response I would like... might possibly look into some 8's in the future
Thanks and keep it up
