i believe the newer xxx has the highest linear excursion, dont quote me on it though.
but its not all about xmax, doesnt this driver use a split wound coil too?

grrrrr... one of the batts leaked acid all over the carpet.... grrrrrrrrrrrr.... the batt is toast it only holds 10.8v... so down one batt and some carpet... good thing I'm not married.lol, sucks but hurry up! i want this done with some good results

i had 2runs...1 + and 1 - for a saz1500d...i saw a .2 volt increase after doing this at the rear batt..i say go for it if money is no issuewell at this point in my life money is the issue. im trading my old cd player for the 24f of 1/0awg. i got lucky i guess.
is always better0 -
1 run will be sufficient for that power, but 2 wouldnt hurti know it wouldnt hurt but is it needed? if it isnt then i dont need to buy more wire for my big3

do two runs of 1/0 awg 1 for ground and 1 for power or just ground to my chasis? i dont plan on running a ton of power. around 2000rms total. i do plan on adding a couple batteries though.
i already have a run of hyperflex for power and picking up another 24ft in a few hours. i know running the ground to the batt has less reistance than a chasis ground but would i really notice anyhing between the two with such little power? if i dont do another run i can do my big 3 today, but i would rather do two runs while my car is apart than doing 1 run and big 3 and come back and tear everything apart again.

If I read it right, the IB3 is for IB applications only...you'd be better off with a diffrent driver for ported..The IB3 is for "true" IB applications, not "fake" car audio.
True infinite baffles require the driver to be in 25 times it's Vas. The IB3 18 Vas is 13.8 cubic feet. My trunk is less than that(let alone 25 times that), therefore my trunk would be a chitty leaky flexing sealed box, nothing close to an Infinite Baffle.
That asside, I don't choose my drivers by being labeled "IB" or "sealed only" or "SPL". I choose my drivers by Thiele/Small parameteres. It has a low Fs, low inductance, high Xmax, and enough power handling to reach it's potential if I put it in a large enough box and tune low enough... exactly why i chose it.
agree with you, but most people dont know what the tsp's are for sadly.
and op why would you want vids? i/b setups dont have heart pounding bass if thats what you are looking for.

i was about to say i thought it was 10x the vas. nice right up forsure

Use both the body AND the extra 4ga. Do you have a seatbelt bolt close to the amp ? I prefer grounding to those. Or any solid bolt in the body.not a seat belt close. would the seat belt have less resistance than the batt? doubt it but would it be close?
0 -
Yeah that should suffice.0 -
Ground to the framei dont think i have enough 1/0 for that. basically what im asking would it be ok to run a straight 4awg ground since the amp is getting a 4awg from the disro. sorry if im frustrating but im really confused
0 -
is the battery in the trunk? if not then just run the 1/0 guage from the positive (amp) to the bat and use like 1.5-3 foot (if you could spare) of the 1/0 and ground it in the trunkno batts in the back yet.
thing is mustang have very poor grounds so i dont want to ground my amp in the trunk anymore.

not to be a jerk but im not a fan of those amps at all, and this is coming from personal expierence. they dont do know where near rated. Just not worth the money you drop into them.

sorta noob question but ive never had this particular predicament before
Would it be ok to run 4 awg from the ground on the batt to my amp and run 1/0 from the+ batt to a distro to my amp.
i know the ground and power have to be the same awg when putting them into a amp. my car has a very poor ground in the trunk and this option will save me some money an time until i can get more 1/0 to run from the front to the back.
my amp has 4 awg inputs so would i be ok doing this since i would be using both 4awg for ground and power.
i do plan on upgrading the the gound to 1/0 since im goin to add a few batts but this is only temp for maybe a month.

just bust out that can of creative juice, throw a big piece of mdf on there, and get high with some fg and resin, and post some pics when you're done! haha. i dont know a thing about doing IB...do you have to totally seal everything off? like patching up the rear deck area and all that?
you have to totally seal it up. rear deck everything

Hi mike I am looking to see if you had any Rlp motors hanging around with triple .75" slugs? I am building a lms 10" and am hoping to make a matching driver but cannot find a motor to save my life
I'd like to buy one if so. Please send me a message with contact info
Here is my motor I am looking to match
