Hey everyone! haven't had a build long in a while. Last one on here was the 2 FI BTLS wall that was in my mustang. Have a new build coming along soon! SAY HELLO inst she gorgeous Picked her up about 2 weeks ago and already planning stuff. currently have a ZV4 15'' on order and waiting for it to arrive. Also have 4 SA-8 V2's in my room along with (2) 100.4 amps for the mids and highs and (1) 2500V2 for the subs. For the mids and highs im going to be running 2 sets of Image dynamics 6.5 and 2 sets of Image dynamics 6X9s. Still don't know what kind of box design to run tho. The trunk has potential! < 15 cu. ft. Any ideas? was looking into a clamshell type design

Went to a show this past weekend. heres some pics i took.

So going from my current setup to something more extravagant should spark your interest. Wanting to go with (4) SA-8 V.2's in a 4th order box with a 2:1 ratio. From what ive gathered so far on reading.. * Speakers facing sealed chamber(better cooling&so you can smell the coils if needed) * 15^3 inches of port area PER cubic feet of sealed chamber * The shorter the port the better * Ported chamber tuned to around 45-50 hz. Here is what ive come up with on Sketchup so far. Sketch is not to scale. Came up with - 2.6^3 feet in ported chamber and... - 1.3^3 feet in sealed chamber. Would love some input or constructive criticism/ advice and help since this is my first 4th order

Update since last post: Filled in all the spaces and gaps with poly-fill and foam matting, sealed with aluminum tape, finished the support/false floor, started the enclosure, and built an enclosure for my mids and highs. Also got my american bass 350.4 amp which is going to need a hospital visit(in pics).

Update: Got started on the base/Support and am in the process of sound proofing the underside to cut down on as much road noise as i can on a budget. Also got some more goodies in the mail. Still waiting on my American Bass 350.4 however

Dont know if i calculated this correctly. Using multiple subs and a bigger enclosure is making everything hard to calculate. This is everything i plugged into the calculater. Trying to stick to around 20 sq inches per Cubic feet so in total i would have 160sq inches for 12 subs in a 9 cubic feet box. Port is 28 tall, 6 inches wide, and 35 inches long for a 32 hz tuning. At least that is what the calculator tells me. Any input? sound about right?

About to order my mids and highs and am planning on running a 5K High pass filter crossover with them. The website specifies that they can handle 250 watts RMS and are rated at 8ohm. I am planning on getting 4 selenium 8ohm tweeters and running them in parallel to have a final ohm load of 2. My question is, do i only need 1 crossover which would be wired right at the exit of the amplifier channel before it goes into the 4 selenium tweeters or do i need to wire a 5K high pass crossover to EACH tweeter and THEN wire them in parallel? Hope that made sense.

Update: UPS delivered me my other 6 subs that i ordered. I also picked up an XS battery, as well as made an amp rack in preperation for my other 3 amps i will be getting soon. Enjoy

Not trying to turn this into a poll or a design thread, just looking for input before i start to build the false floor and design/plan further.

I prefer this look. Just out of curiosity, why all the 8's? I'm not trying to bag on your setup, just wondering why not use a larger driver and less of them. dont know how the numbers are going to look with the port covered mostly by the seat but can give it a go if i decide to go this route. As far as why... well i had 6 already so might as well get 6 more. Plus havnt seen a wall done with 8's before. Would be pretty unique and one of a kind. Again, don't know how the numbers will stack up tho...
