Welcome to this great forums !

Take a look on the passenger side (on the firewall). You will find some plastic or rubber "thing" that you will have to cut. Just make a little hole in it.It was not easy to do. I have 0 ga power wire, and it was a pain to make it through that hole !!! Even with the hyper flex Stinger wire I had! Good luck

I had 2 for about the same price : great deal! 4 ft3 sealed was the minimum volume for a sealed enclosure to Start sounding decent! 6 ft3 was much better. (For one sub) So, less than 4 ft3 for a ported enclosure may be too small. Your box should be good for 2 15s But I am not a specialist! With 10 ft3 and 720$ for subs you can do better. It's up to you!

lol!!! There are so much other woofers on earth!!!!!!!!(SSA, Sundown,Incriminator Audio, and many more on the shop, HERE). With 10 ft3 you can make something great. Read more, look around. Maybe you can find some better sub for your money. Maybe you will realize that you really need these L5!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol Take your time I had a Kicker S15L7, but I found, here, some much better speakers for the dollars! good luck

Nice Bimma! What else do you plan to install? head unit, speakers,... Good luck, and keep posting pics if you can.

I will try to reach them !! Thanks

absolutely right!!!!!!!!!! You must include all taxes, all costs: it can double the price easily. Shipping costs are based on volume and weight : a Btl must be really Huge!!!!!!! Sometimes it's better to buy from the USA, sometimes it's not !!!
-
It looks like Fi has locked everything! You will not be able to buy Fi anywhere else, unless it's used ones. There is a really BIG difference in prices? more than the double !!!!!!! Incredible!!!(I am not a US resident, and I am used to order all I can online, because prices are too hogh here in Martinique).

I am looking for info about the Xcon subs. Can somebody give me some specs about the Xcon line? I need the weight of the 12 and 15" sub, and I can't find it. I want to compare it to the Icon line. Can we have a comparative description of the 2 12" and of the 2 15"? I have an Icon 15", and I love it! I loved its "light" weight too. But I can't tell for the Xcon, there are not a lot info on the SSA site. Thanks

Hi all, A friend of mine wants a system for his class c Mercedes. He used to have some kind of spl system his cars, but wants now something small. He will buy a good Alpine head unit and a set of Focal comps for the front(without amp). He like the Icon but need something smaller, 300-600 watts rms. My first option would be a 10" Dcon sub and a small 2 channel amp(maybe a Sundown). Will that be enough for his trunk? will he be able to hear it in the car? The trunk is quite big, and seems to have no ski hole. What are the other options ? He would like to keep the budget as low as possible, but he is not broke, at all !!! To give a budget, hummmmmm : 300 to 400 $ max (without shipping). Better if it is lower ! I want him to shop here at the SSA shop, as I am confident with them ! He listen to rap, r&b, and reggae, and will make a SMALL ported enclosure. Thank for your help.

I need informations about shipping costs
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in SSA® Store
Wow ! That's a fast shot ! No hurry, take your time, calculate. I have not made my mind on the 125.4; I am still looking for something else (maybe one of the Clarion?). The shipping costs are really important for me. You know, I live under the sun, in the Caribbeans, far from you!!! -
need 1 sub and 1 amp for a Mercedes
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in General Audio
Really? The sub will not receive a lot of power with that set up. Do you think it would enough to have some bass in the cabin? If it is ok, I can sell him my Boston gt 42 amp, and buy a 2 channel amp for my focal 165KP instead. I will talk to him as soon as possible. If he is ok with that, I will order one 10" or 12" Dcon and a Sundown, or a USamp, or whatever, amp in 2ch. BTW I have to check how much power my amp will produce with that setup. don't know if it can handle a 2 ohms load on the rear channels AND a 4 ohms one on the front channels. -

Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in General Audio
He will buy one of the K series, don't know yet. He wants a double din Alpine h u: he's'looking for a good deal locally. The problem is that there is no opening in the trunk to the cabin. What can he do to hear some bass in the cabin without tons of power? He doesn't want another amp for the speakers, so he may buy a 4 channel amp(mine!) : but he will only have a little more than 200 watts rms for the sub. -
need 1 sub and 1 amp for a Mercedes
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in General Audio
This pack is really cool But he only wants one sub. He really worries about the output he can have in the car with a small set up. The trunk is big and he thinks that the bass may not be audible enough. He want some bass but with a small setup. The Dcon is good for him? -
Do you really have a good enclosure for your needs? I found that enclosures are soooo important for the sound of your subs. It may be much better to have the good enclosure that suit your needs than buying another new sub. I have worked with 4 different enclosures for my old Kicker S15L7, and I found very very different results, so , maybe you just don't like your box! Think about it !
-
Wonderful! It's not a sub enclosure, it's an artistic sculpture!!!!!!!!! Too bad you can't see inside when it's all done!! I would love to have a box made by PTS, but I live too far : shipping would cost my 2 arms, and my leggs!!!!!!!!!!! Great work PTS! as always

Port area : do I have enough for my Icon 15?
Notorious97200 posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Hi, I've read everywhere I could, but I get very different informations!!! My enclosure is about 4 ft3 and has a round 5.6"(diameter) PVC port; port length is 14". It sounds good, but I 've read that port area should be much bigger : 4 (ft3) * 15 = 60 sq inches. And my port is far from that. I don't really know the actual tuning, but I would like it to be around 30-32 hz. Do I have enough port area ? Or enough length? Enough port ? Please, help me !!! -
Port area : do I have enough for my Icon 15?
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Thank you for your advice, but I think 40" will be way too long for my box!! I will keep what I already got. If I upgrade next year with an Xcon 15 I will build another box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like my sub more and more. I couldn't believe it would slam like that with only 650 w rms. As I can't change my amp now (money is short ) , I wanted to improve the box. Maybe it is good enough! I thought that a bigger port area will make me shorten the port, but I was absolutely wrong. Hopefully I didn't make the change before asking here. So, thank again. -

Port area : do I have enough for my Icon 15?
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
40" long??? How can I do that? External port? Maybe I am completly wrong in conversions between inches, centimetres,...? No, no, I know 1 inch = 2.5 cm!!! So ? I must admit my bass is hitting hard and sound good too!!! But I just want to learn and improve what I have if possible. You, at SSA forums have more knowledge than what I can find in my country!!! And you don't mind "teaching" the people. Thank you -
Port area : do I have enough for my Icon 15?
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
So, what to do ? Add another port with the same area, but how long? Or replace the port with a bigger one? I have a 8" diameter pvc tube, can I use it? How long should it be? Last question : what will be the benefits of having a bigger port area? More output, I hope?!!! Thank you for your answers! I am waiting for them. -
You're right / the Sundown 4ch has this option : you can bandpass the mid speakers. It is the first amp I see with this option, but others can do it too , though it's not so common. Good luck!!
