    Which 15's

There are great combos on the ssa shop. Look at the ones with the sundown amp and an Icon or an Xcon sub. I would love to have one with the Xcon, but times are hard, and I just got an Icon 15(terrific !!!!!!!!!!).

    Which components to get?

Why do you want us to go to ca.com? Do you know where you are ? SSA forums are way more instructive, reliable and serious. Just tell what you like, what you need,etc... and you will receive very good advices!!! I went to ca.com onceor twice, and I was really disappointed : lot of talks, bad talks,... In my opinion there is too much teenagers (or teenagers in their minds!) on this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What About These Subwoofers?

My 15 Icon plays so well with "just" 650 watts rms. It's a DVC 2 ohms, and at 4 ohms my JL amp gives him 650 w, maybe less as I don't have 14.4v !! I will get a 1000w amp when I can, but it's really not a must!

    SSA TRADE UP PROGRAM feeler

Great idea. If you think you made the wrong choice, it is a very god option! (You'd better keep the original packaging safe) I don't think I will be interested because of the shipping costs!!! I know how to sell my stuff, but it's not the case for everybody! Great products, great forums, huge customer service.............and now a trade up program coming? You want to be the world champions?!!! You're on the right way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all
  6. All these head-units are very good ones ! If you can afford them ! I am a big fan of Pioneer head units; I've tried a good Alpine once, but was not satisfied with it. It was too hard to play with, I couldn't tune my system like I wanted. It was too difficult gor me!!! I never had these kinds of problem with any of my Pioneer head-units. So, I stay with Pio. But it's up to you.

deciding on single sub for my crx

This is an easy answer. What you are looking for is exactly what the XCON is designed to deliver. plus, it's dead sexy of course any sub that has been suggested will more then likely be satisfying to you, just thought i'd add my two cents... I vote XCON 15, or 12"

    What About These Subwoofers?

As a pround owner of an Icon 15, I must vote for the Icon 10"!!! I haven't heared the other ones you've listed, but they all seem to be very good. But, with a name like that (icon) how can you go wrong ???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lol

    Best customer service

I bought my Icon from SSA, and was very satisfied with my purchase. They took good care of me, and sent my sub only one or two days after they received my payment ! All my questions were answered so quickly! I was very confident with them. Look at their feedbacks from customers They offered different shipping methods : I choose the cheapest, but had to wait 3 to 4 weeks as I don't live in the USA !!!

    Customer Service...

One of the reasons I finally deicide to buy my Icon, was how fast I got answers from you. This forum is really helping customers to decide. BTW I saw a UPS guy at my office last week, I will call them to see how they work here. I don't like to wait a month long for my orders, and I will have to order an Xcon soon for a buddy of mine. I can't make him wait for so long! I 'll keep you informed!

    Customer Service...

I had some big problems with indoaudio.com on ebay for my last purchases. I had to wait for quite a month to get my 2 Kicker sub and my Boston gt42 amp. The subs were listed on their site, but they didn't have it in stock!!!Same thing for the amp I opened a dispute on ebay and everything got right : they sent me the 2008 model for the price of the older ones!!! Finally it was a very good deal : 2 Kicker S15L74 for less than 400$. Same thing for the amp : it took more time, maybe it's because I didn't open a dispute. But they finally sent the amp. They were telling me to give them a 5 stars rating!!!!! and they would give me a 3 year warranty!!!!!!! This store closed even before I received my items!!!!!! I was so afraid to loose my money. I must tell that I bought a lot of things from them before, really a lot of things. And I was REALLY SATISFIED with them. I am still buying things on ebay. But all my car audio gear will now come from SSAShop.

    Smoking Problems @ work

Ohhhhhhhhh For 7 months? I start to understand the situation. You didn't explain it like that. Sorry Bro ! I were only talking about the smell on your clothes , not about people smoking in front of your daughter. That's why I told you to take a shower and to put clean clothes after a day of work. It makes sense! Even if you don't smell cigarette smoke. I didn't mean to joke with your daughter, at all. Period I work in an airport, where it is forbidden to smoke. You must go out far to smoke a cig. But I, and everybody respect this rule. Why don't they respect that at your office ? Here is the problem. Call me as you want, but you only get the respect you give to others. If my cigarette bothers you, I will always move or "turn it off". I agree that non smokers have the right to live as they want. Smokers must be careful : we can't smoke when we want, we have to hide. But I accept that. Smokers must admit that with only one non-smoker in a room, they can't light up any cig. Law or not law; it's common sense. But no fight is needed, even if you a pro judo player!!!!!!!!!! Non-smokers can be so rough and tough some times!!!!!

    Smoking Problems @ work

I did not Cuss him - Nor did i threaten him till he got baligerent, all i asked the boss was where could i eat & take breaks in safety, he got himself fired... he made the choice to somke in a NON SMOKING AREA... i did not force him or them... seems the SAFETY man & Plant Owners agreed with me & OSHA... i take it your one of the people that thinks it's OK for me to go home with smoke on my clothing and have my ASPHMATIC daughter have to go the the EMERGENCY ROOM ??? care to pay the ER bill for me ??? You work for the Police, don't you?!!! When you were in school, were you the one sitting in front of the teacher, always crying when the others were joking about you ??? Lol You could have just talk longer to them, instead of calling the US army !!! One people has been fired, and that SUCKS. You can't be pround of that. You're looking for people to tell you that you did right? Not me!!! From your posts, it seems that you didn't try hard to find another option. It's sad. I understand you don't like that, but if everybody smoke in the rest room(that's really bad), you should have discuss it with everyone in one of your weekly or monthly meetings before snitching !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These smokers must know they were wrong, but it's difficult to change everyone habits in a second. Talk, discuss, listen, but don't call the police first : these people are not gangsters, you work with them every day. Your daughter will be sick with just some smoke on your clothes? My bad!!! You must be joking! Just take a good shower when you come home, and put some clean clothes on, and even some perfume : you will be fine!
  15. As you can see in my sig, I am a pround owner of a 15" Icon sub!!! I am really happy with it, but I would like to play with the tuning frequencies of my box! I want to lower the tuning frequency of my enclosure. What should I do ? The box is about 4ft3 and the port is 14.10" (35cm) long and about 5.5" (14cm) of diameter. The actual port is just a PVC pipe. Should I replace it with a longer port(1" more), or is it better to have one port with a larger diameter to have more port area ? It is easier to have a longer port, but is it better for the sound, output, quality,... ??? Thanks you all

icon 15: ported or sealed enclosure?

I didn't want to make a new thread, so, here is my question : What should I do? I finally put a round port but I couldn't find a 6" one, so I tried a smaller one. It works FINE. Now, I would like to try a lower tunig. Can I just try a longer port, or is it better to find a bigger diameter port????? Tell me what you think, guys Thanks
  17. I have just received my 15" Icon sub, and I can have a sealed free enclosure (about 4 cu ft). I listen mostly to reggae and rap, What should I do? Keep it sealed, or add a round port to it ? My amplifier is a JL Audio A1800 and will give the sub 650w rms @ 4 ohms. I have Focal 165KP for front speakers on a big Boston GT42 amp. 0 Ga power wiring... Still to come:big 3 And.......my car is a Toyota Auris(new Corolla hatchback). That's'it ! Thank you for your advices!
  18. Notorious97200

    alright guys, you win

I run a 15" Icon, and it is really loud, if you want it !!! My old Kicker 08 S15L7 in a 4ft3 sealed enclosure was like "a one note player" with 1000w rms : kind of spl sub (?) in my opinion. The Icon is in the same box, with a round port, and it kicks ass!!!!!!!!! Now, I can listen to (all kind of) music, all kind of bass notes! Coming from a 15L7, the Icon is more than enough. But you're coming from a 12 : it should be day and night !!! The Xcon seems to be a fantastic woofer, I'd love to have one, because I am an audio addict for sure, but don't forget the weight in your trunk! And the money to spend
  19. Notorious97200

    backintheday's build log > 8 solo 15"s and 2 colossus

Oh my God ! That's'a a mooooooonster bassboxxx!!!!!

    Review of 15" XCONS

Your box looks great, but not so big for 2 15" Xcon. I love it !!! What kind of car do you have ?
  21. Ok , I will bridge the channels. I can't buy anything these days. no money left! I said "save power" in case I had to leave 2 channels unplugged ! I must be careful with the gain, I really don't want to loose my speakers. BTW these components speakers sound soooo good, I love them more and more!!!!! (I don,t work or sell for them!!)
  22. Hi everybody, I'm getting rid of my rear speakers : I can't hear them with my 15" Icon playing! I will only keep my Focal 165 KP front speakers, but I don't want to go active. What should I do? Keep my current 4 channels amp and bridge it to the Focal? (This amp puts out 2*225 watts rms) Or sell it and buy a 2 ch amp (to save some power , and maybe some space and weight) I was looking at the Sundown amps : 125*2 or the 100*2. What do you think? What would you do?
  23. Notorious97200

    3-12" Icons, 2-15" Icons or 1-18" Xcon

I would love to have an XCON ! You,re lucky that you can run 1 or 2 beasts like that!!!! But I must admit the 15" ICON is more than enough for my car. Even with Damplifier, sometimes I feel like my car will fall apart, or explode!!! (I must do something for thz tunk lid rattles) The XCON must be insane!
  24. Notorious97200

    3-12" Icons, 2-15" Icons or 1-18" Xcon

I vote for only one 15" Xcon. You have the space and the power with the 2000w amp! It should be perfect, and easy to do !!!
  25. Notorious97200

    Anyone spare me

Surprising !!! You did not tell what you needed to buy,................ I did not imagine life was so hard in Michigan!!!! We learn everyday!
