    international dealers

I have the same question for Martinique (French West Indies)!! Trinidad is not so far from my country, but I will not be able to order something from them. Do you have any dealer here or in GUADELOUPE, or even in St LUCIA ?

    mids/highs to match?

With 2 15's Icon in the back, you will never hear the rear speakers, unless you open only the rear doors : too much bass!!! Your passengers on the back seats won't hear them, with this bass hitting them! Put more money on your front doors speakers, a good amp and deadening products : and it will be "GOOD TO GO"!!!

What did you use for the rattles ? How many tons of deadening ? Because you will have lot of pressure with that beast !!! I hope the windows will be able to handle that! I would love to hear such a van! I am just waiting for your review when everything is ok in the van.

    componets?

Focal K series, Phenix gold rsd, and so on The choice is yours. Try to go listen for whatever you can and come back on the forum with more info about your tastes on each one you listen to. People will be able to give you more advice or info. There are hundreds of brands in the caraudio market!!!!!

    Tell me what you think

get something with less power! You can find good sounding products at the SSAShop. Maybe you can step down from the BTL to a ??? BL or Icon, or whatever is cheaper than the BTL! FIRST : You'd better buy some good component speakers : Kenwood coax , noooooooooooo!!!Run them with a Sundomn 100.2 for example (look for them, used, at db-r). Why don't you keep your 750.1, for the moment? You will upgrade it later if you need to. Just my 02cts!

    NEW SUBS tuff CHOICE

I got mine recently (1 month) and I am VERY HAPPY with it : accurate is the word, YES !!! You can easily listen to jazz, or any kind of music. But the output is incredible in my ported enclosure !!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to turn the gain down! And just imagine I give it 650 watts (at 4 ohms). I cannot imagine how would sound an Xcon!!! I may order one for a friend of mine : I will tell you. You made a great choice : it's a hell of a sub!

I feel so lucky to have SSA

I am still afraid of this 1 ohm thing !!! I run my 15" Icon sub with 650wrms at 4 ohms, and it plays very well : the output is FANTASTIC !!! I had to turn down the gain because my trunk lid was going to explode ! 1ohm is suitable for some good quality amps, but I really think it's better to run amps at higher ohms (2, even 4 ohms) when you can afford it. What do you think about it ?

    Speaker suggestions for sax100.4

Focal Polyglass sound good, but are expensive when you compare them to the KP or K2.... The K series are really really sounding GOOD! Take a look, see the price difference and decide or save a little more!!! You can find wonderful sales on a french official internet site: sebastoautoradio.net. Nice guys

    Fi and Ia

You like your setup, but you want something new !! I understand it like that!!!!! Take a look at the SSA XCON (1750 wrms, low end monster........)It may be a good choice for you. Just my 02 cts. I have never heard it, but only read good reviews about it. I run a 15" SSA ICON, great great sub, abd I will soon order a XCON 15 for a friend of mine: after a listen to my Icon, he wants his big brother bad !

    Deadner for doors

Take a look at Secondskinaudio Damplifier or Damplifier pro. I tried Fatmat before, for my trunk, and ordered Damplifier after : much better! Secondskinaudio have a subforum here. Their customer service is really good, and I live far from the USA !!!

Why do you all love 10" subs ?

Hello, I would like to know why so much people want to have 2 10" subs in their cars ? Isn't it easier to have just a 12 or even a 15" sub ? In my country, cars are smaller than yours, but we prefer running one sub on one amp, than multiple subs setups. I think it might be for the output, btu can you give me your opinions, please ? Thanks all

    What kind of ports ?

I'm keeping my round port, for sure! Flared ports may be more fancy and sound better, but I don't want to add weight in my trunk. More wood, so more weight :not good for me !!! If you want to save space, ithe flared ports are not the best choices. Thanks for your informations:)
  17. Notorious97200

    What kind of ports ?

I run a 15" SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure, but I just have a round PVC port. I can see that most of the ported enclosures use beautiful "slot" ports (is it the good word ?). Those are more difficult to do, and you have to make it right the first time ! It's difficult to change them after. I want to know why do people use those ports? What are the advantages, comparing to simple and adjustable round ports? Sorry to bother with all these questions, but I am here to learn, and to run my sub correctly. BTW I love the sound of my sub with this enclosure, and I will try to tune it lower !!!
  18. Notorious97200

    Look what Orion sent me

It looks like a beast, but can it play music ? must be pretty heavy !! Some people have 4 of them in a car ? What car is it ? a truck!!! (yeah, I know you have big cars in the USA !!!)
  19. Notorious97200

    What kind of ports ?

This is what I was talking about : flared ports ! These flared ports tend to make the enclosure bigger, and seems way more difficult to build. So, you think it is really worth the deal? And, YES, these ports are sexy !!!!!!!

    Ported Enclosure Tuned Frequency

FI SSD, FI Q would be your best bet. ??????????????????????? It seems to be a good and honest answer, but very surprising !!! I was not expecting this one !!!

    CUSTOMER FEEDBACK SECTION for SSA

I ordered a 15" SSA Icon . It is a fantastic sub. The customer service is MORE THAN GREAT !!! They took care of me and answered all my questions,as if they were waiting for them !!!!!!!! I live in MARTINIQUE (French West Indies), so the shipping took some time (one month with USPS, but I could have choosen Fedex for a 3-day delivery!)), but the sub was sent right after they received my Paypal payment. I will come back !!! I would love to try the Sundown amps : the 100.2 and the 3500D. And the friend who built my enclosure wants an Xcon now, after hearing my Icon !!!!!!! He is getting ready for the money, like me !!
  22. Notorious97200

Give me opinions, good or bad.

Ouch, that will cost you $1500? You need to start over, but tell us your goals instead of an equipment list. The only things on your list I'd buy is the Kicker amp kit and the PDX, but only if I really needed a small footprint amplifier. I've used them in numerous installs and never had any noise issue. In fact, I've used the cheapest RCAs known to man and never had a noise issue. I want it LOUD, Listen to rap, i want sound quality, but I want it to beat hard and low. Wacha think of my new list I've come up with. 1. Kicker KS60.2=119.99(each)=240 2. Kicker ZX350.4=219.99 3. F150 Box, 2 12s(139.95+22)=162 4. Polk Audio MM1240DVC=129.99(259.98) 5. PowerBass ASA-1000.1D= 249.99 6. Kicker PKD1 Dual amp kit= 102.99 7. Stinger SPL2120=15.99each=47.97 8. 100 foot 14 gauge speaker wire(HOME DEPOT)=50 Total: 1400.68 Shipped I think you shoukd really try the Sundomn amps, even the refurb ones. Try the ssashop, or db-r.com: there are big sales and big deals for a limited time now. Why don't you take a look at the SSA sub or the FI ? You can't be disappointed with them! Last point : I am not sure if you need rear speakers, take the money for the 2 sets and just buy a Better one, so you will only need a 2 channel amp for your speakers. TAKE YOUR TIME, read a lot, do some good research, and maybe you will be satisfied with your choices!!!! Good luck

Why do you all love 10" subs ?

I totally agree with you JW. After all this talk, I am really not ready to try 10's'or 8's'!!!!!!! I love how my 15 Icon plays the low notes, AND how it hits HARD! Only a little baby will be make me try small size woofers! to save space in the trunk

    Post your Audio Setup!!!

My car is a Toyota Auris D4D. 2.0liter, 4 doors. It's the new corolla. My h u is a Pioneer 880 prs II (the new one). I have a Boston amp for the Focal 165KP(fantastic!) front and the Davis Acoustics 130 cvt rear. The JL Audio A1800 D'amp is powering my SSA Icon 15" sub : incredible!!!(Much much better than my previous Kicker S15L7 with more power! The trunk is deadened with a layer of Fatmat (not so good) and a lqyer of Secondskinaudio Damplifier. Damplifier in the front doors, but not completly. 0 ga Stinger power wiring, Stinger rca's' Dbsonic 2 farads cap. Stock battery Big 3 still to come Belive me : it sounds really good! Loud and clear!!!

    My first setup

I have a 15 SSA Icon in a 4 ft3 ported enclosure for about 2 weeks. I can tell you it sounds really really good!!! - had several subs before (15 Kicker L7, 12" Pioneer, Alpine, 15" Impact, and more!!!y I run it with "only" 650 w rms @ 4 ohms, and it is Fantastic! I was not so sure about it before , the reviews may be biaised, and too positive. It's'a business!!! But NO ! It's'a hell of a sub:) You'd'better give it a try. (With the free enclosure, it must be a very good deal). I am even afraid of how the SSA Xcon can sound and hit: got to be a MONSTER !!
