  1. OK, now you're talking to a serious guy !

I bought a PSP port a few years ago. It was nice, but I will never do that again : now, I use PVC tubes, and I can flare both ends.

It's not perfect as a PSP port, but it's MUCH cheaper, I can found what I need locally, ready to use.

With a good looking paint, I can even show it outside the box (to save box volume).

I am not sure where to start, but they took a number of queues from a few VERY durable, well established, high end amps.  We were not going to throw something so expensive and risky out there that wasn't a dead on certainty that they will be reliable and perform.  Benefits are long, as in how stout they are, the board design, the proven tech, the well done heat sink, the part choice, the foot print, the design, the durability, and so on.  Yes, I know much of it is seeing these in person to see and feel how nice they are.  When we debuted them at Slamology, the reaction was awesome.  They are heavy for their size, that is due to the thick heat sink.  Heat has not at all be an issue in extensive testing before production.  I'm not saying you should change your IA amp, they are great also.  These are simply an outstanding option in the higher end amplifier market (see our subs, our mids, our tweets, all high end pieces priced very well that people need to see them perform to see how good they are) and we have priced them very competitively, and they are under ratted.

All your products are very well priced. I won't say they are cheap, but they all seem to be worth every penny !

I was just surprised when I saw the amps price, with not so much informations about them.

I hope I will be able to get one soon !  :)

Thanks, that is due to them not being a cheaply made amp or even just a logo slapped on someone elses amp.  These things emptied us out, they were very expensive to launch.

    Maybe you should explain more.

Tell us what benefits do they have, why are they really good, how "not cheaply made" they are,...
Sorry for those questions, but those are your first amps. I don't know what to expect, and why should I buy them (and change both my IA amps !).

I'd still love to get that 4ch class D...

Have you ever heard a x/zv4/5 in person before ?

I've heard a pair of 18" Zv4 and I did not like that setup. I don't know if the box what good for them, but 2 SP4s in the same box and it was a night and day difference. The Fi were much more musical than the Sundown (only the lows would hit right).

That is just one experience, so I can't really judge the Sundown subs.

I can only talk about the Fi subs, as I have more experience with them.

Never broke in subs and never got a smell either, you have to be doing something wrong to get the same results for 4 different subs. Amp gain is not a volume knob, it's their to match the preout voltage of headunit.

    i was thinking the same.

I've just installed a freshly reconed sub, and I run it as usual. No break in, no smell.

I have a good enclosure, but the amps settings are made by ears !

  6. I had an Xcon 15" in a 3 cu ft sealed box. It was nice. The sound was really good, and I had a lot of output too !

I wouldn't use it in a smaller sealed box. ;)

If you already have subs, it would be much cheaper to work on a new custom box, for them.

Maybe you could just port your current box for your 12s, with some 4" PVC pipes. Ask some good designers here.

How many sets of components ( evil 6.5 in tweets )can I run off of a 4 channel amp and a mini DSP..

    The amp is 100 x 4 at 4 Ohms

If you run components you don't need a DSP. And you can have as much sets you want !

If you run a DSP each speaker should be on its own channel : so 2 mids and 2 tweeters on your 4 ch amp, or mids on 2 channels and tweeters on the 2 others.

I got the hex set new in box for 100.. i like to tinker..and building  xovers for a set of evil mids n tweets sounda extremely gratifying.. Just not sure what materials id need and how to go about it ..

Or just get an external dsp : no need to use anything else. But you'll need 4 channels of amplification.

That is what I did, from M5 advice. ;)
