  1. BUMP!! Just wondering if anybody can give me some input on this flip screen headunit? I found it on amazon.com for $313 shipped......btw-I meant that my dash can't take a double din. Probably won't purchase it for another month or so. I'm hoping to find a buyer locally for my current headunit to apply toward the new one.

Here is the manual for the Clarion.... VZ409

  2. Couple of questions i have for you.

    1. Could u get the measurements of the area you have to work with??

    2. A pic of the area could help as well??

If you have the room for a properly built box the 2 10's would be louder cause of the more cone area, motor force, etc.

  3. So last night on my way home from work I was listening to my stereo and all of a sudden the H.U. shuts off and then restarts(Alpine 9884). I installed the H.U. last year in November and never

had a problem with it then about a month ago I put in a Sundown SAZ-1000D and a Fi 12" Q. Never had a problem with my H.U. turning off before last night. I dont know if the cold had anything

to do with it. It was around 30 out and snowing. Today comming home from school it was listening to it seeing if it would shut off and it never did then comming to work a few hours later it

started doing it again. I have yet to do the big 3 and my voltage drops pretty good. Im driving a 97 blazer 4 dr. I'm just looking for were to start troubleshooting.

When it shuts off do u lose sound??

  4. After this initial group buy, will you be carrying Zed's line of amps on your website? Do you happen to know how long these amps will be produced or if there will be a limited amount of them made? I'm a a few months at least away from installing my system, so I was just curious if I will still have time in a few months to purchase some of these amps or if they need to get purchased as soon as possible.? Look foward to seeing pics and feedback on those who have already purchased. fing34.gif

I don't know if ssa will carry them but you could go to zed's website. He will be updating it soon so you can order them . If you decide to get the amp and he hasn't updated his site you could always email him. His email is ZEDAUDIO@aol.com.

  5. would you mined running 6 15 instead of the 18's?? I looked at Fi's site and the Fi q 18 would need a min of 4cuft and the Fi ssd 18 would need the copper coils to run it sealed and the box would need to be in a 5cuft. Now the 15q would need 2.8cuft min and the 15ssd would need 2cuft min. I don't know the sizes for the AA series but i would believe that they would be close to the fi subs.

  6. I have an old kicker 1200.1 amplifier but I'm not sure what Ohm stability it has and I'm wanting to buy an Fi BL 18" dual 1 ohm. My question is what could happen if I wired the dual 1 ohm woofer up to my amp and my amp isnt 1 ohm stable? And how can I find out if my amp is?

First you can't wire a dual 1 ohm sub to a 1 ohm load. A d1 can only be wired to see a .5 ohm or 2ohms. Also if the amp is the KX series than yes the amp can handle the 1ohm load, but the sub would have to be a d2.

  7. I would start at 800watts first then work your way up, if you'd like. You'd be surprised how loud 800watts is compared to your old setup. Also you would hear absolutely no difference between 800 - 1000 watts.

Setting the gains with a dmm is a good start. With the equation you would use the ohm load presented to the amp which in your case is 1ohm.

  8. 800 to a 1000 watts. But if you go above 800 you will have to use your common sense. You have to use you ears to listen and especially use your nose these two sensory options are key. I have mine sealed on 800watts and when i want to pound it shakes the shit out of my truck. If you really want brut force you should have look at either the bl or btl. Also you shouldn't have choose the copper coils if you wanted power you could have gotten the flatwound coils as well as bp power than you could have given the sub more power.

  9. I think the ssd's would be fine but i would put the Bp power option on them.

But how come u decided to use the ssd line over the rest of their subs??

Also what are you trying to accomplish with your system??
