So I finally got around to helping my little brother install his little system lol! I must say it looks and pounds very nicely! The box was designed by Ram Designs, http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/17102-ram-designs/ The assembled box! then we installed the subs and wired it all down to 1ohm load! since they are d4 subs! Yes I know that isn't the best place to put an amp but it is all we have to work with in the trunk area! as you can see the trunk is quite full now! The car now sits a bit lower in the ass end! lol and yes the drums are painted orange! here are a few other customization my little brother did while he was waiting for me to help him with the install! Please note in this picture all the extra space he has when the seats are totally down! I think the next step is a wall in this car but I don't know we will wait and see! hard to see but the glove box door is painted black and if any of you remember this is the car that I had an accident with! all better now! If anyone knows what the interior used to look like in this car well think of it like this! all the orange used to be washed out grey! I think he did a great job and this was his second box he has built so I see a great improvement! at any rate the specs on the box are 4ft^3 tuned to 33hz. The overall dimensions are 38" wide x 14" tall x 22" deep with an 18"x3" port Let me know what you guys think and how you like it! I my self was very surprised with how it turned out and how low it gets! and hell everything shakes now lol! I think he is very impressed! O and there is a voltmeter in his car also curtious of shizzzon. It hasn't been permanently mounted yet but soon it will be! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/2377-shizzzon/

wow I learn something new every day and just think this lesson all started because I was lazy! Plus one for you Audibel Customs I don't normally use caulk on the inside of my box's as home depot normally make pretty square cuts as it is so I don't have anything to worry about but from time to time they do screw me on a few pieces and when they do it is more times then not by 1/4 (0.250) so I can see the gap right away as I am making the box, this normally leads me to my skill saw and a pencil lol! but some times and depending on who it is for I just caulk it or glass it if i have to. hey what are your thoughts on fiberglass on the inside of a box? I did this on my last box and I don't know I just did it to improve air flow (just the resin no matte)

and by silicon I mean caulk naw I have never used silicon before in a box, it is caulk all the way. Although I never knew that about silicon! good tip I will keep that in mind! thanks! is there anything better then caulk to use though?

You could get wire slap doing that. ya running the wires in the port wasn't my first pick, but let me tell you why we ended up doing it that way! lol! it was late at night he (my brother ) was very impatient and didn't want to wait we didn't have any threaded rod, or screws/wing nuts kicking around and I didn't want to let it go for another day! so with all those factors we just went though the port and said screw it!

    remote wire question?

if you are using a relay here is a diagram and you should ask your h/u manufacture how many amps or mA your h/u remote can support!
  12. WOW tuned in for sure!!! love the look! nice video!

    voltmeter

Um, no. It's not like the gauge on a multimeter. They use stepper motors just like your gauges in your car. Does your speedometer, tachometer, or fuel gauge mess up from the bass or become less accurate over time? Nope. They don't sway or move or vibrate with bass and they don't wear out either. In fact, the gauge will outlive the vehicle. interesting I guess my car is just that special lol! when the bass is pumping all my gauge move and even my fuel gauge is a lot less accurate then it used to be, in regards to my fuel gauge I now have to go off of how many km's (miles) I have on the tank and no it isn't the fuel pump because I just replaced my original fuel pump. then again my car has 390,000km on it (242,000 miles) and everything is original other the my stupid fuel pump, tires, and ball joints and brakes lol. my car is a 1995 grand am so 17 years old now. LOl when this car was new it was a pile lol!

    Very Interesting

So I got an e-mail today and it was pretty cool and I wanted to share it with everyone, please take the time to read and follow and leave me your thoughts! I think it is pretty cool and interactive plus you can even play eye spy! I see bin laden and 72 virgins do you! (and mr.gates) You can spend a long time picking out people and getting a concise history. The Miracle of Computers! Hope you enjoy this one- it's interesting to see all that is included. It would prove invaluable assistance to anyone studying history or biographies. Well worth saving for students. Now take a look at this picture..... Painted by Chinese Artists, Dai Dudu, Li Tiezi and Zhang An, oil on canvas, 2006. This painting is truly remarkable. Even more amazing though, is that the canvas has been computerized. When you click on the link below, a much bigger version of the computerized painting appears. Run your cursor over the people. The programme tells you who they are - every single one of them. BUT (click on a person) and you obtain the individual’s life history. This is fascinating... Can keep you busy for hours! http://cliptank.com/PeopleofInfluencePainting.htm

How did you guys find SSA???

I was first introduced to SSA a long time ago. I was initially on the SI forums, stereo integrity, and I purchased a pair of Mag v4 from Nick at the time and Jacob gave me a hell of a good deal on a pair of SAE1000 which I strapped together to power the 2-SI mag v4 subs! I was so impressed with Jacob and what not I proceeded to join the sundown forums which in turn was SSA! and now I find myself sitting on my pc lifeless and... JK lol naw I just got out of school and I am currently looking for a full time job in my field of Instrumentation Control Engineer, which could allow me to work in a distillery or chemical plant, or power plant and then some! I also rep SSA all the time with my hat, dicky, and wool cap! lol and I always tell people to join up and ask question and or just read about it!!

    voltmeter

analog is only as good as your eyes and when the bass is pumping everything vibrates. over time and movement/ fluctuation/ ratting it will be come less accurate and thus wearing out. and this could occur and damage the analog meter right away or maybe in 5 years lol! it all depends on what meter you buy and what not! also when the bass is shaking the needle in the gauge you will not know exactly what the voltage is as the bass will be moving the needle all over the place at best you will be +/- 0.5-1.0 vdc again depending on the meter you buy and how loud your system is/ will be! with a digital one like a stinger they are extremely bright at night time and nearly blinding. I would recommend you find one with an auto dimmer on it! I know Shizzzon on this site sell very nice voltmeters! you should talk to him about them. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/user/2377-shizzzon/ here is a stinger one that I use in my car! it is small and to dim it down i put a piece of cardboard behind the front cover at night time lol! and here is the one that shizzzon sells. it is auto dimmer and works great! and don't mind the install our tow way tape is garbage lol! it will be fixed up with some steel sooner then later

    Reducers

the reducer makes it all look a lot nicer in my opinion and $4 each is a pretty decent deal. The only down side I see with using a reducer is if it is a square tip there will only be 4 small points of contact, but if the tip is in the shape of a D then there is the potential for more surface area coming into contact with the terminal. if you don't really care how it looks just trim the wires up then wrap the end with some heat shrink or black tape so no loose strands touch anything they shouldn't. and be safe! and don't forget to fuse lol! actually what is your electrical setup in your car? I see in your sig you have AQ1200 I know ram design is selling some data safe batteries (50ah) they are similar to the batcap 2000's for a nice price. and If I was using that AQ amp I would buy some of those batteries and wire them with 1/0 or 2/0 and then just go from the battery to 4 awg!

Never seen one of these have you?

So I have never seen one of these amps before and I thought I would share! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160701429820#ht_500wt_1413 http://www.hotwire.net.nz/shop/car-audio/amplifiers/soundstream-human-reign2 also has anyone else seen one of these and maybe can give some insight? when I first seen it I thought of that series staring Bruce Campbel staring in Evil dead and his silly book called the Naturan Demanto or Necronomicon clearly not the same thing but it brought back some old memories of nightmares I had when I was a kid lol!
