    Clipping...

When you check your voltages, check when the car is off First and then when it is running. Could be a bad diode in your alternator. A bad diode will often times cause the alternator to show a lower voltage while running at idle(warmed up), than when the car is off. However when you rev your rpms, voltages almost become normal. And in your video, was that when you hooked up your ipod direct to the amp? because it sounded like you were asking someone to turn it up from the head unit.

Do you have a way of measuring your voltage?

Setting sax 100.4 xover with dmm

The guy in this thread basically had the same questions as I. I thought about bumping it, but it might suit me best to have my own thread. If I want my High Pass crossover point to be at 3.5khz @24db slope, then playing a tone at 3.5KHZ should be half the wattage of what frequency? Should I expect full wattage at 4khz?
  9. Anyone familiar with these amps? I have 3 of them and I am trying to figure out what the switch on the bottom actually does. It has an "H" and "L" which I thought would be high/low pass filter, but it doesn't seem to make an audible difference. Also, Is the Remote and ACC relay on these amps known to go bad?

    Trying to solder

Use a Torch, Even Walmart carries a 2 piece kit for around 15 bucks. And If you want to avoid melting the jacket, drill a Hole in the ring terminal on the side of the ring, so the solder melts and falls down into the wire. Make sure you leave the Jacket side down so Gravity does it's job pulling the solder down.
  11. My belt is just a flat multi-rib belt
  12. The belt on my stock alt is 5/8 inch wide and the alt is the only thing on that belt other than the crank pulley 9.5 inches away. The Alt dealer stated the reason the slippage would occur is due to limited surface area that that the belt has. (I guess 5/8" is a little skinny) How wide is your belt?

    car

  14. I have a 4 groove belt on my lancer and I've been told buy a HO Alt dealer that If I chose a 200 amp unit I would experience belt slip. Does anyone here have a 200 amp alt or higher on a 4 groove belt? If so, does the belt slip on you? I was informed that 150 amp unit would work fine. My stock alt is 85 amperes. I'll be running a Sundown 2000D plus a component amp (undecided which one). Would 150 amp unit and a PowerMaster D3100 + front battery be sufficient power for me?

    Hello From PA

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I only have 1 decent photo of my old setup. I never did much to it, had a plate in the back compartment in place of a sub box. The hatch leaked a little and when the car sat for a couple months due to a blown head gasket, enough water got in and rotted the plate and messed up my subs. There was 2-3 inches of water laying under them.
