Is this active crossover a POS or not
///M5 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Looking to go active in my truck and have found one of these pretty cheap. Very budget oriented system, but would prefer to keep everything active. Does anyone have any thoughts on this beast? http://www.pioneer.be/be/product_detail.js...xonomy_id=25-38 It looks like it will work for what I would use it with: rli10" and a mid-range/tweet combo tbd -

Agreed on both accounts, but 'tis cheap. -
Is it a worn 3rd gear synchro? If so, the fluid won't really help that much. Is it possible that your clutch is about to go? It could be a partially worn synchro with a nearly bad clutch makes third gear unhappy...

went to scare my dog and his head hit my chin when i grabbed him. I swear its made of steel. I cant eat anything cold, to sensitive Ouch, your mouth is gonna look like mine when you are done. I don't think I have any teeth left, just the replacements the dentist puts in. At least Veneer's look better than the originals.

That and I'd be careful with that Thiel box, it looks like it is a bandpass from the pictures (I didn't really read to indepth) and optimized for completely different drivers. My recommendation would be to listen to Mike and port those puppies!

Elias, thanks for the response... Was out in FL for a little vacation in the Keys/Boca Grande areas and had the most frustrating flight experience of my life. Left Miami to fly to Houston, circled Houston for a couple of hours then flew to New Orleans for gas, took off towards Houston circled again for another hour and then finally landed. At this point, we obviously missed our connection and being every other plane had beat us in we had to sleep at the F'in airport. I am not to complete right now, lack of sleep, sore from the floor, and of course when we got there it was too late for the friggin' bar to be open. And now I am working....aaargh!

I'd third that and let you know it is WORLDS better than your first shot...

Indeed, it would take a shatload of energy but I thought I would try and explain why. I actually got paid to do a consulting job a while back measuring the sonic boom of shotgun shells. They were working on making range shells that were quieter to keep complaints to a minimum for people who lived near shootiing ranges. The gun going off sound doesn't travel very far, but the boom surely does. It would make one hell of a hood beater if you had subs that could create sonic booms....

not quite computer related

DSL---d1ck sucking lips?? what do they have to do with a pc? -
Take a step back. To have a sonic boom, you need to exceed the speed of sound which is a constant-720mph. Whether you are playing a 30Hz or 60Hz tone it doesn't effect the velocity of the cone at all unless you hold the displacement constant in which then the 60Hz cone will move at twice the speed. This is all really going to come down to how much energy (power) you throw at it for a certain frequency.

download Foobar it is much, much better

The balance is called your checkbook. You got to pay to play...

I am all ears...you know my truck still needs a sub since someone bought the 10 out from under me.
-
Not sure with the stain, but with polyurethane you NEED to sand it afterwards. 2 box comments though. If you are using ply, use 13 ply birch for a box--way stronger. And the other is I think your baffle and bracing aren't up to your sub. I know you aren't using it, but just had to comment. This coming from a guy who overbuilds everything!
-
Lookin good! Pre-drilling the screw holes will keep it from splitting...I use a few more screws to cover the distance you are spanning as well but I overbuild everything
