    I got mikes opinion

Output for output it will be very similar in SPL, but flatter when the two are sealed up and to me will sound that much better. Oh, and who cares if the cone is nekkid get it anyway. The logo is cool and so is Mike....give him some money.

    amp/component advice

Promo #1 IS-2080 CDT-CL62 $305.00 Promo #2 IS-2100 EF-61 $365.00 Promo #3 IS-2100 EF-61 CF $380.00 Or a build your own: IS-2100 and CDT-CL62 -- $350 **eagerly waiting to be put in your car** Of course if you buy the Rl-p instead of the D2 you have nearly another $250 to put in your front stage...which I would do (and just did), but I have never heard a D2 so my recommendation is unfair and biased based on being able to spend more on the front stage.
  3. Yes! The profile "looks" cheap, but don't take my word on it as I have never used one....but I am scared to.

    Sp 15 Premium to home?

That's great. Might be "ok", but we need a little more info. Actually a question would be good as well? What are you trying to do and what do you currently have? How much money do you want to spend and what do you listen to? What sort of car isn't a bad addition either...

    My Winter Project

    1) Digitize my music collection--started tonight (I think winter did to, it is supposed to snow ) 2) Remove the rust on my 95 Ford PU and glass/bondo/paint it 3) Build a mantle over my fireplace, it needs it badly 4) Hopefully find some 18's for summer tires for my car

6'3" I've got you by 4 inches, but it doesn't help me any
  14. They do own them, but they don't design them. I know the M-Audio is nice, but the a/d d/a setup on the E-Mu was subjectively labelled as better. I spent a long time on Hydrogen and head fi as well as diyaudio to make sure that my decision was okay. And I really only want 2 chn stereo as I have no use for the 5.1/7.1 formats--those are for the HT room. I just want my pc to be a jukebox for all of my CD's and my vinyl which I have to digitize using the board. 1000 LP's helped make the decision for me...
  15. Thanks for the help Jmac, I just bought a 0404 and am about to install. Can't wait to hear the difference from my mobo s card.
  16. I think the linky don't work....
  17. As for cards, I think I am down to: E-Mu 0404 M-Audio Revolution 5.1
  18. A little more research and indeed WMA lossless seems to be the ticket.
  19. I was under the impression that it wasn't really lossless... Any thoughts on sound cards? I really only need 2 chn, but have no problems buying for the future. A good a/d and d/a is required as my stereo equipment is pretty old school. (My cpu will be connected to an Adcom amp that is currently collecting dust). I am looking at: Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 Chaintech AVS-710 (good 2 chn d/a but have no idea on a/d) M-audio Audiophile M-audio Revolution 5.1 or 7.1 E-MU 0404 I am willing to give up gaming sounds for music SQ so it won't be an Audigy or X-Fi card. If the Chaintech had a good a/d for recording 2 chn, it would be the choice. $23 at Newegg with a Wolfson DAC for 2 of the analog channels and a good digital out for the future....

Your welcome. How are they lookin' Supa?

    Front stage.

Spend the money you'd save by only using one set on the install instead it will definetely pay off.

If you voice your frustration with the day manager tomorrow and how it ruined a good portion of your night I am sure they will (and should) comp you something whether it is a nice breakfast, dinner, free night. They are usually pretty good at that.
