  1. Had planned on going passive, but want to look at all of the options. It is hard to find good information on crossovers on any forum. Would love to assemble a shopping list to compare and thought I would see if you would reply with what you are using. Adding an approximate cost would be great too. Thanks!

  3. Ha, ha, ha. Best part of a Dell is the service. Usually if it less than a year old they will give you new batteries. Dell replaced mine multiple times in my older PC's, the LiON I have had good luck with in them.

  6. Thanks DB. I have a similar piece. An SX-20 Carver 2 way electronic crossover that I will temporarily use for setup. Can't find any information on it, I originally bought it about 15 years ago to x-over my sub amp. Back when I was running 3 15" JBL 1500GTi's in the trunk of a 68 Galaxy. Should be good enough for a start until I find a real x-over.
  7. Help if you can, PG is ignoring my emails. I am running my PG M44 bridged to 155@4ohms x 2 to power my front stage; however, the only way I could figure out how to do this is to use RCA Y splitters and run the left RCA to both inputs on one side of the amp and the right to both inputs on the other side. Isn't there a better way to turn the M44 into a 2 channel amp? If/when I go active it will be just running my mids...

  14. Some of the better laptops use what they call a peak/condition charger and it is actually better to leave it plugged in with the battery. Basically has a sense in the charger and will only charge when the voltage is low, after that it goes into conditioning mode. Same way you charge trolling motor batteries for boats, good RC batteries and such. What kind is it that you have a 3Ghz laptop?

Haven't decided whether to attach the SEAS to the car and cut the kick panels around them or to attach to the kickpanels and seal up to the car. Stupid foor rest....

    Recommended Test CD's

Wow, thanks for the replies and it stemmed what i thought was a great idea. Since most of you are going to Dave's and leaving the Minnesotan out of it (by proximity) it would be really cool to assemble an SQ test and setup CD and share it. I'd be glad just to receive one and would be willing to pay for the blanks or do the sharing burn for the VA group. The annual SWVA TeamSSaudio.com meet Compact Disc: 1

    Recommended Test CD's

I have done some searching and can't seem to find a post anywhere that addresses what people like to listen to during the setup of their front stage--not the subwoofer. What CD's or tracks do you guys prefer for setting up the angles of your front speakers and to generally test the imaging and staging of your setup?
  23. Aha, thanks Squeak I did get the message about the analog units but wasn't sure what were and looked at ebay first when I saw the grouping I got excited and thought "screw passives". Will look for digi's and your recommendations. My problem with the H701 is that by the time I pay $300 for one, I might as well just get a new headunit that does all the above and time align.
  24. Hmm, are the EQT's with this 4xs any good? http://cgi.ebay.com/Audio-control-EQT-2-Au...1QQcmdZViewItem
