    Corner adds to port length?

I found these at Home Depot and feel fairly confident in them. They wont fall into the box when installing the screws and, given the length, should have plenty of bite to keep from spinning of pulling out.

If you are talking about the grounding to the frame I recently did, yes, those holes in the frame were already there.

Can somebody model a 10" gcon?

The standard version works as well. Have you tried that? They don't have a direct link to the newest version from their website, for reasons unknown. The link I got came from their facebook page, you can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/WinISD The new version really is a lot better, IMHO. When did you download it? The link on facebook was posted Nov. 2011

Something is wrong with that link? It is on their facebook page as well and just says page cannot be displayed when I click on it.

Newer than what is on their website? I would be suspicious of something like that, unless they are bad about updating their site.

Can somebody model a 10" gcon?

I get occasional crashes with the pro version. The standard version doesn't have quite as many options, but it seems solid and doesn't give me any problems. I'm running Win7 64bit.
  8. I had a feeling there was a problem somewhere in the rca connections after seeing how the splitters were used. Now that it seems that was the issue, would you prefer to stay on two channels or run bridged? We can make sure the rcas get connected correctly.Edit: J is right, checking the other two channels and rca cables would be wise. Could even be the splitters.

Had to tame some rattles on the rear hatch. Glad I did, the sub stage blends much better with the front now. Bare skin Push clips with a little CCF to keep them still. Hard to see, but there is some pieces of CLD in there. Giving the panels a CCF treatment of their own. Closing it back up.

    Corner adds to port length?

I didn't realize there were so many complications with t nuts. I'm just thinking about preventing broken screws as wood screws aren't the thickest fasteners available. The hurricane nuts look like they might be prone to spinning in place?

    Corner adds to port length?

Thanks, it sure is. Trident 18 is soon to arrive. According to torres calc, 5.13ft^3 @ 29.99hz with 103.5in^2 of port. This is with an approximate figure for the sub displacement so I'm sure it will change ever so slightly. 9.39ft^3 gross after double baffle. I am also thinking about using t-nuts on this one.
  14. After seeing the photos and not knowing how absolutely everything was installed, my first plan of attack would be as follows. Simplify what you have going on and forget bridging for now. Use just one set of RCA cable, no splitters. Use just 2 channels(ch 1+2) on the amp and leave the other 2 unused for the moment. Also, was any sort of pre-set eq switched, maybe by accident? I know some units have pre-set curves that can sound terrible.

Ha, that's me. It's always gotta be just right.

    Corner adds to port length?

Putting a 45 in the corner will allow the end of the port to be that close without adding to the effective port length? Edit: I just added 1" to the width of the enclosure and added a 45 in every corner of the box to keep net volume about the same so the port-wall proximity should be a non issue now. Thanks for the quick response Thumpper.
  17. I'll ask again. Was there any crossover being used on the hu before you got the amp? It doesn't sound like it, actually, it sounds to me like you were enjoying the bass of the full(non filtered) signal from the hu going to the speakers. You installed the amp and the amp's crossover chopped off your bass output and you started scratching your head wondering what happened.

  19. Well, I attended my first audio competition yesterday, though I did not compete. I was there just to take it all in and watch how things went, visit with fellow enthusiasts, and have fun. It was a small MECA event. There were a few breaking the 50 mark with a VW bug that hit a 53.5 at around 50hz or so(don't remember exact). I had fun and now I am curious to see where it goes from here, lol.

Damn those things are heavy! Makes the Diehard Platinum G31 look small. Wiring to .5 ohm on the BC3500. I learned the value of a clean signal first hand today. Not the hard way either. Wired at 2 ohm I could get the zcon to warm up after a good beating. Now at .5 ohm it can get more brutal and it's not even warm at all, while paying attention to the voltage and sub control of course. After adding the two hc3800 the voltage hardly flinches. Now I have box hop to contend with.

It keeps hopping towards my amp, I think it likes it. Video proof in the build log now...

  23. Is this issue something that just happened? Like a night and day difference? Or did it happen slowly over time? Was anything changed around the time you noticed things going wrong? Maybe check your power and ground connections. If the connections are as old as the amp(even if they aren't) it might not be a bad idea to check them all at this point. Loose, bent, corroded, etc. if the amp is struggling to make power that it isn't receiving, that would surely cause problems.
