...When you want a 2-door car, and buy a 4-door car just to be able to put a big box in the trunk and still have room for groceries (only on the backseats).

..When you choose your car because the factory head unit is simple and easy to take off.

...When you buy your amps, h u, wiring, speakers and sub weeks before you even choose the car !!!!!!!!!!!

That's me !!!

...when you come to the forums this late at night and u have to get up early for work.

...when your non-car audio freinds roll their eyes when you start talkin about your current or future system.

...when your bedroom has become a storage room and u sleep on the couch.

...when u order stuff cause its a screamin deal even though u dont need it.

...when u lie in bed waiting for the next day so u can bump on your way to work.

...when your girl asks u to come to bed and u insist that u MUST finish your new box TONIGHT!

Wiring a head unit when sitting at a red light.

Changing a friends headunit settings to what u like for the short ride.

^^^^X2

Personal Experiences:

You always drive your car to the club or out of town when their are already two cars going just so you can hear your system.

You get an ebay account cancelled because you committed to buying something but dont buy it because you find something 2 seconds later that you want more.

Then open another account after making a second email address with a different email provider to get that account closed also.

When you and your install buddy call researching car audio as being in the lab.

While working at a movie theatre your cutting holes in your door panels, adjusting amps, rewiring audio equipment or the best of all when your manager goes into the stock room and see's a busted 12" Kicker Cvx sitting their and goes straight to you and ask what is this doing here.

Working on my car in Dallas, Texas and Tallahassee, Florida's 100 degree summer days to sweat all over your equipment and now have rust marks on your amp becaause you werent finished in time to wipe it off.

When your doors panels and back seat cushion is on top of your car while your inside working on it and you have all doors open so air can get in and nobody can park next to you while you work.

Waking up with cuts on your arms, fingers and legs from working on your car the nite before but dont remember how it happened.

When you spend everyday out in your car working on it but have nothing to fix, just visulizing future upgrades.

When you have been unemployed for over a year and a half and spent every day at least two hours a day on a forum researching about cars, engines, batteries, electrical stuff, etc. to make your system perform better.

Blowing a 2 channel amp that can only be bridged to 4 ohms and you have it at 1.34 ohms so you can see how your subs sound before you purchased an amp and still waiting on the amp to get here(january till now)

When your car has been at the shop getting fixed for ove 9 months and your their everyday not to bug the mechanic but asking him to let you work on and he fix other cars till your done fixing what you need.

Dont talk to people while driving because you want to jam and you dont let others talk on the phone neither.

Buy one O2 audio mid-range speaker for $150 and only used it a few weeks.

When shopping for a car and the only driving force is what do the kickpanels look like.

No longer is it a car you would like to own, it is a car that will give you the best soundstage, the deepest kicks, and the furthest seat tracks.

...when you have more money in wire than most have in speakers

...when you'll sell spare computers to buy a sub (ME!)

...when you will sacrifice the backseat for more bass

...when your door speakers cost more than common folk's subwoofers (common folk being people that have systems, like Rockford P2s, that sort of thing)

...when you've had to bag your car because you have too much weight in the back

...when you dont care how fast your car is, just how loud it is

...when you've got a room full of magnets and old speakers (and frames)

...when you have a magnet holding your door open

...when your computer system has your old 6x9's from last setup hooked up as computer speakers

...when you've spent so much on your system you could have bought a new car

...when your sound system is worth more than the car

(oh man, i could go on for hours)

--- when your wife is jealous of your stereo, not cause she wants one! because you spend more time with your speakers than with her.

--- when your wife mentions a blow job, you think HAIR TRICK!

--- when you have a lowrider because of the weight of the subs and batts

--- when you can call out every song you hear by the bass line

--- when you insure your stereo rather than the truck its in

:D

When you got guys that you don't even know come up to you like a celebrity and ask to see your car because they know who you are?!?!

I swear, the other night i was in taco bell's drive thru and 3 guys were walkin behind my car to go into taco bell and noticed my car because it was all lit up and one of the guys came up to me at my window and asked-

:You got the wall, right?"

I was dumbfounded.. i go, Yes?

He said that he works at Toyota and has worked on my car before doing oil changes, of course and wanted his 2 friends to see a "serious setup."

I said sure... they were freaked out what they saw in the car. I couldnt never let them hear it but seein is good enough.

------

When you design setups for other people just to get them loud.

When you do designs for people for free and teach them how to do it to save them the $1000+ fee a shop would charge to do it...

When your pressure reading and your temp gauge read a like the first couple minutes from a startup.

When voltage is more important than tires...
