my name is Quade, i'm somewhat becoming an audiophile and was told this is the best site for subs and anything related. I have a Dodge Ram quad cab, I just built a front to back box for 4 12's. I'm currently deciding what 12s i want! I currently have two RE SE 12s and the xt4000-DE that I'd like to sell. I love that system, but I don't know if I should stick with the REs or go to Treo, JL, new Kicker, who knows what. If worst comes to worst, I'll just buy two more SE's I assume. Anyway, glad to be here, just following the rules. haha. And anybody else have huge truck boxes? Just wondering.

  4. Hey everyone, I'm Brandon and I've been lurking on your boards. Learning, admiring, drooling. I work in the car audio field, but I'm sick of the brands my store carries. I have general questions, but until I gain a little credibility, I won't bother y'all yet. My daily driver is a 2000 quad cab Dakota. Small system installed just to get me by. Alpine 9855 HU, Alpine Type R doors, 8"L5, XD700/5. New truck=new sound. 2000 Harley F150, extended cab, all stock right now. I'm raising the seat up and debating between the sa-8 and the sa-10 I'm more of a sealed box guy, but always willing to step outside my comfort zone. Thanks in advance for the welcomes and help. I…

Well built this Powerwheel for my son to compete in USACi and MidwestSPL competition. I had an old 12" pioneer sub in it but now I am thinking about building a box for an 8" sundown. I have an SA-8 v1 sitting in my garage I am going to play around with. Right now I am using an 10yr old Sony MP70 headunit, along with a 12yrd old American Bass CX-1500 Amplifier. I will post some pictures up as soon as I get my thread count up enough. Plus for some reason my company has Photobucket blocked at work. So it might be tonight before you see anything

Hey everyone. Arthur from Indianapolis here. I am a professional drummer and work as a hired gun for various tours around the world. My most recent tour was a stint with The Blue Man Group and have also played with The Fortunes from Coventry England and others. I got out of car audio for about 15 years and now have dove in again and you guys are spending all of my cash!!!! I have a big Arc audio system but now am in the process of doing the Sundown/ Fi/ Focal/Kinetic/ Alpine system. Amazing what I have learned and relearned on these forums! Thanks, Arthur

I recently purchased a SSA Evil 18in sub, and a 3k rms amp. my first ever real set up so im pretty new to car audio. but i have a question and in need of advice. when i turn up the volume it almost sounds like the subwoofer is bottoming out or making a clicking noise. is this normal or do i need to lower the power on it. or is there more to it than just that?

I wunt 2 kno whose bezt!1 Just Kidding! Hello! I guess you can call me new to the forum. (Though i have been lurking for a good 3 months!) I have decided that instead of pulling a 4chan and lurking for ever, I would join in on the conversation. Especially because i plan on getting a nice system before too long. I'm relatively new to car audio, even though i have been doing some homework on it, and I am a generally cool person. I am also a very funny guy (At the right times, of course) and i like to contribute valuable input on topics that i find interest in. Otherwise there is not much for me to say!

  16. Hey all, 1st virgin cherry-popping post here. Some folks on the CarAudio Forum highly recommended SSA for the outstanding lineup of amps etc. and even better price tags. I'm under the impression that these names here are young, hungry and trying to make a name for themselves while offering great values. So, I've only had 2 amps, both Kickers. One was about 2001, Impulse 405 which sounded great to start but destroyed my Excelon comps. Didn't know what clipping from underpowering was! 2nd was some 180w behemoth and the Alpine 505 IVA DVD player. DEF not high quality sound emphasis. Imprint junk blah blah. But in my Jeep are 2 sets of Diamond Hex 600's about 4y/o. The…

  17. Just bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade. I'm gonna take my 528i in to carmax and sell it for some money for a new system. I'm not sure how much I'll have to spend yet but I was hoping I could get some research done before I set an official budget. I listen to mainly classic dubstep and electronic music that has really, really heavy bass (I'm not talking skrilllex or Doctor P midrange bullshit/midrange dubstep.) So my main concern is taking the bass to the next level. So I've done some research and am more comfortable with the terminology but I still have a couple questions. I'm assuming its going to be necessary to replace my stock amp to power some new subs, but do I ne…

Picked up a Re XTX 5000.1 to run a 15" Z V.3. Right now i'm running a rockford t400-4 to 2 sets of t1675-s. I just put a new 170amp H.O alt and my lights are already dimming. With the new sub arriving friday i will be putting the Re in and don't think this batt will hold up. Any suggestions on a good batt that will keep this thing running smooth?

  20. So I am not really "new" to forums I started out on a different forum and just got tired of all the B.S. over there and went looking for a more informative forum for my car audio needs. Said forum seemed to be more about talking shit about someones set up if they didn't have a certain brand of equipment and not enough helping each other out. Any ways not trying to rant just giving some of my forum exp. I have been watching this forum for awhile now and it seems to be a lot more informative so I am glad to be a new member thanks. I live in Spokane WA. but I was born and raised in Santa Barbara CA. If you would like to know anything else about me just ask

  21. Hello all! My name is Dan and I purchased a 10” DSS Ethos subwoofer a couple years back and I am finally ready to get it installed. I know absolutely NOTHING about this sub. The person I bought it from I have no contact with, however he recommended that I purchase the Crescendo Audio Symphony series S1500.1 amplifier. Like I said I know nothing about this subwoofer. I was wondering what specs I should use as far as building a enclosure. I have a 2013 Focus St Hatchback. I would appreciate any and all feedback as to what kind of enclosure it requires. Thank you all ahead of time. Dan

Just checking in. The last amp I installed in my own car was a Hifonics that was made in the USA and MB Quarts were the speakers to have. Yup, I'm gonna say it, times have changed. After a few weeks of catching up on what has been going on in the car audio world for the last 20+ years, by lurkin' the forums, I landed here. I'd like to say "Thank You" to all of SSA for providing a great place to gather information, ideas and purchase equipment.

My dad found incriminator audio in a magazine ad, and purchased some through SSA, and the amps he got I like so far, and I want to own some of my own, and figured this would be the best place to ask questions about the products, as well as look into what else SSA deals with!

Just your basic introduction here, and a question to kick off my time here. My name is Matt, I'm new to this forum but have been a member of several other forums for many years, so I'll try to refrain from making noob-ish mistakes. Ha. Anyway, I currently have an Alpine CDA-9857 in my truck that's going to be replaced by a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD that's currently in the mail. Also I've got some Polk Audio db6501 Components that are powered by a Rockford Fosgate P400.4, and a brand new 12" Fi Audio SSD powered by a Kenwood KAC-9152D. The Kenwood is getting sold tomorrow morning along with my old Kicker CVX. On the list of things to do is plenty of Raamat BXT, and two new amps…
