New poster to the forum. I was away from car audio for 12 years or so but I gave in to the bug again in the last 6 months. I am shopping for a new sub at this time. Waiting on the GCON to be re-released, as I have been looking at many different subs and it seems to be the best fit in my price range. I bought a JL 12w3 last year but my car audio rust was showing, as I bought it on ebay and it blew with no abuse. Now I am looking to do it right this time and landed here at SSA.

Well built this Powerwheel for my son to compete in USACi and MidwestSPL competition. I had an old 12" pioneer sub in it but now I am thinking about building a box for an 8" sundown. I have an SA-8 v1 sitting in my garage I am going to play around with. Right now I am using an 10yr old Sony MP70 headunit, along with a 12yrd old American Bass CX-1500 Amplifier. Just threw two x18 v.2s in my Yukon in a 15 cu ft box on an SCV4000. Very impressive, but I developed coil rub after just a month. It's really strange because there is no felt rub when you press down on the cone.. Actually, it only rubs when the coil is cold. After I pump one second of true RMS to it, there is magically no rub.. The other sub is fine. I monitor the clipping light religiously and the only time I see a red flash is on the attack peak of bass notes. From what I have researched, a slightly flashing clipping light is pretty normal and a fast flashing light is slightly overpowered. After a few weeks of catching up on what has been going on in the car audio world for the last 20+ years, by lurkin' the forums, I landed here. Hi, I'm new to SSA but I'm on lots of other forums (12volt, clublexus, lexusownersclub, b20vtech, ect.) under the same screen name. I have completed a few very basic automotive audio setups in the past but I figure this is probably a great place to stay up to date. my name is Quade, i'm somewhat becoming an audiophile and was told this is the best site for subs and anything related. I have a Dodge Ram quad cab, I just built a front to back box for 4 12's. I'm currently deciding what 12s i want! I currently have two RE SE 12s and the xt4000-DE that I'd like to sell. I love that system, but I don't know if I should stick with the REs or go to Treo, JL, new Kicker, who knows what. If worst comes to worst, I'll just buy two more SE's I assume. Anyway, glad to be here, just following the rules. haha. And anybody else have huge truck boxes? Just wondering.

Picked up a Re XTX 5000.1 to run a 15" Z V.3. Right now i'm running a rockford t400-4 to 2 sets of t1675-s. I just put a new 170amp H.O alt and my lights are already dimming. With the new sub arriving friday i will be putting the Re in and don't think this batt will hold up. Any suggestions on a good batt that will keep this thing running smooth?

Looking for suggestions on what subs to run . I've used kicker, fosgate , jl and alpine in the past but it has been a long time since I've had anything better than factory . Hay guys i got two questions about my setup. 2011 f150 with factory charging system with extra 1000 cca marine batterie "not a audio battery". I'm running 2 sae1500d amp on 4 sa15 subs. They are the rev3's and are 2ohm coil's. I am running the amps seperat gain matched "to the best of my ability" and I'm at . 5 ohms at each amp not counting rise. I have the rear seat out and built a good sturdy enclosure that's sealed good with a port that's tuned to 35 hertz.
