Just checking in. The last amp I installed in my own car was a Hifonics that was made in the USA and MB Quarts were the speakers to have. Yup, I'm gonna say it, times have changed. After a few weeks of catching up on what has been going on in the car audio world for the last 20+ years, by lurkin' the forums, I landed here. I'd like to say "Thank You" to all of SSA for providing a great place to gather information, ideas and purchase equipment.

Hi; I got here via my build thread on "The IB cult site", Mike R DIY IB subwoofer project. As newbie here this is my 1st post. To make a long story sorta short, I'm finishing my basement and doing a Home Theatre room, and I'm going with Infinite Baffle subwoofer 4 x 15" (or 18") line array. Here is a pict of that image (details in link above): I cut the concrete window this past weekend and now I need to fill that hole with a IB line array subwoofer! 16" x 66" IB sub "window" from HT side 16" x 66" IB sub "window" from utility room side: Now, I'm at the detail design stage and soon part(s) buying stage. I'll be back here as I do some research into my IB subwoofer opti…

Hello All, I'm still an amateur (not quite a noob) in the car audio game, but I enjoy learning. It looks like you have a great forum here. I just ordered 2 12" D1 XCons to go in the trunk of my Pontiac G6. It feels like Christmas is coming 2 months early!! Yeehaaa!! From what I have read the SSA subs get nothing but praise, so I can't frikkn wait! I haven't done a ton of research on this yet, but I'll ask it here anyway. How would you recommend I configure my subs in the trunk? I have roughly 4ft^3 to play with. This leaves very little space on either side of the box for air to push into the passenger compartment with the back seats folded down. I also h…

So I am not really "new" to forums I started out on a different forum and just got tired of all the B.S. over there and went looking for a more informative forum for my car audio needs. Said forum seemed to be more about talking shit about someones set up if they didn't have a certain brand of equipment and not enough helping each other out. Any ways not trying to rant just giving some of my forum exp. I have been watching this forum for awhile now and it seems to be a lot more informative so I am glad to be a new member thanks. I live in Spokane WA. but I was born and raised in Santa Barbara CA. If you would like to know anything else about me just ask

Hello everyone, I am working on overhauling my current 2007 Civic coupe install to a comp worthy trunk class build. The brains of the system is a Sony CDX-C90/ XDP-210EQ combo. A McIntosh powered (MC425 and MC427) Exodus/ Vifa front stage is in the stock locations. The current sub-stage is JBL GT4-12's powered by a Kicker ZX1000.1. The electrical is stock except for a single run of 1/0 KnuKoncepts cable. The overhaul will still include a McIntosh powered front stage, but the subs and subs powerplant will get yanked out in favor of 15's(or maybe triple 12's) and a 3-5kW amp. I am shooting for 150's. Electrical is first on the list...

I recently purchased a SSA Evil 18in sub, and a 3k rms amp. my first ever real set up so im pretty new to car audio. but i have a question and in need of advice. when i turn up the volume it almost sounds like the subwoofer is bottoming out or making a clicking noise. is this normal or do i need to lower the power on it. or is there more to it than just that?

Hey everyone, I'm Brandon and I've been lurking on your boards. Learning, admiring, drooling. I work in the car audio field, but I'm sick of the brands my store carries. I have general questions, but until I gain a little credibility, I won't bother y'all yet. My daily driver is a 2000 quad cab Dakota. Small system installed just to get me by. Alpine 9855 HU, Alpine Type R doors, 8"L5, XD700/5. New truck=new sound. 2000 Harley F150, extended cab, all stock right now. I'm raising the seat up and debating between the sa-8 and the sa-10 I'm more of a sealed box guy, but always willing to step outside my comfort zone. Thanks in advance for the welcomes and help. I…

I wunt 2 kno whose bezt!1 Just Kidding! Hello! I guess you can call me new to the forum. (Though i have been lurking for a good 3 months!) I have decided that instead of pulling a 4chan and lurking for ever, I would join in on the conversation. Especially because i plan on getting a nice system before too long. I'm relatively new to car audio, even though i have been doing some homework on it, and I am a generally cool person. I am also a very funny guy (At the right times, of course) and i like to contribute valuable input on topics that i find interest in. Otherwise there is not much for me to say!

I cant seem to make up my mind on the subs I am looking at. the two that have my attention are the ssa zcon 18" and the sundown z v3 18". I am waiting on my crescendo bc2000D's. leaning more towards the zcon. Amp and sub are both 2250 rms @1 ohm. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

my name is Quade, i'm somewhat becoming an audiophile and was told this is the best site for subs and anything related. I have a Dodge Ram quad cab, I just built a front to back box for 4 12's. I'm currently deciding what 12s i want! I currently have two RE SE 12s and the xt4000-DE that I'd like to sell. I love that system, but I don't know if I should stick with the REs or go to Treo, JL, new Kicker, who knows what. If worst comes to worst, I'll just buy two more SE's I assume. Anyway, glad to be here, just following the rules. haha. And anybody else have huge truck boxes? Just wondering.

What's up, my brand came here so I followed. I am pretty active on a few forums and do the whole YouTube thing. Most know me from my truck, The Black Nasty. I am pretty laid back and honest, also if you come off as a dick, I will be one right back, so suck it up.

My dad found incriminator audio in a magazine ad, and purchased some through SSA, and the amps he got I like so far, and I want to own some of my own, and figured this would be the best place to ask questions about the products, as well as look into what else SSA deals with!

Just bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade. I'm gonna take my 528i in to carmax and sell it for some money for a new system. I'm not sure how much I'll have to spend yet but I was hoping I could get some research done before I set an official budget. I listen to mainly classic dubstep and electronic music that has really, really heavy bass (I'm not talking skrilllex or Doctor P midrange bullshit/midrange dubstep.) So my main concern is taking the bass to the next level. So I've done some research and am more comfortable with the terminology but I still have a couple questions. I'm assuming its going to be necessary to replace my stock amp to power some new subs, but do I ne…

Just your basic introduction here, and a question to kick off my time here. My name is Matt, I'm new to this forum but have been a member of several other forums for many years, so I'll try to refrain from making noob-ish mistakes. Ha. Anyway, I currently have an Alpine CDA-9857 in my truck that's going to be replaced by a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD that's currently in the mail. Also I've got some Polk Audio db6501 Components that are powered by a Rockford Fosgate P400.4, and a brand new 12" Fi Audio SSD powered by a Kenwood KAC-9152D. The Kenwood is getting sold tomorrow morning along with my old Kicker CVX. On the list of things to do is plenty of Raamat BXT, and two new amps…
