Hi SSA, I have been looking around car audio forums and have decided that this would be the best place to join as I am trying to get honest answers to some questions that I have about a system that I want to build. A bit of background on me. I am a resident of New Mexico and have a degree in EE. I have always enjoyed listening to all types of music and consider myself, at least somewhat, an listening enthusiast. I had an '03 Toyota Matrix upgraded with two of the OLD Alpine type R 10" subwoofers, Alpine head unit and a whole host of different components powered off a 45W alpine 4 channel amp. Aloha! Screenname is carshateme and if you've been on other car audio forums, you'll see me there as well. Just learned about this one..decided to join. Trying to learn everything I can and get good deals on stuff as well. I'm mostly being used stuff..since they're practically the same as new stuff, don't see why I should spend extra money for something that'll perform just as good at a lower price. Looking for a few amps. So I'll be posting around.

I have been a long time audio enthusiast but always went with the prepackaged systems. Did lots of research a few years ago and finally designed my own system. Now looking for some upgrades and was hoping to take advantage of some of the expertise available on these forums. Thanks

I figured I would stop by again and check the forum out. Im trying to find information on repairing a 5.25 midrange tinsel lead. Its on a Kicker ss56.2 mid. I have the break located in a section that is under a wrap that holds lead to underside of cone. Any tips opinion or exp with a similar issue is appreciated

Hello All, I'm still an amateur (not quite a noob) in the car audio game, but I enjoy learning. It looks like you have a great forum here. I just ordered 2 12" D1 XCons to go in the trunk of my Pontiac G6. It feels like Christmas is coming 2 months early!! Yeehaaa!! It has a Mechman 240A alternator, Diehard Platinum 31M AGM battery, and big 3 completed in it. Running a JVC arsenal KD-A845BT deck, with Kenwood KFC-P709PS components and KFC-X173 coaxes powered off the deck (nothing fancy, but wasn't looking to kill my check book over door speakers.) Well built this Powerwheel for my son to compete in USACi and MidwestSPL competition. I had an old 12" pioneer sub in it but now I am thinking about building a box for an 8" sundown. I have an SA-8 v1 sitting in my garage I am going to play around with. Right now I am using an 10yr old Sony MP70 headunit, along with a 12yrd old American Bass CX-1500 Amplifier.
