Hi everyone.. I'm a (almost) 42 year old from Ada, Michigan. I've been fascinated with car audio since I was 16. I worked at a car audio retailer for a while, and continue to install as a hobby. I love to design and build subwoofer enclosures. I'm constantly trying different woofer /enclosure combos, which drives my wife up the wall. I truly enjoy listening to different setups in different vehicles.. Every system has its own quirks and qualities, which is what car audio should be about, and what makes it so fun. I drive an '06 KIA Spectra, with a healthy mix of older and newer gear. Glad to be here.. Ken

well, as you can tell im new to the forum. im sorta new to the whole audio world but ive been into it for the past 2 years. my names cody and im from south mississippi. as far south as you can get w/o getting your feet wet actually. right now my current setup is a memphis mojo 10 and a pr 500.1 amp. i know the amp kinda blows but im in the process of selling both things and going to get 4 dd 9510 series. i should have 2 after saturday because of my bday. cant wait to see what this forum is all about. i know i will get all the help i need and then some. later

Yo i'm a lil' southern boy from charleston SC haha and i was lookin for some help on my system setup. What i have planned so far is a 10" 2 ohm FI Q for my acura rsx. (It's a hatchback and there's nothing between the seats and the trunk) I already have some polk component speakers which will do for now. For the amp situation i was thinkin either a dsc1000.1 ( DSC1000.1 - MB Quart 1 Ch 1000 Watt Amplifier ) for the "Q" and a 4 channel discuss amp for the tweeters and front speakers, or 1 discuss amp, and a sundown audio amp wherever it would be better suited (4 chan. or mono) Sorry if that made no sense. Hello, before i begin my article I wanted to list out all the specs, measurements of everything i wanted to put in this car. To tell you I'm only 16 and i'll be getting my drivers licence soon and I wanted to put a system in right when i get this car. Electrical specs: I would be having everything from battery to alternator that was already put there during the manufactor process. So 1 200-300 volt hour battery with a regular stock alternator. I will be buying 1/0 gauge wires going from the front to the back for the amp. A fuse holder that runs from the battery to the amp. hello, im andy. i currently have a 12" RE MX with a SPL 2000D amp with 2 batteries 150amp alternator, and seas lotus reference comps (looking for some tweeters) im looking to upgrade my re mx, this is pretty much how it is atm, im going to strip everything out the rear and start again, am getting another big battery to keep a more stable Voltage. im thinking about a 18" BTL but i need your recommendations on box design, port and sub positioning...... my car: Vw lupo thanks

Been out of it a couple years, and just miss the scene....Actually came on here because I was looking for a new sub to play with for my daily driver...just pre-ordered a Sundown SA-8, really intrigued me. hey everyone im new here.. im looking to get either 2 12inch fi btl subwoofers, or one 15inch fi btl subwoofer.. im going to have to fabricate a box for my car, i have a 97 lexus sc400 , i currently done the big 3 , have 4gauge wirers running to the trunk where i have a alpine mdf 1000 amp powering a mtx 5500 tripple sledge hammer box. the bass from that dosent do it for me, so im wondering what you guys would think is better or my car i listen to rap hiphop music, i read that my trunk capacity is 9 cubic feet,

Found this site looking for ideas for my 2013 f150 platinum. Currently running alpine mv 500 to two alpine bass 10". And alpine mv 500 four channel to front jbl gto component speakers. After reading the noobie warnings, I will be looking around trying to not get booted. As I have a lot to learn. So, I'll be lurking in the shadows.
