Hey guys, need some help.live been competing for years so I have some knowledge, but I'm not up to date on the power I need to supply the amp I'm wanting to go with. I have a 220 amp alt. And hc 2400 kinetik. I'm.going to b running two fi bl 12's dual 2 on a sundown 3500d. Daily will b run at 1 ohm and compete at .5 ohm. Do I have enough power to push the amp to full potential? All help and suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Right now i have 2 audiopipe apsm 1500 on two sa 12s i will be gettin 2 more sa's so my question is what will be the best amp to.run all 4 so i can have just one amp to power my subs

Whats goin yall im gladi found this site u can and should learn alotta stuff on here .i know i am just sold my l7 15s and plan on runnin four sa 12's i have two on the way hopefully a be here next but i will be needin a n,ice ported box once i get.the other two sand it will be goin in a 99 vic so i have plenty of trunk room for a nice setup any builders readin this let me know if ur willin yo help out would be very apperciated!!!!

I have no experience in enclosure construction at all and have been tearing through forums for some helpful advise in enclosure designs. I am pretty confused at this point about some things and was wondering if anyone could clear it up? I am under the impression that if a certain speaker is in a smaller enclosure that it will handle more power and a larger enclosure will be more efficient (less box rise). so if that is true, will they be equal in spl if they receive the same amount of power (after rise) rather its in a "smaller" or "larger" enclosure? i have also heard of people covering ports to play with their tuning, is this just a solid cover reducing the height/width…

...and I fall under the noob, newb, nub category...but I got my first system about 20 years ago I haven't been really that dedicated to this hobby, so I have plenty of ignorance. But this place seems like it's full of knowledge, and I have questions, so let's party!

looking to up my reserve power for my system in a 2008 grand prix.i currently have a 220 amp singer alt.with a 3 year old yellow top that has been used and abused. the yellow top has enough power to power the car perfectly but drains fast unless im drivin around.im running a 1200 watt rms amp and am going to a 2k soon...just looking to up my reserve power as cheap and as smart as possible.

helloooooo everyone.Im from Saskatchewan Canada this is my first time joining a car audio forum. ive been around car audio for around 8 years but just recently got serious with it and ordered 2 18" icons!!!!! looking forward to reading this vast wealth of knowledge and learn as much as possible.

i have 1 15 inch ascendant audio havoc....it dosent have much play on it.the basket is broke on it and it seems to be over heating.i hit a 143.1 on a term lab though ,even broke..the question is ....a friend of mine just offer me 300$ cash for it even though it is broke.if i do sell 300$ is all i have to spend on a new sub....should i sell...recone and get the basket fixed?if i do sell i was looking at a ssa icon 18 or 15 ....same rms but will it be just as loud or louder......any suggestions for subs ....they are going into a trunk of a grand prix....just scared that its going to pop due to the basket being broke and it over heating.

To start i think the forum rules are hilarious there was no pulling punches but sensible nonetheless. I drive a 2012 jeep compass with the uconnect and boston acoustic amplified 9 speaker system. I have had a few different sub stages, quite a few different head units and a couple coaxials i have also done around 7 installs for experts and am learning everything as time goes on. I listen to literally every type of music which makes picking my equipment interesting and i am also broke thereby making it even harder. Hello everyone. I was browsing this forum and it looks like the people here are more mature than other forums.......you know which one... anyways, I have a sundown saz1500d v1 and an american bass VFL extreme 15" All stock wiring and stock battery and I have 4awg about 4 feet to the battery which is located in the trunk. The sub slams pretty hard, but I notice a wierd burning rubber smell when I play it loud (not normal car rubber. It's more toxic, if that makes sense. A guy from CL said that I'm probably clipping the sub since I have all stock wiring. Would a second battery do the trick? Any help appreciated. Car is a 2010 HHR LT

Apparently our first three posts are supposed to be here, so I want to jump right in, haha. Don't judge, but I want to wall two fifteens in my 2001 Jetta. I have very minimal experience sadly, and don't care about ruining the car too much.
