My name is Colby. I go by either Colby, NC, Norcal or zccolby (youtube). I am new to the forum, but not new to audio. I have minimal hands on expereince due to lack of funds, however I have dedicated much of my time to research. I spend hours each day designing, reading, or watching videos on topics related to audio. I am working my way through the Loud Speaker Design Cookbook and have been through plenty of advanced math and physics courses. I live in Sacramento, CA, but went to college in San Luis Obispo, CA. I am all about having a community, so you will find me helping people whenever I can. I might have a minor single sub build coming up shortly so if that goes well …

Hello everyone. I was browsing this forum and it looks like the people here are more mature than other forums.......you know which one... anyways, I have a sundown saz1500d v1 and an american bass VFL extreme 15" All stock wiring and stock battery and I have 4awg about 4 feet to the battery which is located in the trunk. The sub slams pretty hard, but I notice a wierd burning rubber smell when I play it loud (not normal car rubber. It's more toxic, if that makes sense. A guy from CL said that I'm probably clipping the sub since I have all stock wiring. Would a second battery do the trick? Any help appreciated. Car is a 2010 HHR LT

To start i think the forum rules are hilarious there was no pulling punches but sensible nonetheless. I drive a 2012 jeep compass with the uconnect and boston acoustic amplified 9 speaker system. I have had a few different sub stages, quite a few different head units and a couple coaxials i have also done around 7 installs for experts and am learning everything as time goes on. I listen to literally every type of music which makes picking my equipment interesting and i am also broke thereby making it even harder. Last but not least if it wwas not abundantly clear i cannot punctuate or use grammar to dave my life im really trying here for y'all because it is in the rules b…

Hows every doing! My names Kyle I live in clarkston MI and just got my 2 12" Zcons finally installed. This is in a 2002 z28 Camaro haha yes I've seen Steve's walled off maro but I could never do that to my car. Anyway I'm usuing a soundstream xxx6500d for the subs now and they slam! There in a crappy box to that rests on my folded down back seats. Working on a box for my Ttop well box is actually a t line tuned to 36hz. Blows away a lot of my friends systems besides my buddy Dan who has 6 18" icons in a 4th order hahahaha anyway enough of my talking I'll post some quick pics

EH! SSA! You guys are my saviours for audio. Best place to buy specialty audio that shippes to Canada without depleating my wallet! So, naturally, when I found out you had a forum I joined. I hope I can learn some stuff to tell my buddies who ask me a lot of questions, and maybe get a chance to share some audio tips that we run up here in canada! Props to SSA!
