  2. Hello, I have a SAZ1500v3 and I'm curious to hear some opinions/thoughts on the clipping light that's on the bass knob. Do you guys absolutely make sure that your light doesn't flicker what so ever...or will a small amount of flickering not be anything to worry about? My current frustrations are all revolved around this. I feel like my clipping signal is somewhat premature. I drive a 2013 optima SX. Stock HU/alternator/battery under the hood. I have a Stinger battery in trunk. 0g wiring. 1 dual 2 ohm 12" Fi BL running off the SAZ1500v3 wired at 1ohm in a ported Khaotik enclosure. (I'm aware that I sound like a total noob right now). The shop that installed everything al…

I am curious to know how many watts would be concidered enough in a "daily driver"? I know that the threshold of pain (in the ear) is around 120db's. What kind of watts are needed to acheive that. I have been around the car audio realm for the better part of 15 years but it has always been a "bigger is louder is better" way of thinking. I never really looked into the science of sound and why it all works. I am learning a great deal from this site. My very first system was an 18 inch cerwin vega powered by a 400 watt california profile amp and a kenwood tape deck. The last system I had was 2 15 inch type r powered by a 1000 watt phoenix gold amp and a pioneer p9. I now am…

  10. My dads sending me a new Fi BL15 in a month or so and he's leaving it up to me to find an amp to match its 1000w rms. It has the dual 2-ohm coil option also. I'm trying to find a decent amp that will push it for under $200, i know its a stretch, but if anybody can help me out I'd appreciate it.

  11. Hi all! Thanks for having me! My name is Brandon and I drive a '94 F-150 I've always been into car audio but its always been major brands like Kicker and Alpine. I finally decided to get some SA-8s. I got a good deal on a new set on V1s. I have 2 Sa-8 V1s. The box I am using is a Ground Shaker SPQ28 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_62689_Ground-Shaker-SQP-2-8.html. My amplifier is a Hifonics HFI1500 @ 2 ohm. They are brand new and have about 3-5 hours of play time on them. On some songs there is what sounds like a mechanical sound. Like its slapping inside of itself. Also the dust cap gets a pretty warm. I want to eventually rewire them down to 1 ohm but i want to ma…

Just curious how you guys (and girls) cover your subs when leaving your vehicle for the night. I need a new ideal and I'm sure I'm not the only one getting bitched at by the wife for stealing a bed sheet to cover my subs at night. Wish my truck had a trunk to hide them in.

I'm a noobie on car audio, but people around my area love me for what I do. If you're from Houston, hit me up! I'd love to hear your system, or let you hear mine! Mine is pretty basic at the moment, I'm fixing to sell my whole system and get a single 15" or 18". Anyways, hi everyone!

I would love if some if you guys give me some recommendations on what kind of set-up to get. I have the factory setup on my 2005 Acura TSX I was looking to upgrade such system if possible at all. I was thinking of adding an amplifier and maybe a subwoofer to start. I currently have a $700 budget that can be used towards upgrading the audio on my car. Thanks for your help.

Hey guys, I'm new to the ssa community and I just had a question about whether I would be better off with 2 12's (most likely fi q 12's ported and tuned low) or one really loud 15 (most likely a DC xl 15)..obviously ported.. Ok first of all, ill start with the basics..I drive a Volkswagen jetta so the most I can squeeze is 3.5-4 cu. ft...and for power I've got the audioque 2200d and a 220 ho alternator with 1 red top (starter battery) and the big 3 with 4 Ga...now given my trunk is relatively small..I would probably be better off with 3.5 cu. Ft. Recommended for the DC xl but..its taller and would most likely not have enough air space to bounce back off of my trunk lid or…
