My dads sending me a new Fi BL15 in a month or so and he's leaving it up to me to find an amp to match its 1000w rms. It has the dual 2-ohm coil option also. I'm trying to find a decent amp that will push it for under $200, i know its a stretch, but if anybody can help me out I'd appreciate it.

Alright I have a 02 KIA Spectra, the alternator I am running is 300 amp. I have 4 cubeic box with two 12inch Zv4's. Its tuned to 45hz. I have recently upgraded my amp from a Hifonics Brutus 2500wtt to Sundown 4000 watt amp. I also have a XS power D3100 battery. All the wiring is 1/0 gauge. I am being told from friends that its fine for running a burp in competition, but not enough power for demos or sustand listening. I think I should be ok? Just second guessing myself. Hopefully I gave enough info?

Just curious how you guys (and girls) cover your subs when leaving your vehicle for the night. I need a new ideal and I'm sure I'm not the only one getting bitched at by the wife for stealing a bed sheet to cover my subs at night. Wish my truck had a trunk to hide them in.

Hi all, It's been over a decade since I've been into car audio. Thinking about restarting in stealth mode with a shallow mount sub. No longer a basshead and been out so long. Can't believe the Brahma is back. I "donated" a Mk I when I moved a few years back.

I am curious to know how many watts would be concidered enough in a "daily driver"? I know that the threshold of pain (in the ear) is around 120db's. What kind of watts are needed to acheive that. I have been around the car audio realm for the better part of 15 years but it has always been a "bigger is louder is better" way of thinking. I never really looked into the science of sound and why it all works. I am learning a great deal from this site. My very first system was an 18 inch cerwin vega powered by a 400 watt california profile amp and a kenwood tape deck. The last system I had was 2 15 inch type r powered by a 1000 watt phoenix gold amp and a pioneer p9. I now am…

Howdy folks! My name is Ken, and I'm from Ada, Michigan. At 41 I've seen and heard alot in car audio. I spent a few years installing in local shops and in my garage. My first system consisted of: a Hitachi 321AR tape deck. a Concord CA30-4 amp, a pair of Polk 6x9's in the rear deck, and a pair of Bazooka 6 1/2" Bass Tubes in the trunk. That stuff was transported in a '77 Chrysler Cordoba (I was 18..). These days, I roll around in a 2006 KIA Spectra. I'm constantly experimenting with my gear, trying new ideas and components. Drives my wife up a wall. I currently have an older Panasonic CD player (5 volt outs), an OLD Ultimate Sound US2125 pushing my MB Quart 6 1/2" separa…

Just dropping by to say hey to everybody. I'm waaay too old for this, but I'm doing it again. I've been a fan of car audio since I heard my first real system back in 1984. There was a guy named Sid who owned a car stereo store, and he came by to show off his new install in his 76 or 77 Monte Carlo. It was a typical installer's car... Wires all over the place, cassette deck sitting on the hump. It had a single sub firing up through the parcel shelf under that big "V" back glass. He played "One Thing Leads to Another", by The Fixx. I got queasy from the bass, and I've been looking for that same feeling ever since. My new system is about to come together in my 1986 Toyota T…

Hey guys, brand new to the world of car audio and just had a few questions! Planning to get two 12" icons, and being 1250watts each looking for a good 2500 watt amp...but I was wondering is it better to get an amp around 2500-3000 watt or two seperate at 1250-1500 watts? Also to be able to run these I plan on getting an xs battery but which should I get? I also plan on doing the "Big 3", but is there anything else I should do? Thanks for the help everyone, like I said complately blind in this world but really want to learn!

My name is Sharpie, and I am an audioholic. Current goals for my Mazda6, is SQ. I frequented these forums 4-5 years ago under name tag A Broke Ninja and remembered how helpful everyone was, and I thank you all for that - it’s why I’ve returned since I’ve gotten back into this hobby.

Demin asked that I drop in and check out the boards. My name is Pete and live in Maryland. I own a 97 Ford Explorer XLT w/ 121k and a 2000 Ford Contour SVT that's getting a new engine w/ 5,800 on the clock. I love working on my car to get a good blend of performance, appearance and audio. I do almost all my own work - just pulled the 2.5 engine out and dropping in a 3.0. I should be handing many a car their asses once it's done. I wont bore you with all the details but here are a few for my SVT: Silver Frost Midnight Blue leather interior process of dropping in a 3 liter engine SPEC stage 1 clutch SPEC flywheel Torsen LSD BAER brakes SHM long tube headers Bassani cat-…
