Hello all I have been a lurker around a few forums for a long time and not new to car audio, but i recently got a new car (2001 audi a4) and want to take it to the next level. So I have been doing alot of searching and reading (hours a day) and posting a few places but i find myself reading posts here often so i thought i should just ask and get your opinions. ok so basically I bought an amp and sub and box for $650 with tax from the local car audio shop. The prices were the same as cructchfield for the amp and sub. The problem is the "universal" ported box they gave me for $50. I did a lot of research and it turns out the box needs to be specifically built for the sub or it can damage it and not hit hard enough. The sub hits pretty hard as is but it definitely doesn't feel like it's getting it's potential My sub is a JL 12w3v3-4 and the amp is an RF P500-2 My main question is: Should I take the universal box back and get a $50 credit towards the custom box (which will probably be marked up a ton) or cut my losses, try to sell …

Hi all at SSA. Recently got a new car, and making some audio changes. I was leasing a 2010 Rogue that I put RSD coaxs in, and a Planet Audio P2250D powering two SA-10s. Got out of the lease, and in to an 07 Altima 2.5s. Big difference going from an open enviroment back to a trunk. Still have the SA-10s, now using a Cadence ZRS-C65 since the PA blew some mosfets. Switching the coaxs for comps powered by a DSC480. Anyway, Im sure Ill have some questions along the way, and will share what I can as things are done. Not sure what else to add here in an intro thread.

Hey whats up guys I just registered a few days ago but I finally decided to make my first post. Well I'm 16 years old and I drive a 04 Chevy Trailblazer. I dont have much done to it at all. So far this is my current setup: Headunit: Pioneer DEH-P980BT Speakers: some ok Pioneer 6.5's my cousin gave to me for free. They aren't that great but they sound way better than my stock ones anyway. I'm saving up for a better front stage though. Sub: 12" Fi Q in a ported box i made that is 2.5 cuft^3 after displacement tuned to 32hz. But since its my first box I have ever made I dont know if it really is lol. Whats up y'all? I found this site in my search for info. on Fi subs. I liked what I saw as far as people helping out more than on other forums. I'm putting together a 1998 Nissan Maxima. Planning on doing a SQ(L) set-up. Only thing I have bought so far is a set of CDT HD-62/M6 components, but I'm not in any rush since my car should be in the body shop for a couple more months.

Hey guys, I am looking for ideas/knowledge on setting a IB setup in my cruze. I have not purchased any subs yet. I do not want a box, do not want to break windows. Just want a nice solid punch. I am thinking going to a IB setup so I still have my trunk but not sure where to go for this. Against the seat's or maybe rear deck? Any idea's? Any of you guys have worked on a cruze? I have a zed audio 600 watt mono I would like to use to save money on this build. The rear deck had to empty holes in it (6x9) Not sure if I have room to enlarge the holes to put 8's. Need to measure. thanks!
