What's up. I'm Mana, just figured I'd introduce myself. I been a long time bass head, but always observing and obsorbing any and all information I can get. I drive a Dodge challenger and dropped a system in it. Just picked up an hdc4 made a box but idk isn't what I'm expecting. It's Loud don't get me wrong but it doesn't quite fulfill everything I was hoping for. Could be the box, idk. That's why I'm here, to hopefully get some info on it. It sounds hollow, idk if it's bottoming out, because I'd play songs with a different sub and box and it wouldn't make that sound. The amps I'm using is 2 soundqubed 1200.1 strapped. In a birch wood made 4.15 cuft after a…

I am trying to put together quality budget system for 60yr mans street rod.Looking at single 4or5 channel amp comps in front, coax for rear fill off of head unit and single 10 or 12 ,but would consider an 8 or pair of 8's.Car has full dynamat interior.Components will most likely be in lower front corner of doors,so tweeter location is unknown but most likely next to mid.Amp will be bridged on rear two channels for sub, remote sub nob would be nice.Sub depth is a concern +/- 6inches Speaker I have heard and liked. Polk mm.S329 Pioneer ts-d $200 Polks not worth extra $ but have better bottom end Bravox cs60k or carbon fibers ,have not heard Amps looking at cadence Ia4,arc…

  9. Hello all, My current system consists of all Kicker mids/highs in an '04 Accord. I have an Alpine MRV-M500 at 2 ohms connected to a Polk DXi DVC 12" in a sealed, rear-firing custom enclosure that measures around 1 cu ft (maybe a little more). Listen to all kinds of music, love heavy bass but am realistic with expectations from only 500 watts. I smoked the voice coil on the Polk within 4 months of installing it. It was rated for 360 watts rms and I got it in a Best Buy deal of the day sale for $40, so no big loss. I'm searching for a 4ohm dvc sub that will easily handle 500 watts from the Alpine sub amp without burning another voice coil AND will be happy in that s…

My car is a 2010 Mustang convertible and has little room for anything.Would there be any issues with putting the crossovers next to the amp? They are big, 6"x41/2" x2". I know it would entail running more wire but I have a large roll. I have a thing for the Zed Leviathan and I think they would look good next to it.

  13. Hey all, New here, but not to forums. Found this site through CarAudio/DIYMA or something. I have limited knowledge of car audio stuff, I haven't installed or had anything nice to listen to for 10 years now. Truck is an '07 Ram Mega Cab, so I have ample space behind the rear seats. So far I have: Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT Focal 165 V30 JBL GTO 1004 (on the way, $100 recent Best Buy sale) Have my wiring (AudioTechnix 1/0 OFC), need terminals/distro blocks/etc. AudioTechnix 80mil sound deadener Currently I'm reading about and researching subs/amps, and whether I want Luxury Liner Pro, or SDS CCF + MLV for the last pieces of the puzzle. I read rules 14-18, so I will not use SPL/…

Hi everyone. Im new to this board, but not new to car audio or car audio message boards. I have been a member on CarAudio.com since 2002 with a great reputation. So I'd like to say Hi and hopefully I can contribute a little bit. I am trying to sell two of my BNIB TC Sounds LMS-R 12's so that I can make my Pre-Order for the new SA-8 V2's. My question is, how many post do I need to have in order to post my subs for sale? I looked on the For Sale section and did not see that there was a minimum posts amount to post in that forum. There simply is not a "Post New Topic" button in the For Sale Section for me. Thanks guys!

Hello all - Just thought I would say hello. I own a few large forums myself. Lincoln vs Cadillac forums, for you luxury car owners, and I also own a popular Classic Mopar Forum. But, I have my own audio interests so I signed on here. Hello everyone! I own a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII and a 1968 Lincoln Conti I am currently restoring. Here are some Photos of the Mark VIII and the car audio system I have installed. I am thinking about upgrading to the new Pioneer AVIC-Z3 Series - so I wanted to know if you guys had any thoughts?

  17. Hello there, community. This is the first time I’ve actually joined an audio community and posted/commented within a thread. I’ve browsed many threads on various forums, which include the SSA forums, and I’ve actually gathered quite a bit of useful information/knowledge from doing so. I’ve had multiple sound systems throughout the years, which I have learned through trial and error some valuable tricks and what not to dos haha. My most recent system is the only one I haven’t actually fully wired and setup myself, because my vehicle has a dash/head unit that can’t be removed and doesn’t have a wiring harness. I let an audio shop install a sound processor (I’ve never r…

I see a lot of amps pushing plenty of rms and the speakers are generally limited to 100rms or lower. Occaisionally, I will see one able to take 200 rms. My question would be, do those that can take higher power give a better quality sound? I am missing on why an amp would put out huge amounts of power when no speakers can hold them. Is it so you can run multi speakers on one channel?

  21. hello all for my 01 Pontiac Bonneville se, daily driver, I am in need of your suggestions for a complete system. my listening tastes are disco, HUGE house/techno listener, reggae, jazz, hip hop, and easy listening music!! 2-12 subs (no clue what to get), 4-6.5 mids for the four doors (eye-balling the jbl ms62c for sure), only 1 amp for the subs, and 1 amp for the 6.5 mids.. a good clean head unit, a sub box, wiring, etc, and interested in having a parametric eq to tweak the sound as I listen to various types of music. really not interested in setting off car alarms! but definitely want to bang pretty good as im on the hwy.. key importance is sound quality, clarity, and a…

I've been tossing around alot of idea's and equipment to the point at which I near to flipping a coin. I now have a car capable of 24-28 cubes easily. She comes to me with a 'wall' in it. I'll be tearing it out as it's pretty weak, but now the idea is there, to toss the Sundance The important things: *The Mustang will be Street driven throughout the summertime (and safety concerns accomodated for). *Also there-by semi-pretty. *12-14 volt system. *Will only run one/two amps for daily for sanity purposes. 24. First let me start off by saying that i am a huge fan of this forum. I have been snooping around for quite a while before i signed up to be a member. I am a big supporter of companies like Sundown Audio, SSA, IA, because i feel like it is a better product that is the underdog in the mainstream person's eye. I am ready for a new set-up because i down-sized to a 4 door honda civic from a larger SUV. I am looking for a single 12" subwoofer with good SPL that i can use in a daily driver application. I will be running the sub off of either a SAZ-1000d or the new SAX-1200d at either 1 ohm or 2ohms, whichever meets the subwoofer's specifications better. I am very interested in t…

My setup in my 1999 Dakota is a Alpine PDX-5, JX 1000/1, Alpine R components in front, pioneer TSDs in the back, and i used to have a 5th gen type R that blew on 1000 watts. I was planning on being pleasantly surprised when i bought an american sub from an american company SSA but its been 3 days since my card has been charged and my SA-12 still says Awaiting Fulfillment and my messages are not getting any replies :(
