  4. So I am not really "new" to forums I started out on a different forum and just got tired of all the B.S. over there and went looking for a more informative forum for my car audio needs. Said forum seemed to be more about talking shit about someones set up if they didn't have a certain brand of equipment and not enough helping each other out. Any ways not trying to rant just giving some of my forum exp. I have been watching this forum for awhile now and it seems to be a lot more informative so I am glad to be a new member thanks. I live in Spokane WA. but I was born and raised in Santa Barbara CA. If you would like to know anything else about me just ask

Finally signed up! Been lurking for awhile doing research for my next system. Currently stationed at Ft Huachuca for the army. Will be getting out early October and then returning home to PA. Still searching for the next vehicle but will have that squared away before getting home. This will be my second system. Last system was in a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Alpine 9885 head unit, Polk Momo components, a pair Rockford Fosgate p3 15's, RF T10001bd for subs, RF T5002 Fronts and a 220 amp alt. A lot of the next systems plans are still up in the air depending on which vehicle I get. Pretty much narrowed down to either an Explorer or an Expedition. I'm sure I will have…

We've been lurking for a couple of years now , and since my son has some questions , i guess we should introduce ourselves . I'm Clay 47 yrs. old and my son is Josh 23 yrs.old . We are competing in MECA AS2 this year . We have a 1997 4 door Blazer with a MOJO 15 D2 being pushed by a Sundown SAE1200D . So far the big 3 is done in 1/0 , 2 batteries and pretty much stock from there . Highest score so far has been 144.9 on music , engine off per class rules . We would like to say thanks in advance for any help we ask for and thanks for a great site as well .

I'm new here, I've already got the basics down, atleast the very basics. I get ohms, box building, wiring for load and how to wire speakers, and the easy stuff like that. I've got a couple very hopeful plans for my truck, it's an '04 Ford F-150 SCREW, but I'm flat broke right now so that'll wait. I'm here to observe and provide the sarcastic comment from time to time.

Hello. I joined this site as a favour to my husband. He is always talking to me about car audio this and that and I will be honest. I only understand about half of what he is saying. I have spent the last few months reading threads and information from his account, but when i ask questions i get more confused that before I asked. I really want to be a part of his hobby, and want to understand so maybe i can climb up the helper ladder from "go find my the square screwdriver" to "help me sauder this wires". I sort of understand ohm's, how to build a box(help with that lots), i understand how cars themselves work(i have been a car fanatic since i could walk) but amplifiers…

heyall, i'm mike from indiana, 33yrs. currently upgrading 05 honda civic system and i took some shortcuts that i know some would find repulsive. (like instead of removing door panel, i dremel cut out the grill to replace OEM door speaker)...stuff like that. though i have been on/off car audio some 18 years, still a lot of technical stuff i don't know. Found this place on google and looks like i could learn a lot here. please dont banish me for taking shortcuts. i don't have proper tools and knowlege to take apart these stupid modern japanese cars. Had to do my door like that cause i had no patience to order a tool to remove the clip on the window crank and god knows how m…

Hey ladies and gents, Just stopping in to introduce myself. Name is Damion. Current setup is stock but that is only for the moment being. Currently in the process of gathering up a new system. My vehicle is a 2005 Acura RSX. Currently have: Focal 165 kf's components Clarion DPX11551 JL Audio 300/4 In the process of picking up an FI BL, Alpine 9887, 1/0 wiring, and sound deadening. Will be doing the big 3 to start out and then looking into future upgrades for an aftermarket alternator. Unfortunately with the new Honda's/Acura's they have a dual mode charging system. The explanation of the system can be found here... http://opensiuc.lib.siu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article…

Hey guys I've been trying to learn as much as I can before I start buying anything, and this forum is pretty sick! So far, I plan to run a single 15" ported off an audioque 1200D amp. Any thoughts on what subs to get for ~$200? I was looking into the Alpine type-R due to my budget, but now i'm kinda leaning towards SSA or AA subs....

Im a 19 y.o. self proclaimed car audio addict who is always looking for something bigger and better. I currently have 2 12" Kicker CVR's in a sealed box with a Audiobahn A8000t amp. I know this is the ultimate newb set up but it hits pretty hard for me. I am looking to upgrade pretty soon to either a 12" AA Havoc or an FI BL in a ported box with a Elemental Designs Nine.1 amp or something very similar. I also currently have all stock electrical but plan on doing the big 3 and possibly a yellow top. i dont want to buy a larger alternator unless i absolutely have to. I do have just a couple of questions, Who would i contact for pricing and dealer info for AA? and Out of …

Hey people! Obviously as you can see, a from Hawaii here. Recently got back into car audio after driving around for a year with no front door speakers and stock cd player in an 04 SRT. Recently upgraded my H/U to a KIV BT-900, front door speakers now have Focal 165a1 components, stock 6x9 coaxials, and using a cheap kenwood amplifier to run a 8" REAudio sub in a slot ported enclosure. Doesn't sound too shabby since I been fooling around with the DSP and T/Z built into the H/U. Hopefully with me coming here, I can learn how to improve my front stage from the rest of you knowledgeable people
