  1. No but really, I joined this website because ive been lacking on the car audio forum side of the internet and this website kept popping up in my search results and my Anti-Virus kept saying it was a malicious website so I decided to turn off the AV and here I am, currently got questions about power upgrades to a 4,000w system I am building.

  3. Designing a build, been out of the game a long time. Looking for any/all ideas suggestions ect. Goal is overall loudness, and daily deep big bass. No one burp comps. However want to be earth shaking as possible within area. Sub box going to be behind the rear seat and top of box not higher than back of seat. I plan to pot this build and look forward to all input.

  4. I've been all over the internet with this. I anyone here has a workable solution, then this forum is better than any of the other half dozen places I've contacted. I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra that has the factory installed radio/CD player. It does not have any USB ports for playing music. What it does have is an iPod port. Not a port that you plug an iPod into directly - rather a port (inside the console) that requires a cable to be plugged into it, with the iPod itself plugged into the other end of the cable. I do not have an iPod, nor do I have any plans to hunt one down. It seems like obsolete technology that is incredibly overpriced compared to the cu…

Quick search and I didn’t find an answer to this easy question so I’ll ask here: If I go with US Acoustics Barbara Ann 100x4 @ 4 ohm amp how can I wire 2 Evil tweets and 2 Evil midbasses? I was figuring buy the tweets in 8 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 50W from two channels active and get the midbasses in 4 ohm to roughly power them w an estimated 100W from the other two channels active. Is that how it works? Is each load independent on each channel thus getting independent power from the amplifier? This seems obvious but I’m not sure.

Ok, well after 10 years, I'm back and I came straight back here. First off, I want to say I'm happy this company, community, and forum is still around. I got a ton of help 10 years ago and I learned so much. Seeing the SSA store over the past week and browsing the forum brought me back. I already learned so much but see that I need to learn so much more. As the title suggests, I'm getting back into car audio with only an untouched SI Magnum I bought based on recommendations back in 2008. However, I now have a 2016 Honda Accord and some money to spend on a simple SQ system. The car has a stock 4 speaker system, and frankly, it sucks. I'm stuck at understanding what …

  8. Hello there, community. This is the first time I’ve actually joined an audio community and posted/commented within a thread. I’ve browsed many threads on various forums, which include the SSA forums, and I’ve actually gathered quite a bit of useful information/knowledge from doing so. I’ve had multiple sound systems throughout the years, which I have learned through trial and error some valuable tricks and what not to dos haha. My most recent system is the only one I haven’t actually fully wired and setup myself, because my vehicle has a dash/head unit that can’t be removed and doesn’t have a wiring harness. I let an audio shop install a sound processor (I’ve never r…

  11. Question about the use of amps crossovers and sound processors. Is it best to go all active not at all or combine?? Are amp filters as good as sound processors? When you buy a component speaker system you are paying for a crossover too. More expensive units have better crossovers. It’s been suggested that these crossovers use up power so not using them and using HPF and LPF on your amps is the better way to go. An alternative method is using a digital active crossover that can be programmed. Different methods are also to influence phase shifts that can create cancellation or have better frequency curves. The cons would be a dedicated amp just for tweete…

  13. Hay guys i got two questions about my setup. 2011 f150 with factory charging system with extra 1000 cca marine batterie "not a audio battery". I'm running 2 sae1500d amp on 4 sa15 subs. They are the rev3's and are 2ohm coil's. I am running the amps seperat gain matched "to the best of my ability" and I'm at . 5 ohms at each amp not counting rise. I have the rear seat out and built a good sturdy enclosure that's sealed good with a port that's tuned to 35 hertz. I'm over the recommend size on the enclosure I know at 19 cubes total shared air space but i did that do to the fact that i wasn't running very big setup on the amps, i know there getting the rated rms power but i a…

  14. Hay guys I'm trying to find the detailed specs on sundown audio sae-1500d amp protection modes. Not just what will cause protection modes but more like high/low voltage protection circuit .80volt Spike To go into protection mode or something similar. The issue im having is in my f150 setup, 4 sa-15 subs walled with shared air space total of 19.97cubes tuned at 38 hertz. Drivers are 2 sae-1500d sundown amps strapped, and no not with a dam ratchet strap or rope, strapped as in power and two amps bridged to one. Ohm load on all 4 total is 1.23. with seals on and no wind or movements. Power and grounds are way bigger than spec, I'm running 3/0 aka 000 cables that can handle 4…

Was just referred to SAS by some friends on reddit. Here to learn and seek advice for my ride. Just reading some of the threads and it's apparent there is some serious knowledge here. I'm not sure if I should post my questions in this introduction thread or not, so forgive me if I'm wrong. I'm putting together my second install and this time it's going to be a little better. The first one was Rockford Fosgate using stock head unit. It was for my son's car and it's not too bad. Better than what he had at least lol. This time I want to put together something for my vehicle. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. It's a base model. I want to try to …

Just got 2 team 18's(dual 2's) and plan on putting either 2 bc5500's or one 'merica 12k on them for power. I want to do a flat wall but need a little help on what size box to use, i.e. cubic feet per sub, sq in per cube for port, aero or slot, and tuning frequency. Thanks in advance for the help! Oh and space is no issue as it's going in an Astro.

  25. Hello- I'm repairing an old Cadence A6000+ (zed audio amp) that has a few zed audio labeled components on it. The output transistors are toast on one channel, but i'm afraid the fet driver is also hosed- which appears to be a zed audio part. The are labled 'MOSAMP3 Zed Audio 9645' and 'MOSAMP4 Zed Audio 9645' See pics attatched. I came here searching to find Steve Mantz' contact info to ask him, but haven't had luck with searchingj for contact info or for a user-- must be using wrong terms. Any help appreciated.
