Hi, I'm from Austin, Texas and I consider myself a car audio enthusiast. I fell in love with it the first time i heard a system which was when i was like 12. I like using these forums to find out useful information, and also see other people's experiences/builds/oppinions etc. I hope i can find good info here, and try to positively contribute.

Hey guys. You have a great forum here. I've been doing some reading recently on trying to figure out a sub for myself and there is a lot of in depth info. I'm not new to car audio I've been a hobbyist in it since 1992. Always looking for more power or speakers..lol. as I matured I finally learned the right way to do things and became very picky about my equipment purchases. I'm not so much into big boom anymore but still enjoy being able to raise the volume and turn some heads. I'm driving a 1999 Mercury Cougar that I'm currently trying to design a new setup in the hatch for. This is what I'm currently running: HU: Eclipse AVN6620 Front: Polk Momo MM6 components Rear:Kic…

Found this place out of the blue, actually. I have been sitting on a BoltarVII for about 12 years - waiting for the right person to have repair it(long story) I came across the Zed repair site which had a link here. I didn't get a response to my inquiry so I'm hoping I can find someone here to take it on. I was in my late teens early twenties when the car audio explosion hit here. I had a friend that was just starting a shop and carried the whole unknown HiFonics line and was totally blown away. Now I'm 42 and looking to get back into it. Hello to all!!!

Hello All, I was an installer at a local shop back when I was in high school. We sold mostly JL audio, Audiobahn, JVC, Power Acoustic and a few others I forgot. I am glad I found the site it seems they have more of an informative group here compared to some of the other forums related to this subject. I want to get back in to car audio because I have always enjoyed it and also I just purchased two new vehicles. My first project is my truck. I have a 08 GMC Crew Cab Sierra 1500. I'm looking to spend about 3000 but could possible spend more depending on how big each hit will be! I listen to all types of music but mostly rock, some rap and occasionally country. I like powerf…

Hi all, greetings from La Selva Beach CA! I have been into high end audio since my teens which was quite some time ago lol. I just purchased a Lexus GS 300 with the most God awful audio system imaginable so I am putting together a new system. I have chosen an Alpine CDE-175BT head unit, an old school A/D/S PQ 10 four channel amp, a pair of NOS A/D/S 300is panel speakers for the rear deck and a pair of 6.5 in JBL GTO 629 speakers for the front doors. I have not had anything installed yet and I am in the processs of locating a competent installer to do the work as the rear deck speakers will be a custom install due to there being no prior speakers ever installed there. Al…

Just wanted to check in and say hello to everybody here. Anyways.... I'm not exactly a car audiophile but I do enjoy bass. Currently running 2 sa-12s powered by 1 sax-1200d. Not much car audio going on here in Taiwan, so that means not too much help. Was hoping to learn a few things while I was here. Thx for reading!

Hello all, i'm not necessarily new here but just got around to posting an introduction. I frequent a few other car audio forums and can say i have became an addict. My ride is nothing special, i own a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero GX (base edition). She has 110,000 miles on her and still running like a champ. Audio-wise, i am running: Head Unit - Kenwood KDC-MP538u Amplifier - Hifonics BXi1610d Subwoofers - Two old' school 15" Petra Prowlers sealed. One run of 1/0 to the rear with The Big Three done up in 1/0. I am looking forward to actually contributing to this site, and now need to get my post count up to be eligable to start my own threads, i have some questions... lol Here …

Just a brief intro. I'm Josh, 26, from the Houston/Galveston area of TX. I like long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners. Wrong forum? Anyway. I kept coming across this forum while doing research trying to put together a setup for my truck. (turning out to be quite a trick due to space limitations under the back seat) From the short passages I read, it sounds like there are some on here that really know their stuff. I've been reading up a lot on the vendors here on the site and am pretty impressed with all of their products. So, here I am. I registered last night and look forward to learning more and getting to know some of ya'll. Maybe I can be of some help further…

Ok, New to the site do hello everyone. I am currently deployed and have a question. I have a standard cab Chevy Colorado, during my first deployment i had a kicker ZX700.5 installed and it ran my to kicker L5 10'' and my Alpine Type X components. Not sure how loud it was but i enjoyed them to the fullest for the past 4 years. Well i am deployed yet again and got bored, so i decided a up grade was needed. Here is my questions...how well of a up grade did i do? I now have 2 Kicker L7 10" in the same box, and a ZX1500.1. That was easy simply becouse the box had the old amp counter sunk in it..the 1500.1 was the same size. And i swaped the Type X components to the kic…

Hey everyone just thought i would drop in and give a hello. I am new to the forums but not new to the game. I come from Minnesota so it's hard to find anyone who knows what FI really is. Just last year I bought a 15" Q and threw it in a 3.7 cft3, 32 hz tuned ported box and powered by a Crossfire 1000D @ 1 ohm. Really amazed at the SQ and how it can rape the lows. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and i am also looking for some nice 5.25 components.
