I'm currently running and icon 12 off 1200 watts in 2.4 cubes at 29hz. I'm wanting to upgrade to a x or zcon 15 off this amp.. http://www.woofersetc.com/st-1650xm-ii-zapco-monoblock-1650w-rms-class-d-amplifier.html i can squeeze 4cubes of enclosure. im think 34-37 hz. Will there be any benefit to getting the z over the x other than feeling cooler with the chunkier sub

Hello from louisiana. I have been lurking here for a few weeks after being introduced to the forum by a friend. I doubt he is a member, he lurks alot. The main reason I am here is because of Sundowns SA-8, it seems to be an extremely impressive woofer and 8s have been my preference for woofers as long as I can remember. Hey all, 1st virgin cherry-popping post here. Some folks on the CarAudio Forum highly recommended SSA for the outstanding lineup of amps etc. and even better price tags. I'm under the impression that these names here are young, hungry and trying to make a name for themselves while offering great values. So, I've only had 2 amps, both Kickers. One was about 2001, Impulse 405 which sounded great to start but destroyed my Excelon comps. I just ordered 2 12" D1 XCons to go in the trunk of my Pontiac G6. It feels like Christmas is coming 2 months early!! Yeehaaa!! HI all I just recently ran across this fourm and after doing some browsing decided to join. I have been into car audio for a long time. I recently got a 2012 Chevy Cruze and have a Sound Qubbed HDS 312 on order with a Q1 1200.2 amp. Im sure I will learn alot here as well as provide my knowledge on topics that I have experience with. Glad to be a part of the forum.

My car is a 2010 Mustang convertible and has little room for anything.Would there be any issues with putting the crossovers next to the amp? They are big, 6"x41/2" x2". I know it would entail running more wire but I have a large roll. I have a thing for the Zed Leviathan and I think they would look good next to it.

Any thoughts on what subs to get for ~$200? I was looking into the Alpine type-R due to my budget, but now i'm kinda leaning towards SSA or AA subs....

Hey guys, need some help.live been competing for years so I have some knowledge, but I'm not up to date on the power I need to supply the amp I'm wanting to go with. I have a 220 amp alt. And hc 2400 kinetik. I'm.going to b running two fi bl 12's dual 2 on a sundown 3500d. Daily will b run at 1 ohm and compete at .5 ohm. Do I have enough power to push the amp to full potential? All help and suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Looking to run a Sound Quality system just wondering when it comes to SQ is sealed better thing ported I here if you run sealed you need more power to push the subs.

I am curious to know how many watts would be concidered enough in a "daily driver"? I know that the threshold of pain (in the ear) is around 120db's. What kind of watts are needed to acheive that. I have been around the car audio realm for the better part of 15 years but it has always been a "bigger is louder is better" way of thinking. I never really looked into the science of sound and why it all works. I am learning a great deal from this site. My very first system was an 18 inch cerwin vega powered by a 400 watt california profile amp and a kenwood tape deck.
