Hello everybody, I'm Jarrett from Lafayette La, just thought I would introduce myself. My first car was a 1999 mitsubishi mirage. I put 2 Orion HCCA 10.4s in a custom ported box with an Orion D5000. The D5000 stopped working so I bought 2 cheap Sound Storm amps to replace it. When I started college I sold this setup for $900 Now I drive a 1988 Toyota pickup. I Had an Fi Q 18 in a sealed 5 cu ft box with a US amps MD1D. I traded this setup for these wheels and a spare tire. I enjoy wheeling this truck through the mud as much as I enjoy my bass. just wondering what you guys would have done differently to your in car audio system givin the chance to go back and do it all over again. i usualy learn on my own mistakes but id rather save me a lot of time and money on my system. all comments appreciated!

I have been working with my new Icon 12 D2 sub for a little while trying to get the sound like I want. I started with building the recommended enclosure from SSA the optimal one. I built this before I had the sub so I threw in my trusty old infinity perfect and too my suprise it sounded great even though the size of enclosure is outside of what infinity recommended way back then. i expected it to be too low and limit the frequency response but just the opposite happened. This new box extended both the low and upper range of this sub. The upper range, above 50hz has been lacking in my little honda accord. with that in mind I had high expectations for the new sub. I …

Ok so i have an acura rsx and i'm looking to have a ported box that's about 1.2 cubic feet or less to go in the trunk with the sub facing up and the port firing at the hatch/trunk. From what i hear, the SA-12 can be put in a smaller box than the Q; however, would it get as low? or have the same Sound Quality (although i know sq isn't really what subs, especially poerted ones, are for) The Sa-12 is cheaper (about $45-55 less) than the Q, and this money could go towards sound deadening or other things also. Help me choose Please! haha If more information needs to be given lemme know

Looking to run a Sound Quality system just wondering when it comes to SQ is sealed better thing ported I here if you run sealed you need more power to push the subs.

Hey guys. Now that i have my new sub and amp on the way (SKAR Audio 12" subwoofer and Sundown Audio SAX-1200D), i wanted to post a thread that might ask for clarification on the theory of what everyone refers to as " 10% is the Equipment and 90% is the Installation". What exactly does this mean? I mean, obviously, i would imagine that the box within which you place your subwoofer will make a huge difference. The grade of wiring you use will make a difference. All of the level adjustments made on the amplifier will make a big difference. I just want to ensure that i get the best sound out of my new purchase, and if 90% of what is to be expected is in the installation i wan…

I've been all over the internet with this. I anyone here has a workable solution, then this forum is better than any of the other half dozen places I've contacted. I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra that has the factory installed radio/CD player. It does not have any USB ports for playing music. What it does have is an iPod port. Not a port that you plug an iPod into directly - rather a port (inside the console) that requires a cable to be plugged into it, with the iPod itself plugged into the other end of the cable. Ya so, I had set up a SSA forum account, made a great build, enjoyed it for a couple months...and then went to prison...I knew I was going but that didn't make things any easier. Anyways 18 months later I'm out now and in the halfway house just months away from being able to re-build my system into my '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee! Man am I excited!
