Ok so i have an acura rsx and i'm looking to have a ported box that's about 1.2 cubic feet or less to go in the trunk with the sub facing up and the port firing at the hatch/trunk. From what i hear, the SA-12 can be put in a smaller box than the Q; however, would it get as low? or have the same Sound Quality (although i know sq isn't really what subs, especially poerted ones, are for) The Sa-12 is cheaper (about $45-55 less) than the Q, and this money could go towards sound deadening or other things also. Help me choose Please! haha If more information needs to be given lemme know

I have been working with my new Icon 12 D2 sub for a little while trying to get the sound like I want. I started with building the recommended enclosure from SSA the optimal one. I built this before I had the sub so I threw in my trusty old infinity perfect and too my suprise it sounded great even though the size of enclosure is outside of what infinity recommended way back then. i expected it to be too low and limit the frequency response but just the opposite happened. This new box extended both the low and upper range of this sub. The upper range, above 50hz has been lacking in my little honda accord. with that in mind I had high expectations for the new sub. I …

Ya so, I had set up a SSA forum account, made a great build, enjoyed it for a couple months...and then went to prison...I knew I was going but that didn't make things any easier. Anyways 18 months later I'm out now and in the halfway house just months away from being able to re-build my system into my '99 Jeep Grand Cherokee! Man am I excited! So here I am checkin' in at my favorite forum to say "I'M BACK!! WOOOOT!!"

What's going on all. I have been lurking on the site for the past 6 months, reading, learning and such. Have always had car audio in my rides since 1997. In 1997, I purchase my first vehicle 1997 Blazer ZR-2. Well I needed subs and put two Eclipse SW6000s 10 inch in there. I then had a 1988 Toyota Cressida that was rocking two 10 inch Eclipse SW 88100, ran by an MTX 81000D amp. Then a 2000 Escalade that I moved the two 10 Eclipse to and added a 10 inch Eclipse SW9100, all powered by Hifonic Brutus amps. Then there is a 1998 Suburban with two 12 inch MTX 7500, powered by a Hifonics amp....THEN I stumbled across this board and learned about building a ground pounding…

Hey guys, im new to the whole car audio scene and this is the first car audio forum i have been a member at. Thanks to my boy ronrico for lettin me kno about the forum and all these great companies (FI, AA, Sundown...ect.), and teaching me everything i know(I still have a ways to go). I will soon be running a 15" Havoc on a Sundown 1500d, and I also will be using a SAX 100.2 for my Mids/Highs Setup. (Thanks to Jacob for his great customer service) I'll get some pics up as soon as the build gets underway. This forum is awesome I've learned so much without ever posting a topic. So thanks to everyone and i hope to see some of you guys out at SBN this Saturday. ~Jpang~

Heard alot of different opinions on RE's box calculator heard it was off and not accurate but than heard that no matter what you do the tune will never be ACCURATE, which to believe i really have no clue. I am currently in the process of building a new box for my single 12" Cadence ZRS and looking for a new amp that does 900-1300rms at 2ohm, class D monoblock, kinda stiff and cheap on the price of 220 or less depends what it is and i might be able to do more. But back to the box , i have one planned out with RE's box calculator its 2.5cf prob will be less after displacement since im not sure how much to account for, for 45 degree angles and so forth, but id like a nice b…

I would like to introduce myself, I'm Nick from Houston. First, thanks for making an incredible place for someone like myself to learn and discuss audio. I found sundown and that's what led me here. I'm a DIY person but don't have quite as much knowledge as I should and would like to educate myself with the goal of reducing my mistakes. Car audio has changed quite a bit. My last system was 2 used 12's and amp installed in a 91 eagle talon back in high school. Oh, I also had tweeter stuck to the pillars completing my "system". So, Id like to eventually build a complete system that is loud as hell, but done the right way. So far I have 1 sundown x-10 in a 1.3cuft ported…
