HI guys, I have tried searching for this problem but can't find the answer so here I am. I had recently installed an amp (boss audio chaos rev455) to power my front door speakers and tweeters (power acoustik nb-4). I put the amp in the trunk, because it wouldnt fit under the front seats and ran the rca's and the speaker wire along the passenger side of the car and power wire and remote down the drivers side. When i start the car i get this quiet very fast intermitten noise out of the tweeters. The sound does not increase with rpms, or volume, it stays constant and cannot be heard in the door speakers. Also the speakers that are connected to this amp pop when i shut the ca…

Hey guys. I'm Dane. Was told by swagger_wagon468 to join here. Met him a couple weeks ago and we got to talking about my rig. I'm pretty new into the SPL world, and audio in general, so I'm not the smartest on the subject, but everyone has to start somewhere right? My first system was a cool concept. The box was built inside of the back seat. Sealed, had like .75 cubic ft of space. Was a Pioneer shallow mount 10". Blew that in a week. Went to a Memphis shallow mount 12", blew 7 of those and Memphis told me they wouldn't warranty them anymore. Then I went to a JL Audio 13tw5. Was a great speaker, I just wanted more, and the Kicker ZX750.1 was pushing the limits of that sub…

Sup everyone, I'm a SPL lover from Hawaii. Though I don't have lots of knowledge about car audio, I've got a pretty decent stereo in my room, equipped with the Dayton 15" 1000W sub, with an old 2 ch. Harman Kardon amp. The amp is pretty old, and it doesn't even have provisions for a sub. A car audio Speaker-> Line Level convertor was thrown in there somewhere. I'll be posting more about my home system in the Home Audio sticky in a bit. Other then that, I don't have a car system yet... I don't quite have a car suitable for one, as my current ride has no metal that you could bolt anything to. Don't think that means that my ride is crap though. Its whats on the insi…

Just threw two x18 v.2s in my Yukon in a 15 cu ft box on an SCV4000. Very impressive, but I developed coil rub after just a month. It's really strange because there is no felt rub when you press down on the cone.. Actually, it only rubs when the coil is cold. After I pump one second of true RMS to it, there is magically no rub.. The other sub is fine. I monitor the clipping light religiously and the only time I see a red flash is on the attack peak of bass notes. From what I have researched, a slightly flashing clipping light is pretty normal and a fast flashing light is slightly overpowered. Solid red is clipping. \ As far as I can tell the sub is fine when p…

I'm not really new here, but I don't really hang out and post here alot but will start. I'm on Meade's site quite abit, except for Thansgiving through January for skiing. I'm a bit obsessed with car audio. Enjoy doing systems for friends and helping anyone I can. My friends tell me to get a job in car audio but I'm a little too old to start at the bottom. Here's my new truck The box out of my old car thrown in for some bass Front doors with some CDT 6 1/2" classics And the pheonix gold saphire amp running them I've only had the truck 6 weeks and have alot more to do. Upgrade the front stage, move the current fronts to rear way more power and some bigger subs. Here…
