My wife drives a 2003 Honda Accord V6 sedan. She has a 300 watts RMS at 2 ohm on the 5 channel amp and wants a sub. I was on DIYMA and someone suggested I look into the 12" SSA DCON. I read the specs and did some searching. The price fit our budget but my question is...how will this sound with 300 watts at 2 ohm in a sealed for example 1.0 to 1.20 cubic ft sealed box? I read that people prefer the ported box but I am looking for something sealed but I am open for suggestions. I found this site while researching the effects of impedance rise. I am working on building a system and trying to learn at the same time. I am buying a HDC3 15, my box is 4.5 cubes tuned to 38 hertz, kerfed port with 74.25 inches of port. I have a Hifonics 2010D amp 1/0 gage wire (double runs). Still have a ways to go, but like i said trying to learn.

Whats up guys, I am a member on my.is and someone recommended a SoundSplinter sub, went to their website, and found my way over here.. Great forum you have here.. Just can't decide if I want 1 10", 2 10", or 1 12" lol.. Just want clean bass since I listen to all sorts of music (rock/rap/sometimes even country) but I don't want king kong in my trunk.. 1 10" RL-i sufficient for my needs you think? With a sundown sax100.2 or a sae1000d if I go with 2 tens or a 12? Thanks in advance, Gary

actually the suburbs of Detroit, but anyway. I found this site and have picked up a lot of good info. I used to be pretty big into the mobile audio seen some years ago. I worked for an audio engineering and consulting firm starting my senior year in HS and learned a lot about audio, way more than most people even want to know about. I've chose to forget a lot of it myself lol Anyway, I've always been into audio systems but as I've grown up some I just haven't had the time to stay devoted. But along comes a new vehicle, and it is time for me to start things off again. This is a great site, and so far everyone has been very great and welcoming, glad to be here. John

Hey guys I'm new here and found this site via many recommendations of SSA subs. I currently have a single eD 11Ov.2 being powered by an Alpine MRP-M500 in a 1965 Mustang. I learn more and more everyday that a 44 year old car is just not mean to handle a system (even a small one) and that is why I feel like I am constantly upgrading stuff lol
