Name: O'Neal Jones III Vehicle I have: 2003 Ford Taurus SE System: 4 Cadence CVL compnent 6x9's and 8 CVL Tweets. for the highs and mids with a Cadence Armadeus 6004 powering them. My Bass consists of: 2 RE SX12D2's, custom ported enclosure at 2.5 cubes. Still deciding on amps but I think i'm gonna go with two Lunar 1525's and stick a Kintek 2400 in the trunk. My HU is a JVC-KDAVX2 I started messing with car audio when I turned about 19. The guys here just were beating the block but nothing aggrivates me more than raggedy cars with just boom. When i first started i spent like 600 dollars and the system sounded whack as hell. I guess you get what you pay for. After my firs…

Hey all - I have been a member of this forum for quite a while now but this is my first actual post. I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to car audio as I've only done a few simple things such as head unit, amp, and sub installs in the most basic ways. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a JVC KD-LH300 for the head unit. For sub and amp, I have a Massive Audio CW12 and a Massive Audio P1000.1 respectively. The sub is housed in a JL Audio stealth box (came with the truck when I bought it). I just deadened some key areas with RAAMmat which I will be posting pictures of that build shortly. I have been on this site mostly for inspiration in what I want to eventually achieve in …

I have been into car audio since I was 15, so almost 9 years now. But for the past 4yrs I have been married and no longer allowed anything to do with a stereo. Now due to other wonderful events in life (sarcasm) I am going thru a divorce. Time to catch up with the audio world and this time I can afford to go big. Spent most of my time on SIN/carstereos.org imsolost7886 over there also. Know quite a few of the guys on here from there, but again its been awhile so it'll be nice catching up with you guys also. Hopefully soon enough, I'll be back to answering questions instead of asking a bunch. Spent a good 10hrs between yesterday and this morning doing a lot of reading. Sti…

Hi there, I am 17 and do know some about car audio, as I do mod cars. I currently owna 2000 cavalier. I have had 2 systems, and just not yet satisfied with either of them. I am looking for a subwoofer than can handle my Lanzar Vibe 1000 Watt Max amp. I was looking at a FI BL, but i am afraid of clipping. What about a JLW6, they are 400 RMS, right? so i risk blowing it with too much power. What do you recommend me for awesome bass, that i will be satisfied with, without breaking the bank. Thanks!

Hey everyone just registered here this evening. I'm also over on DIYMA (am I allowed to say that here? ) but have heard good things about this site too. I feel I'm quite knowledgeable in the car audio and 12v field. I'm just here to share what I know and to expand my knowledge. Oh and hopefully meet some new faces along the way. I've got a '99 S10 Zr2 with the following: Alpine CDA-9887 JL 300/2 powering midbass Peerless SLS (soon to be replaced) Custom built kick panels made by yours truley Alpine 2.150 powering midrange 4" Alpine Type X comps in the dash 1 12" Alpine Type X in a 1.6 ft^3 ported box tuned to 33ish hz US Amps Merlin MD3D giving the Type X 1200w @ 2oh…

Saw your forum after passing by many on the web. I did post my other info in the "How I found SSA thread"> I'll be lookig to learn more about car audio in general and also looking for feedback on products I'm considering that some of you may have experience with. I currently have a '01 Yukon Denali that I added 2 JL Audio 12w3v2 D4 being pushed by an MA Audio HK898. I know it's not phenomenal, but my car was stolen once and I hate people getting my stuff for free. What I'm doing now(and want to do it right..) Is a 72 Cutlass. I'm strting with components and may add a sub later. If I do subs I was wondering what size? I know the base response would be different than wha…

Hows it goin everyone? My name is William, but everyone calls me will, and I'm 21 years old. I just signed up for this site today while I was doing some research on some sundown amps and I saw a forum link on their site. I've been interested in car audio since I was a teenager but haven't really gotten into it until about a year and half ago. I just want to say that I really like the layout and function of this site already and I think I will learn alot from the sire and everyone on here.

I am back as I had originally bought a Sundown 100.4 on the very first run for my RSX which I had hooked up to DLS components. I really thought I had made an account here back then. Well I then, sold the RSX. I then put an Audison amp, focal components and focal subs in my next car, a 1995 Porsche 993. That car was stolen over the summer. So now I am back to looking at putting some left over parts that I hadn't sold into my current S2000. Now to look through some builds to see the cool stuff people are currently building.

Hello fellow enthusiasts! My name is Jason and I originally signed up to post a reply to a thread that I found on here regarding pxa-h701 compatibility with the alpine iva-w205. But I've found that this forum is really cool, and maybe I will post more often. I am a member over at g35driver.com and I do a lot of research on forums, don't post much but search and read a lot. : D My setup is in a 2006 G35 coupe. My old setup was: Eclipse AVN5500 w/ ipc-106 ipod control and swi-ecl steering wheel interface, DLS UP6 component set in stock locations, DLS RA10 and DLS RA20 amplifiers, two image dynamic IDQ10v2d2. I then changed up to two T1 rockford fosgate power. The am…

hey whats up fellas, new to the site, and a little frustrated and impatient lol, for a minute i was so positive with the sub i was going to go with for whatever reason it was, but basically it was suppose to be a single aq hdc3 12" and now i dont know if thats the sub i should go with, after searching on various forums and this one, i hear that the aq hdc3's might not be what im looking for, but anyways here is what my status is: 2000 cadillac deville using a sundown audio 1500d amp, $400 budget for sub(s), a blow-through pete kulicki designed box, used as a daily driver, and for the box 3.0 to 4.0 cu ft is what i have to work with due to the fact that i have a daught…

My wife drives a 2003 Honda Accord V6 sedan. She has a 300 watts RMS at 2 ohm on the 5 channel amp and wants a sub. I was on DIYMA and someone suggested I look into the 12" SSA DCON. I read the specs and did some searching. The price fit our budget but my question is...how will this sound with 300 watts at 2 ohm in a sealed for example 1.0 to 1.20 cubic ft sealed box? I read that people prefer the ported box but I am looking for something sealed but I am open for suggestions. I was looking into one of these: Single 12" Sealed MDF Enclosure (12SQTC) 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Enclosures Car Subwoofer Installation &am…
