DC Power Engineering

Well first I should say i have a 2002 jeep liberty (KJL v6 3.7 liter I was reading an article on its eletrical system and found this charging system of our KJ's is much different to ones in the past. I have been told that in an efforet to protect the PCM and other computer components in the KJ, the charging system draws from the battery FIRST and then calls on the Atl/Gen to re-plenish the battery as needed. That is why the new generation of Deep Cycle batteries work so well. They have the reserve power to allow the extra toys without needing to add the huge alt/gen of the past. As you use your lights, stereo, winches, what ever, they will be drawing from a battery that…

Godday Rob and Kyle, I'm needing an alternator for my 2008 Hyundai Elantra, 2.0L DOHC engine. I'm going for high idle output, but not something that will be a strain on the engine because it is a smaller vehicle, HP series probably.

I was just wondering recently, why aren't DC Power altrrnators sold in our community store? The relationship between the 2 companies seems pretty strong. Also, I'm not cheap by any means, but with all the hype and support provided by SSA, why aren't there any sort of special deals for us? Like obviously I know that could be abused a bit. But what if this magical appearance of a discount came in the form of a admin/moderator requested code generated by DC Power themselves? I just don't see the reason for the marriage of one company over another with no incentive from either. I do see the quality in the product presented but just wondering as I lay here somewhat tipsy. Fe…

vehicle: 1997 jeep wrangler 4.0L straight six So alt has been installed and working wonderfully, now I'm adding the resistor to the stock wiring to get rid of the check engine light. Here's the stock wiring "In your picture, "A" is the original B+, C is ground, and B1 & B2 is the field connections for the stock alternator" Now I've put the resistor between the field connections as shown below: and my check engine light still comes on, Is this because the stock +12v/B+ and ground aren't connected? Did I install the resistor incorrectly? I also checked the resistor with a dmm and it's not faulty. Any ideas? Thank you - Stefan

Hello, bought a 270xp from you guys on 9/21/10, sales number was 12967. Due to me vehicle (1997 jeep wrangler straight six 4.0l engine) it needed a bypass harness, but you guys shipped it without a resistor for the stock wiring since they were out of stock. I sent Kyle a PM on October 29th and haven't heard any news about the resistor... I'd like to get this in sometime before I forget about it and have to call you a year later asking about it. Thanks, Stefan Hinote

Okay so I ordered and installed the dual alternator kit on my 2008 tahoe. The install only took about 2 hours which wasn't bad. ***THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH THE KIT ANYWHERE*** I did call the number and got some limited assistance. The person I talked to, Stan helped the best he could but gave me no 100% sure answers... so I'm left with some questions. Please keep in mind this is a 2008 tahoe with 2 prong OEM alt connectors First let me tell you how I installed it; (1) I ran the red wire with a ring terminal on the harness provided from DC to the positive output on the alt (2) I ran the white wire with a ring terminal on the harness provided from DC to a gr…

Hello I have a 3.4l v6 Chevrolet Impala and I'm wondering if you carry and alternator for my car. I am going to be running a sundown saz-2500d and most likely 200 more watts for speakers. I would say roughly adding 2700 watts extra to my car. Now, if it happens that you do make an alternator for my car I'm wondering if you have a bracket so i can run it with my stock alternator. Let me know, thanks. -Jay

We decided to play with one of our 390XP's on the Dyno. We only have 320 amps of loadbank on this dyno, but in layman's terms this is an almost 400 amp alternator that will do 213 at what our competitors call idle? I just call it ridiculous amounts of power DC Power style.. Everybody else, dream on... And to think, somebody turned 4 of these down....

The stock is a 4pin while the new one is only a 2pin? Here are some pictures of what i'm talking about: Stock Harness (female adapter) DC power male adapter Do i need a new adapter? or is there something I need to do with this one? I am kinda short for time, trying to have the install done by this weekend/ monday at the latest... Thanks for the help

Right now i've got a phoenix gold 500.1d pushing an 18 fi q. Of course we're getting a new amp. We've got our minds set on an audioque 1500. But before that, we need a new alternator so thats where you guys come in. I got my alternator tested and i'm pulling 65-67 amps with bass up, hid highbeams on, ac full blast, and all at 1500rpm. So i just wanted to know which alternator we will be needing to get, and of course i'll do the big 3 after getting one of yall's alts.

  24. That's in alternator RPMs... our competition rates their alternators at 2400-2500 alternator RPMs at idle. So our 250XPs still do quite a bit at idle More to come very soon as i continue to program the machine.

  25. We've only been waiting for it since January, and this is just our "loaner" machine until the one we ordered is done.. This one is 15hp, has a 350 amp load bank, and will do dyno sheets with everything we ship after we get it all set up.. The machine we are having built has a 20hp motor and a 580 amp load bank for some of the bigger alternators we build, but this one will do for now.. Not that there's anything wrong with a $50k "loaner"..
