"Just reinstall the stock one and use your mechman you have now as the second alt. Call them up and see if they'll R&R it and install a self-exciting regulator. So we installed my 350 SMD with external regulator on my Sierra. When not using the factory harness, I have a message on my instrument cluster saying "battery not charging". Ok understandable, the CPU is not seeing the signal, so we called and emailed Matt. He told us about the jumper to run (the L terminal I believe) but that didn't clear the message. ON TOP of this, the build was done, so I went to drive it home from my buddys shop and had a low brake pedal. Well I bought this last tax season and after some growing pains with my car everything is still going good. I'm pushing a Crescendo 3500d and a Crescendo 1000c4 with a xspower S3400 under hood and a D1200 in the trunk. voltage at the front battery after a 20min drive on the highway is 14.6 driving and maybe 14.2 at idle. I set it like that maybe I can move it up a tad but I'm comfortable like this I really don't want to mess anything up. I'm saving pennies to change out the D1200 with a group 31 battery. I can't say enough positive things about this alternator besides it was a wise decision to go with Mechman. I was going to put this up months ago but never got around to it. Factory is on the left Mechman on the right New unit installed, fit perfect no modification needed. Months later everything still working perfect.

I saw that mechman offers a alternator for the rsx type-s, my question is will that alternator fit on the base type rsx? I don't see why it wouldn't because they have basically the same exact engine in them. Thanks.

im having problems with the alternator i bought from you guys......its a 220a alt for a 91 civic..... ok well when i first installed the alt, it had a whining noise to it... sounded like a s/c spoolin up after about 3k rpms... and the whining got louder...so loud it was louder than my turbo (no it wasnt the belt squealing lol).... well the alt finally died and stopped charging.....so i sent it back to you guys to repair.... well when i got it back and installed it... it was still making the same whining noise....but atleast charging..... well after about a month now it died again....doesnt charge at all......i was wondering if i could send this back to you again and have …
