But at least the generic response could be that they were supposed to read it.

Scott did an awesome job, so now how should be implement it? Please don't say forced page load. That would take some exotic mod's or heavy code work on Mark's part. And I am not sure how it would effect all the other add-on's we have on the website. I do like the short version idea too. If need be, I can set the restrictions to only allowing the first one or so posts/topics limited to the n00d section. That could cause one of two things; they come see that we are set up that way, get pissy, never post and leave or make a hello topic and see that SSA has more to offer then come here and make one topic about what options to get on their BTL or when will the RL-i 8 be …

Can we put a disclaimer in there that says "Please don't use the terms SQ or SPL unless you are intending to use those products for competition. And SQL is non-existent." Or something to that effect. I'm thinking two birds, one stone. Very well done, Scott.

I would like to just see a LSQ sticky, explaining that if you want something that's loud but sounds slightly better than a rice burner at 6k rpms ten just say that. if you're more concerned with SQ but want to be able to show off the sub every now and again, say that. of course that's just a rant, but i think you all get what i'm saying

Call me a pessimist, but that's way too much reading for some of these people that can barely read/string sentences together. I mean hell, make a post that's longer than three sentences and you're liable to get a "Cliff's Notes?" response from some of these people But I agree totally with everything in there, and it does need to be posted somewhere. Thanks.

I like the list, but agree with Jim. Perhaps we can summarize in post 1 and then add a detailed "how to get an even better response" in a second post right underneath it.

I like this newb guide, good job Scott. Is it possible to direct the new members to the post after registering ? Or even suggesting them to read ? Not all would read it, but it would get a bit more attention IMO.

Scott, this is above and beyond the call of duty. Hell of a great write up. As for the length, we could break of the topic by placing the areas of focus in their respective sections maybe.

One other thing to add. Substage does not exist. You may have subs, but not a sub stage. By definition something that should disappear isn't its own stage.

  22. Smurf please. Just because ignorant people dont like my responses doesn't mean they're wrong. You would like some math then, huh? Well here ya go: 1 / 2*pi*sqrt(Mms*Cms) , with Mms in kg and Cms in m/N

  23. I decided to insult you because I was trying to explain that you shouldn't fear driver parameters and call my explanation "mumbo jumbo" as though I'm TRYING to just confuse others with my fancy-pants words.

  24. He was referring to me, and I assume ca.com is Caraudio.com? Which I have never been a member of, so I couldn't stay there. And I will say I'm sorry if people take some of my posts too brashly, but I have a short fuse for people who ignore the fundamentals of loudspeakers. There is nothing mysterious about them, only the voodoo individuals attach to them. I tried to answer the question without using blind faith ("yeah the specs are just right") and assumed too much. My bad.

  25. You need to calm down immediately man. I wasn't trying to start anything with you. Don't like a child over this. I was simply saying that some people just want the end result and won't care or understand alot of the technical stuff. Don't get all bent out of shape about it man. Keep your rude, unnesessary comments to yourself. Not everyone knows as much as you do about subwoofers. Chill. Added mounting depths.
