Alright...decided to go with the 12" BTL N2, fully loaded daily. Can't wait to get it! Went with the 12 strictly for space purposes, 4-5 cubes isn't realistic with my current setup, and I still would like to use my trunk on occasion. Gonna build a 2.5 cu. ft. 32hz box and see how it does with 1200w for awhile. Anyone have specs for an enclosure this size?

IF they are overrated they arent THAT overrated. I hear if you have the newer amps with the "80" fuses they put out pretty close...i have my Hifonics 1606D powering my Fi Q 15 to the MAXX. And i have my gain set to 3/4 to avoid clipping, but its still putting out AT LEast 1000 watts instead of 1200 at 3/4 gain

Sean, I noticed your comments on the BMW thread. I have the same problem with my vehicle. The rear seats dont fold down nor a ski hole. I was questioning whether or not to cut out the ski hole, still havnt made a decision.

I swapped out JUST the amp today, couldn't resist the temptation of trying it out. All I can say is why have I not made this purchase earlier. Sundown Kicks ass. And of all things its made about an hour away from my house. I might have to make a trip to see them in person and shake their hand. If anyone has any thoughts of getting one all I can say is DO IT. The Hifonics I had in here before just does NOT compare. Sorry guys the rest of the build will have to be put off for 2 weeks, gotta wait for another pay check to fund the rest of the supplies needed. But More will come.

  14. Changed my mind, I want to do a middle T-shaped port now. Here are the new specs and diagrams. 3.65cf net per driver, which is within Fi's range of 3-5. Port area is 16.41 in^2 per cf, above the 12-16 recommended by Fi because there are TWO drivers sharing the same port. Modeling with WinISD puts port velocity within the range of the 23-30 m/s I'm seeing with Fi's recommended enclosures, so I think port area OK. Also, I'm going to be using a Sundown SAZ-3500D, so I'll be running with 3500 watts at least, not 3200 as in the thread title. Opinions please before I potentially waste a LOT of money on materials? I cannot change the outer dimensions, that is the max I can possi…

For a box that will yield a .47 cu ft overall I got these dimensions: 12.5" W x 11.5" H x 9" D (outside measurements with 3/4 thick MDF). Anyone care to double check my #'s to make sure its good before I have my box built? edit: 12" x 13.5" x 8" looks good. Looks like I've got 2 possible boxes to work with.

How would it not be stable? Its working right? I forgot that you really wouldnt run an amp at a ridiculiously low ohm load in a daily setup.
