A guy I work with has (2) 12" Hifonics Brutus in a sealed box. He said he would give them to me for $60.00, do you think this is a good deal? I have not seen them yet, he will be bringing them in tomorrow. I am not to concerned with how they will sound. I will be getting my new setup in September so basically they will be used in the mean time. Onlinecarstereo.com has them for 119.00 Ea., I am thinking that I may even be able to sell them for a profit when i am thru with them. I know I said I dont care how they sound, BUT have any of you guys heard them? What would you compare them with?

  7. We plugged up one port hole in a box I had laying around the shop and dropped an NS 15 in there to see what would happen. Good times I think we've had too much fun this weekend. Also did a video of a 149.5 run -- my clamp did not register in the video for some reason... but when we did the 149.7 run I clamped 2500 actual watts. VIDEO :

So last night I took around an hour or so to write up some huge review on my new pair of 18'' Sound Solution Audio Xcons. Unfortunately there was a url glitch and the thread is gone, so I will try to sum up my product review instead of another 5000 word essay. The SSA Xcon is an amazingly solid driver that has absurd amounts of low end output (on little power might I add) and still acts incredibly responsive, the sound quality of this sub does not hold back its ability to "get loud" one bit. I feel that the Xcon is a very under appreciated driver in today's market, so luckily for you all interested in this sub, I'm taking more time to write this second review. My enclosur…

  13. x2. He makes a good point on running a smaller battery bank because it's going to be on a stock alternator. The alt will not be able to charge those kinetiks I'm open to suggestions would 1600's be good or smaller. I'm still learning so use detail.

  14. Any driver put in the recommended enclosure and built well will make any sub sound good. If you want sound quality then you wouldnt be worried about a sub right now you would be worried about your front stage first. Subs arent comparable since they are usually made with a different goal in mind, what one will think is good sound quality may not be to another person.

Its 4.5" LENGTH after the corner of the port. Not width. It's stilll 5" wide. Nice design! Not talking about the length that is given. 15.25" port wall + .75" for the second wall = 16" 20.5" of internal depth - 16" = 4.5" away from the rear wall. Not to mention if it was 5" from the back it would be tuned to 34hz

So first off I would like to say that I usually never write product reviews. In fact, even with all of the car audio equipment I have owned in the past, I still have never wrote a single review. Fortunately for you all, the SSA Xcons prompted me to give it a try, simply because these drivers are too well made and under appreciated for me to stay quiet . I feel like the Xcon is a solid piece of equipment in this over inflated balloon of a market car audio sits in. So with that being said, let me fill you in. I started off with a 14^3ft enclosure with three 6'' aero-ports tuned to 27hz. A little foam... A little vinyl... And that's the enclosure. Now originally I had tw…

  20. I ordered two 12' Fi BL's a week ago and it said they were still processing it. They won't respond to my emails and they don't give a phone number to contact them with. This cost me a lot of money.. when can I expect to see a tracking order? Or a full refund if I don't get my subwoofers. A bit nervous.
