hey guys, this is probably a noob question, but i have an 18" fi q in my car with the bp option. i have it hooked up to a hifonics 1610 1600watts rms, i am running about 1200 (i set it with a dmm). its in a 6.3 cubic foot box after displacement, and its tuned to 31 hz. my question is, why is it that when my doors are open it sounds alot louder than with the door shut. opening the windows helps when im driving, but its getting cold and i wasnt sure if there was anything i could do to make it loud with the doors and windows shut. any help would b great. thanx.

It isn't a sub. Not sure how you do math. 3" port 1.5*1.5*3.14 is NOT 28sqin and obviously 3" dia << 6.5" driver On top of that I am not sure I understand what you think you mean by unloading. That driver will KILL a 2" port if you are letting it wail unless you like chuffing that is.

lol... well deep loud bass is ur goal witch is nice, what kind of car do you have? how much trunk space are we looking at? the BTL is a great drver and will bring you the deep loud bass you want. it comes in 12" 15" 18" so you need to decide with what size you want and you also need to make sure you have the electrical upgrades in ur car to handle one of these monsters. so let us know more of ur goals and trunk size and budget for amp/sub combo and we can give you alot of good ideas/answers. good luck

I have one enclosure to finish this week if the customer is still willing to wait. I have recently started a job inspecting commodity grains, so I only have two days per week to do installs. Therefore I will only be able to build one enclosure per week. At the moment I have roughly 15 enclosure requests. Hopefully I will be able to get with these customers this week. If anyone has any questions and you can't get a hold of me. what speakers can u guys recommend that are 250$ or less for my front stage. im gonna have to fi bl's off a aq2200d amp. and i wanna be able to hear the vocals. the speakers will be ran off a alpine mrp f300 bridged gettin 150 watts each. also i plan on going passive. so any suggestions?

For a box that will yield a .47 cu ft overall I got these dimensions: 12.5" W x 11.5" H x 9" D (outside measurements with 3/4 thick MDF). Anyone care to double check my #'s to make sure its good before I have my box built? edit: 12" x 13.5" x 8" looks good. Looks like I've got 2 possible boxes to work with.
