I recently purchased a 12" Q powered by a hifonics 1206D at 1 ohm. its in a 2.87 cube box tuned (according to my cabin) to 25Hz. its in a 96 4 door blazer. up front i have dayton classic midbass, dayton reference midrange, audax tweets powered by a couple cheap amps (until i can afford a quality 6ch amp) and my crossover is an old PPI frx-456. HU is kenwood excelon kdx-589. using knukonceptz klarity kables for main RCA's and dayton audio rca's from the crossover to the amps. 1/0 wire all around, even big three. i love my Q. it blends so well with the rest of the components. and so looooooooow

What's the intended application? If you're really serious about the best possible sound, be prepared to spend some money and do some serious planning.

Randy and everyone else, As you know this thread has been one hell of a roller coaster, mostly a crazy downhill roller coaster. Randy, unfortunately after trying to figure out what we are going to do with your 16v setup, there is no possible way to get those alternators internally regulated and charge at 16v. The XS VCM doesn't work with these alternators. I sat and tried to get the VCM to work with no luck. We think it has to do with our alternators being 6 phase versus a 3 phase unit (this throws the frequency off on the alternator versus what the VCM is used to seeing). So this throws off how the VCM interacts with the regulator. Again, this is just speculation on the …

A few takers so far. Remember, if the list is not full by the end of May this won't be happening for 2008.

I said that statement. Reason why i stated it is simply because if that has partially damaged the amp, then you can see why the protect light may be malfunctioned. I'm not stating that's what happened but until the amp gets tested, we can make speculations until the truth is found.

What's worse is at the bottom of the screen where it shows who is reading this topic, it shows the guy is reading it, but is not responding for some reason. Go Figure. Dude if you really have a problem, just pick up the phone and call, it works, I am sure because I just got off the phone with another customer. I need to get back to work....

who said anything about impedence drop ! impedence rise due to box rise dude, box rise! when coil gets hotter , its resistance increases (coil is made of metal isn't it) - Pick up Loud speaker Design cookbook or go meet an electrical engineer ! Just having more no. of posts on one forum doesn't bend the rules of science . Do one thing, buy a good multimeter (or borrow it from that electrical engg. ), set it to measure the resistance, play a decent song with variable low ocatves and see what actually happens outside WinIsd - you'l be surprised what you know till now.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good car audio shops in Ohio (Columbus would be best) that have worked with Fi audio before and could do a custom wall for 2 12" BTLs and probably 2 TD20001 r/f amps. I like competing in meca's car shows (SPL) and i don't think i should do the box like originally was going to. Thanks
