A guy I work with has (2) 12" Hifonics Brutus in a sealed box. He said he would give them to me for $60.00, do you think this is a good deal? I have not seen them yet, he will be bringing them in tomorrow. I am not to concerned with how they will sound. I will be getting my new setup in September so basically they will be used in the mean time. Onlinecarstereo.com has them for 119.00 Ea., I am thinking that I may even be able to sell them for a profit when i am thru with them. I know I said I dont care how they sound, BUT have any of you guys heard them? What would you compare them with?

the guy above you thinks the TL is a joke and for good reason, lol. but at least the TL's technology is out there, in the open. this new little meter is like a previous post mentioned, mexican jumping beans. so, air pressure flaps the metal inside the box converting it to electronic signals, in it's most basic form, yes? if that's the case, wouldn't it be suspectible to everything a thin piece of metal is susectible too? heat? cold? expansion? contraction? just some random thoughts from an uneducated old guy. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

You don't have pricing listed for 8" enclosures, I would assume they're just about the same as a 10" enclosure?

Thanx for the replie, my problem is I have 16 8ohm subs so I can either run strapped at 2ohm or run like a 3000D at .5 ohm and even though I keep reading they can handle it I am not a big fan of running at .5ohm dailey, especially since here in Vegas it is between 115 and 120 degrees for 3 months out of the year. I currently have 300 watts to my subs and my goal for the system is 150 and right now I am sitting at 149.7 so I don't need alot of power to get there thats why I was hoping for 3500 watts strapped at 2ohm. Randy and everyone else, As you know this thread has been one hell of a roller coaster, mostly a crazy downhill roller coaster. Randy, unfortunately after trying to figure out what we are going to do with your 16v setup, there is no possible way to get those alternators internally regulated and charge at 16v. The XS VCM doesn't work with these alternators. I sat and tried to get the VCM to work with no luck. We think it has to do with our alternators being 6 phase versus a 3 phase unit (this throws the frequency off on the alternator versus what the VCM is used to seeing). So this throws off how the VCM interacts with the regulator. Again, this is just speculation on the …
