I appreciate the replies , guys. Thank you. I mean zero offence when I say that I gave this a lot of thought and I'm very comfortable with my questions. Reducing weight isn't a matter of debate; it's that or nothing. Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to upload a message.

What do they do that's not presently covered by the current manufacturers? Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a small home audio (or theater, either really) company here in the future. But they need to bring something unique to the table.

Guess I better sign in here, since I already posted somewhere else first...oops. I have severe GAS(Gear Acquisition Syndrome).... Was MECP certified in High School. Installed throughout college, both home and car. Got out of the game in around 1998.... I collect mostly Zed, Orion, and Phoenix Gold amps...few others like the Alpine 3566, and the Denons with the funky heat sinks.... Also collect speakers...favorites are the JBL "1000watt" pro based drivers, and Orion carbon fibers. Would love to find some of the old Autotek subs....the ones with the BTS logo on the dust cap. I know they arent anything special(regular oem speakers), but just the fact I havent even seen…

He was referring to me, and I assume ca.com is Caraudio.com? Which I have never been a member of, so I couldn't stay there. And I will say I'm sorry if people take some of my posts too brashly, but I have a short fuse for people who ignore the fundamentals of loudspeakers. There is nothing mysterious about them, only the voodoo individuals attach to them. I tried to answer the question without using blind faith ("yeah the specs are just right") and assumed too much. My bad.

ALTONS PM TO ME. did i not help some of you. if im being a dick trying to help guys please let me know. i am only here to help. PS alton, i know a decent amount about car audio. ''I saw your recent posts on the SA-8 pre-sale thread and wanted to talk to you without cluttering up the thread any worse. Real Aero ports are already flared, both ends. I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to help someone out. I'd just really like to know how many years of REAL installation and fabrication experience you have to be giving advice and judging other peoples designs. I have been building and designing enclosures for quite literally more than half my life and don't go …
