I'm interested in one of the 1500s, i'm assuming since they were used by team sundown theyre not too beat up, but is there any way i can have you hold (if you still have them) one for me until the weekend of May 30? Parents sure aren't gonna loan me a few for something they find stupid, so i have to wait until i have the money then. its too much power that blows subs and it's distortion and i've never broke in subs. I've gave them hell from the first day. I'v still got a set of jl's that are 7 years old.

I could pull it off without any problems, don't know why you would waste what the amp is capable of. 4ohm nominal gain up somewhere,......... or 1ohm gain down. But thats me, you can do what you want. Just like when i had my TC Sounds db-500 12'' rated at 400rms I was sending over double that and never had problems or smelled coil once ever.

unless you run into problems with the coil heating up and the ohm load going up to the point were the sub gets less power ... I dont see how you would not be able to tell the gain from the extra 1000 watts... its a btl.... Just dont play it to high < aka over heating coils and dont play it to low < snapping lead wires... I seen alot of people run 3k to the triple stack btl's and the style before the neo's say what you want but alot of people are doing it... and there subs dont even get hot...

With that being said, how many studios have you seen in a car and with a car's unique acoustical limitations and changes. I realize it's unrealistic to have it sound exactly like being in a studio would. That was more or less a figure of speech, meaning I want to achieve the best SQ as I humanly can and have it sound as close as possible, to what the artist Intended it to sound; with having to mortgage my house. Maybe my kids college fund would be ok but not a the house. Now that I think about it the cost of college is the is about same as or more than the average Americans house. Changed my mind, I want to do a middle T-shaped port now. Here are the new specs and diagrams. 3.65cf net per driver, which is within Fi's range of 3-5. Port area is 16.41 in^2 per cf, above the 12-16 recommended by Fi because there are TWO drivers sharing the same port. Modeling with WinISD puts port velocity within the range of the 23-30 m/s I'm seeing with Fi's recommended enclosures, so I think port area OK. Also, I'm going to be using a Sundown SAZ-3500D, so I'll be running with 3500 watts at least, not 3200 as in the thread title. Opinions please before I potentially waste a LOT of money on materials?
