What's the loudest single 15' sub you've heard in a daily setup?

So far I have: Hyundai Accent GT: gutted, stuffed with 65 cans of expanding foam, 14 gallons of bondo that need removed from the windows and redone by welding sheetmetal instead. 320lbs of 3/4"mdf for the false floor, ceiling, doors, roof, dashboard, and subwoofer chamber/wall. I had 5 1gallon buckets of Spectrum Firewall...sold 2, trying to sell the rest, and a 5 gallon bucket of Spectrum Sludge...trying to sell that too. 6 Optima Red tops...getting 2 more. An Audio Control 6Xs, getting a second one when i get the crossovers so I have 2 bandpassed signals and 1 HP, all at 24dB/oct, then using deck/sub amps to cross the subs. 2 Vifa XT25TG30 Ring Radiator Tweets, a KX200.…

As for the process of going Active I understand that part, my definition of going active is letting your headunit, processor or amp's crossover capabilities control the speakers frequency range. Instead of using one speaker to play a wide range of frequencies you can split them up into a 2-way sytem (midbass/midrange and tweeters) or 3-way system (midbass, midrange and tweeters); where each speaker plays its own certain frequency range such as midbass, midrange and highs. I just got a Sundown 3500 and two 15"xcons. When ordering I said I wanted the subs to be 2 ohm then I run both to the one amp and that would be a 1 ohm load. But ssa said no I want two 1ohm help please.. Do I have the right subs being built?? Thank u guys

Sending the Zcon off for a re cone, really excited to get it freshened up and back booming. Will be re doing my build also. Planning on new amp, wiring, batteries, and box. Maybe ill do a build log this time around but dont hold me to it lol.

Ok well here's the scenario: I am running a 15" BTL off of a JL Audio 250/1 (not the v2 one). On the amp along with the power light and protection mode light it has a light that is labeled "low Ohm" with the little ohm symbol. This amp's lowest rating is 1.5 ohm. My woofer is wired down to 1 ohm. But i figured it wasn't a big problem. OK so here's the problem - just now I noticed that on a certain note of a song (Lil Jon-Throw It Up) the light labeled low ohm blinks. Then i noticed sort of a popping sound coming from the box. my car lights flicker when running my sound system 15 if q 1500wrms with soundstream rubicon 2500 sub set up at 4 ohms = 800-900wrms for amp....the ground is secure and in a solid place metal to metal.. what else could be happeneing. my bass knob is turned only to middle when this happens meaning is probably hitting at 600-700 wrm.... i checked my car battery and its fully charged duralast gold wich is bigger then optima yellow top.. and i also have a kinetic 600 on back they the lights flicker when my subs hit high sounding bass. uuggh can only imagine whats going to happen when i connect the subs down to 1 ohm meaning 2500 watts rms when summer is over. Alright my budget is around $800 and i was wanting to get Fi Subs. I really like the SSD's but i think that may be out of my budget. So i was wondering if the Fi.X's are any good? If not then i want to go with the SSD's And i was wondering what amp would be great at running these at 1ohm stable.

ok So ive been looking at build logs for awhile been on a member on ca for a while just never really posted anything. They'll make you wanna choke em some of the shyt they do. But i work at best buy and we get a pretty good discount on the speakers and stuff. So im trying 2 decide between a rf 1000bd thousand watts at 1ohm or an alpine mrp 1000 thousand watts at 2 ohms gonna get p3's or type Arghhs 12's. Just dont know much about either brand i've only owned kenwood excelon. Heard some rf stuff in my unkles tsx they where pretty loud, But i kno that the alpine subs atleast are over rated but the amps i hear get hot quick. Hopefully i dont get flamed for not having pics…

Spoke with Nick @ IA this morning. Customer service there never ceases to amaze. Anyway, got wind of some pro audio woofers coming. I can't say when, but I'm pretty stoked. Also a new Flatlyne coming. I'm glad they're branching out and expanding as a company. Congratulations IA! Now send me 2 of the new DR 12's, and 2 of the Pro Woofers. LOL

I met a guy at a competition a few days ago that had some sound deadening tape and I was wondering where i could get some. it wasn't like dynatape that's just the aluminum tape but it actually sound deadening properties. I figured it be nice for a few places in my durango where my sound deadener is too think. Any idea where I might be able to find a product like this? I did a google search and all the ones I have found appear to just be aluminum tape. Thanks guys!

So I am going to do an upgrade and was wanting some feedback on how it will do. The upgrade with consist of 2 ssa icons in a a 32hz box which I would like to have a 3.5cu ft after displacement of .16 x 2 from driver with a crescendo bc2000d and will run of 4awg power and ground til I have the money to get a spool of 2 or 0 ga wire. I'm a bit confused on the rms rating of the icons since they only show 1250rms but no info on peek, which I would like to know how far I could push them. well i got jacked for my system a while back. 1 week my HU, next week my amp, left the sub couldnt get it out or didn't want it. now i want to do my do an SQ system. The only thing i got are some 6.5" on the doors and a HU. i'm going to do it on my 01 Sierra reg. cab for the sub i wanna get a Fi Q 10 or 12 not sure yet. what does a SQ System consist of ?

Can someone explane what these charts mean? i don"t understand what these mean but the first cart being the highest at 50hz makes me think that i won't be able to hit lows well. i listen to slowed music 90% of the time i just want loud and low. i don"t really care about anything above 50hz or so. box is a 4th order 2 cubes sealed 6 ported tuned to 60hz 90sq in. of port. if i am right about not being able to hit low how can i change that? lower tuning, make chambers smaller? (8 cubes is the most space i have so can"t make chamber bigger without making other smaller)

Would this be the proper way to hook up an extra battery? And will the power still be sufficient with the distroblock option 1 option 2

Has anyone done an install on the new style '07 Camry? I assisted a friend in adding a sub in the trunk of his wife's car and we connected the amp turn on to the interior fuse panel. This car has some very tiny fuse terminals. The car started having some electical issues (ie: gauge cluster malfuntioning). The dealer service dept stated that the connection we made damaged the fuse panel and had to replace it. We've both done it this way many times on other vehicles and we didn't force any connection or break anything. I don't know! I was looking around at mp3 players and trying to figure out what would sound better on my car stereo system. Came upon this new mp3 player called cowon j3 Koreon device just came out has eq and all other kind of stuff on it says its a SQ mp3 player also supports flac files. . One thing i found out flac files are the best sounding type files and ipods dont support them. Is this the real deal or can find something similar??? the price of it is cheaper then the ipod(Not that much).
