  3. both are regarding my amp(s) and/or system. 1) whenever i have my car running, the voltage on my sub amp used to read around 14.2-14.4v, at idle. now its only reading around 12v, at idle, which is what it used to read with the truck off. which brings be to the second problem regarding this. now instead of my amp going into protect mode at 10.5v like before, its dropping down to 9v on the display. i highly doubt that its going that low. i havent touched any of the settings since i tuned it with the DMM. im not sure if its the display thats messed up, the amps reading thats wrong, or if im actually dropping that low. btw, the amp is a ma audio hk4000d that i bought off of …

  5. Okay I've been on these forums and have been looking at a lot of box designers and box designs. I was just curious to find out how much everybody paid for their enclosures/ sub boxes? This is not for the experts who can make their own boxes though your expert quotes are welcomed. This is for those who don't know and are learning how to make enclosures and had to pay lol. Also state if materials were included or not. If possible give the length of time it took. Pics would also be a plus.

Alright guys so today i sold my 12" bl and am awaiting my sa-10's. So for now a buddy let me use his little 12" hifonics sub to hold me over until mine arrive. But i honestly dont know what i should do with the subsonic filter now since iv always ran ported lboxes. I have an aq2200 and the ssf goes from 10hz-50hz, so what should i put it at or does it not matter where its at?

I have decided that I am open to trying a 6th order blowthrough for my XCON and will pay someone to design something for it. I currently am doing a ported box with a small adaptor over the front to channel it in through the ski-port but have been reccomended to just try a 6th or 4th order, I love the sound of 4th orders but the XCON is not so suited for that so a 6th order would be the go here. I am after a response resonably flat between 28hz and 50hz or so and the port has to exit pretty much central to the width of the box. The port can be external by 80mm at the top and about 110mm at the bottom and have max dimensions of W:320mm X H: 185mm (Internal Dimensions)…

OK. so I am just about decided on the new sub project. I have a jeep cherokee, with (2)mb quart qsd 6" sets, running of off an orion 8004. I have a optima yellow top under the hood, but stock alt, and wires from alt to bat. I want.... to run two 15" havocs off of a Orion 2500D. I'm going to run 1/0 under the hood, and to amp. and get ho alt. my questions are... #1. How big of an alt. do i really need, as anything over 240-250A gets spendy. #2. How many/what kind of battery's should I put next to the 2500d? optima? kinetic? #3. Are batcap's worth a damn(once again, mixed reviews)...? I have heard mixed reviews about the optima's, but Ive had mine for almost a year n…

Does anybody else run their mids and highs with their head unit? I would get a separate amp but I'd need to upgrade my electrical beforehand. I have re 6x9s in the back and stock in the front and its really not loud at all....to be honest the stock Charger SXT head unit sounded great but since I switched it the panasonic head unit its really not as audibly sound.

  13. More and more lately I see more and more ROE members, most that are 15-21 that have probably never owned used or seen halfway decent equipment giving advice on which sub is better or amp, box etc. And the people asking these questions are honestly looking for an honest answer from someone knowledgeable that has either use seen or has worked with "x" product. I just see WAY too much this sub sucks or this is better when they've probable never heard seen or used any.. sorry to rant just my 2 cents... Joe...

So today I had a buddy of mine helping with the BIG 3 in my truck. He accidentally hit the positive termninal of the battery with a grounded ratchet. When I Asked if he had disconnected the power wire for the amps he said no. I checked the inline fuse and the fuses at the distro block.... all was good so I hoped for the best. When we finished up and turned on the truck... nothing. After much testing I have determined the 2 USA-50 to possibly be toast but the USA-200 seems to still be good. So unhooked the amps, hooked up the 200 and still no power. When I test the power wires and grounds at the amp i am getting something like ~3 volts WTF. On a side note one USA-50 seems …

So I decided to actually measure my cargo area in my Trail Blazer last night. Guess I'd just been lazy and not got around to doing it previously. I was making my enclosure and driver decisions based off what I had seen in other Blazers and similar sized vehicles. I planned on doing two 18s and now I'm not sure I can. I want to keep the box at a reasonable height so I can still see out my rear windshield. My max outer dimensions are 44.5" wide, 27" deep, and 23" tall. I could go a little taller but I'm already sitting higher that the rear seat with 23". I have a notch measured for the bottom front corner edge of the box for the batteries. It looks a lot like Meade's box bu…

Ok, 1st question. Ive heard of making cement lined enclosures where you basically build and enclsorue inside and enclosure, but what about cement enclosrues where the outer enclsoure is ment to be removed and the cement finsihed off liek they finish off cement counter tops? Its reletively cheap to finish cement counter tops, you can make them smooth like glass or retain the cement feel. I dont have any plans to do such a thing but im just wondering if anybody has though about doing this or has already dont this. 1 1/2 80lb bags would probbaly be what yo uwould need for a moderately sized enclsorue plus reed bar and that wire stuff...so all in all your moderately sized enc…

My dad was looking to buy me a sound system for my birthday, i am looking around, he immideatily eliminated the idea of a subwoofer, so now i have a head unit and new speakers, and an amp (if necessary). I drive a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. I was going to buy with him today, Alpine CDA9886, 1 Alpine SPX-13 REF component set, 1 Alpine SPX-17 REF component set, and to power those speakers i was going to use a autotek SM4-800. I was wondering if this set up would be good, and if the amp would be adequate power for the speakers, i think it goes 100x4 @ 4 ohms.
