I have a 15.5 cu ft trunk supposedly.... thats Manufacter specs of my 1996 Taurus. How many Sq Ft of damplifier should I get to cover the Walls, Lid, and Floor completely? How ever much it takes will dictate which Damp I get. if 20 sq ft will do it I AM A get Damp Pro but if a little more than that is needed Im going to get 40 sq ft of regular Damplifier and just add a second layer with whatever I got left.

I'm kinda new to car audio. Right now I'm just running a sundown e8v3 on a boss armor 1500 which actually puts out the ammount I need. Anyway I really want to upgrade and be loud. I'm not about spl and hitting high dbs more about music and perceived loudness. I can work with about 3.5 cubic foot box. I'm considering either a fi q 18 or a fi bl 15. I just need advise on which would be better.

Well where to begin? About 3 months ago my friend nick decided to get a blow through installed in his '98 tacoma reg cab. The aaudio shop he went to installed 2 memphis 12's not the mojo but the next step down. His box is each sub in a 1.2 cube firing at each other into a 3.5-4 cube space. With a port that extends out from there into the cab. Needless to say it sounds and his like @$$. Well, you guys have any ideas how to make it better both sq and spl wise, and no a match and gas isnt an option. Any ways I was thinking one 12" or 15" in 3-3.5 cubes ported. with the sub and the port facing forward to go through into the cab. How does that sound? We are starting …

Wasn't entirely sure on what section to stick this one in... So i've seen a few companies that make these "bass shakers" (mostly Aurasound.) I was wondering if anyone had any expereince with any bass shaker. I am by no means interested in buying one, just more or less curious about placement and effectiveness. If you ask me, they kind of sound like a stupid idea... but what do i know. They kinda look fun to play around with... but not for how much they cost.... and do they shake different for different frequencies or....? it's all confusing to me. thanks!

I am wanting to 'build' a center channel for my h/a system. I have a pair of CDT CL-5's 4ohm to use. I am thinking, wiring them to 8ohm and build a small cabinet for them. My question is on the crossover. Is there a xover kit, or a decent xover out there to buy, that I can mount inside the small cabinet, that can handle the 110w my Pioneer VSX puts out? Dont really know what my budget would be, but I surely dont wanna spend too much, or I'd just buy a speaker on ebay or something. I have looked at parts express, and see some 2-ways...I guess I could just use the high pass side of one of those? Or, could it be as simple as just getting some 'bass-blockers' for the…

  11. Hi soundsolutions it has been a while. Life has kept me extremely busy with school and work and not to mention I now have a baby girl on the way. I had a SSD 15" and a zx750 and I ended up selling the sub for rims and traded the 750 for a t-1000 which ended up toasting itself somehow.. long story short I have nothing.. I really don't want to spend more than $300 for the sub(s) and amp because I am strapped for cash and I just want some kind of low end nothing crazy. Size is somewhat of a issue, the 15 took up my whole trunk and I can't afford not to have trunk space anymore so a single 10" or 12" with like 4-500rms would be optimal. I will be building the box myself depen…

Forgive me if this is in the wrong section, I figured "General" was most appropriate, feel free to move if it's not, just don't flame me too hard. Yes, I know this has nothing to do with sound! With that said, I want to add a backup camera onto my truck for my Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of options out there. I believe CCD gives a better image than CMOS. Just not sure even where to start and what to look for, if anyone is experienced in this department. I mean, Christ. Look at it. Same amount of options at Al & Ed's, SonicElectronix, Pacific, WoofersEtc, etc. http://www.al-eds.com/Back-upForward-facing-Cameras-c439.html Thanks.

QUESTION: When an "Alternator Manufacturer" gives you an "Output at Idle" number - What do you want to hear? Most people just want to hear a high number and they're happy from that point on out.... Until they have 12.4 volts at a stoplight and 14.8 when they drive... Do you think they have been “deceived” lied to? The industry standard for an "Idle output" test is 2400 ROTOR rpm. That's approximately 800 engine rpm if you have a 3:1 pulley ratio. It’s been that way for years...& as far as today that number should really be 2000 Rotor RPM instead of 2400 because crank pulleys have got way smaller on most vehicles which makes the "Outpu…

I want your guys opionion about everything because i am new to the game and i know you guys are some of the best around and have a crap load more experience about anything audio than i do. need some help to come up with net volume and frequency for this sub. my friend will be running 2 of them in a blowthru and space is not an issue. the gray line is the rsdc (2 of them) with 1200rms, the red is 2 12" AA arsenals w/ 600 rms, and the orange is 2 12" l7s with 1200rms you can get the specs from the image if you like pg recommended, according to someone on pheonixphorum.com, specs for ported are 2.5 cubes per sub tuned at 23.28 hz. (spl secs are .8 cubes and tuned very high... like 50 hz iirc...) as you can see i bumbed it up to 24.5hz. but i still think this looks very low. i also notice you run out of xmax @ 600rms per sub.

ok im probably just being dumb but i tried searching and no answer. I have 2 subs and one 4 channel amp. my question is how do i wire them? i have everything connected however im confused as to how i should wire the subs to the amp. do i put them as front or back? also i dont know if i should plug the RCA cables into the front or back. i tried messing around with different options and i get mixed results. for some reason whether the subs are wired to the front of back it doesnt matter where the RCA cables are plugged in. now heres the problem, only one of the subs seem to be working. the other one will barely work but just sounds muffled. when the one that does…

I'm having trouble finding any build logs on this phone like his. What have others done? No doubt he needs to build one just want to do some homework before sending him off. Thanks

anyway, a little back story, I sold this sub to a friends brother, he brings it back to me and says the sub is blown and figures I could use it. with a little inspection I noticed a few things. the tencil leads were coated in the normal wire cover thingy that some subs use (red and black wires), well, the wires will still pretty much covered, but there are spots that seem to be missing wire cover. and the Positive wire is pulled out of the terminal a little (meaning it needs re-soldered) and this 18 has a dual spider setup right? the top one is glued on a big ring about a quarter to half an inch tall. anyways, the top spider seems to have pulled itself off of the ring pie…
