I have one question only, dont hate just answer I am deciding between the BL 12 and the Icon 12, I know these subs are made for somewhat different applications but jus bare with me. Both these subs are put in ported boxes made specifically to standars and hooked up to a saz-1000d. Which one is audibly louder?

Been reading lots of sketchy reviews about these lately. American company takes over and then quality goes down? Heard from a mechanic that if you buy these from autozone they are significantly different than from manufacturer

I am hoping to updrage my chit duralast to a optima yellow top. I was wondering if i can do this with a stock 70 amp alternator? I dont know much about electrical and need an opinion whether this is safe.

Looking to start buying the pieces for my next build and im fairly sure im going to be using a bc2000 to power it but as far as drivers im pretty split between a few options. I want to be able to get really loud at around the 30-33hz area and really loud period but no a complete loss of musical ability. Going to be a daily driver build. Mainly been looking at either 2 15" ssa icons, dc level 4s, fi bl's or 4 sa-12s. Im leaning toward the sa-12s right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey guys just a quick qustion. I was digging through some old amps I have and i found an old school orion hcca 250 digital reference 2 channel. On this amp there is a clipping indicator, Should i trust this light? how accurate is it.? Also i have a rubicon with the same thing.

what do you guys think of that sub?? a while back i blew out my terminators out of my box..hooked up 5k watts lol i turned it up the low hit to hard and bam!! they broke.. i want a cheap sub for the terminator box it came with.. i have a rockford fosgate amp to it 250 rms at 2 ohms has anyone heard the orion cobalts? the new ones??

Someone wants to sell me their 15" HCCA with a decent probox brand sprayed ported box. Seems kinda small tho. anyway he wants to sell it to me for $200 with box. Also he is selling a Boss 5000watt. i just wanted to know what is the correct way of using oscilloscope to set amplifier gain. 1. Do you scope the amp with the speakers connected? or just hook up the scopemeter to the amp speaker terminal? 2. What test tone to use to set subwoofer amp, midrange amp and tweeter amp? Will 50hz and 1khz be sufficient? I do notice that if i set amp gain at 80hz and then play 50hz test tone, the amp output is clipped. So how low on test tone frequency shall i use for sub amp? 3. For music playback, is it better to use 0db test tone or -3db / -6 db for gain overlap? thanks

Ok, so I've done a lot in car audio, and have used a dmm to set gains before, but it was a cheap one from radio shack and i don't feel it was really worth crap even using. Never blown any speakers, but also know I've never had a perfectly correctly set gain on an amp. I just do it by "feel", "sound" and performance. natural abilities you may say, complete crap you may even say! lol but hey it's worked so far but i'm tired of trusting myself. What oscilloscope has anyone used? know of? how much? where? and what will do the trick/be best for setting gains? Thanks in advance i'm very interested!

So I sold my system and vehicle about 2.5 years ago for a Infiniti G37S Sedan with the factory Bose system. It's been holding well, but I got the urge for some bass recently. I know what i want to do, just not sure on equipment. Amp will be integrated with stock system using Bose amp inputs in the trunk. The factory IB 10" will be removed from the rear deck. alright alright... i posted all my optimas for sale here localy here lastnight while i was drunk... i woke up and my email was full of people who want them.... so ill have some funds for new ones.... i have a friend here in town that has 4 optima yellow d 31a's... they are the largest... a normal yellow top like i have now is 55 amp hours.. these d31's are 75... 300 amp hours with 4 or just pick up two new dekas.... 100 amp hours each... so 200 amp hours ...... i have about 250 amp hours as it is now.

Alright, bought this woofer from a noob to this site. sub arrived VERY promptly, with EXCELLENT packaging. (thanks rog2961 !) Now, some of you may know I am NOT an ed fan. But this price was fantastic. ok so my friend asked me to pick out some options for his first system. he has a 05 impala stock batt. he is not worried about sq; he just wants a daily driver.about 300$ for the subs and i told him to get a ap 1500. seats fold down he is not trying to seal off the trunk. he wanted 2 p1 15s i told him not to do that told him get 3 ia 187 12s, 1 ia li 15 , 2 rex 12s, or 1 15 fi bl. is there any other suggestions i could give him. i also told him to get a new batt. he is not worried about taking up the whole trunk, also the icon 15 was suggested.

Has anyone ever used one of these? I bought a used amp, and it didn't come with a bass knob. I heard about these. If anyone knows, do i still set my amp gain like normal?
