I currently have an iPhone and eventually I'm going to ditch it for something else. I'm undecided at the moment as to what I want to actually get, but its probably going to be a Samsung or Sony Ericsson music phone. ANYWAYS I have a DEH-P600UB and it has a USB cable, with an iPod cable in-line with it. I hook up my iPhone to the iPod cable and I control all my music from the head unit. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has tried this with a phone other than an iPhone and has been able to control their music through their head unit. I don't want to use the AUX port, I didn't even bother hooking up a cable to it. You all probably know what I mean just from the title but…

I have a cobalt that comes with the battery in the trunk stock. It was grounded to a piece of sheet metal that was spot welded to the wheel well. I had to remove said piece to fit the 2 extra kinetik hc16v running off the second alt. Any way i have all the batteries grounded with 2/0 to one spot (sheet metal) and the amps hu and processor are also indirectly grounded to the same spot. The only thing audio wise not connected to this one spot is the second alt which is grounded in the engine bay instead. Even as such I've experienced tons of ground loop. So the past few weeks I've spent rewiring my car and doing some tricks to eliminate the ground loop. The hard work paid o…

Installed a 10" IDQv3 and JL 500/1 for a friend last week in 2008 G37, signal was provided from Scosche LOC connected to rear speaker leads, then 2 pairs or RCA's run to the front to a PAC Level control, 1 in, 1 out. At first we used the crappy JL signal sensing to turn it on, and after he would shut the car off especially when closing the door, he would get the loud feedback from the subwoofer, almost like it was just playing a test tone. I went and bypassed the LOC for him using a 3 foot rca, and hooked up the REM to a switched power lead on the car hoping that would help. While it isn't doing it when he shuts the door now, it's doing it sometimes when he changes songs …

I have a JL 450/4 that was quite a good amp, but the other day two channels burned up and now only two work. I'm not sure if I should run with this amp again or try something different and possibly better. I was thinking of putting in a single FI Q 12" in a ported box with a Sundown SAE-1000D. I've never used their amps before, but they seem to be well respected. My setup currently is as follows: HU: Alpine IVA-W200 Front: Focal Utopia 6.5" (older model) Rear: Focal 690 CA1 (6x9) I looked at the Sundown 100.4, but I'm not so sure the output will be enough. The JL put out more and the speakers handled it fine and sounded good. I'm just looking for a possible alternat…

I recently purchased a new car, one that I would actually be proud to put some money into and I am looking into buying some subwoofers for some extra thump when it comes to my car's audio system. I am on a tight budget knowing I am a college student. I would not mind having two subwoofers, but I know that would be extra money, so even just one sub with an amp would make me very happy. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good sub and amp. I dont need top of the line equipment, I just want a sub with some good sound that wont hurt my pocketbook too much. Thanks guys!

Hey guys whats up I am looking for suggestions.. I am very open to Ideas. I have an 18" Q in a 7.1cu. ft. enclosure running @2 ohms on 2000W rated...bout 3/5gain... 3x 4" Aero's, all 14" long. Its in a 99Nissan Maxima I am pretty happy with its performance, but I am looking for just a little wiggle room, and right now when im playin the Q at max volume, is where I want my wiggle room, so......I don't know if I should try tuning a little higher to get a little more output, or if im choking my trunk.... I was thinking of a few other ideas... trade the Q and get A. and HDC318( if they makeone) B. An 18" BTL C. 18" RE MT D. 2x 15" Q's (if i have enough room to port them) …

Ok i am looking for a song that is constant 35hz or really close for at least 30 seconds. I compete in MECA driveby kinda like bassrace except for its metered outside the vehicle. I cannot use test tones or chopped and screwed music that someone has made. It must be a commercially available cd that anyone could go out and purchase. Thanks

I'm thinking of a pair of W6v2 13.5's sealed. Would a Sundown SAE-1000D be proper to power a pair of those? It's going in a 2006 Corolla Type S. Right now I have a ported Icon 15 powered by a JBL GTO 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms and a Batcap 800. I want to switch my system up to a sealed setup and think the W6v2s sound awesome. So I'm going sell my amp in favor of the SAE-1000D and do the big 3 and replace the Batcap 800 with the one of the bigger Odyssey drycell batteries and a solenoid. However, I'm contemplating on what to do for my front stage. Which would be better out of these 3 choices. Choice 1: A good componant system in the front door…

This is the formal announcement that the speaker and amplifier company Dr. CRANKENSTEIN has started building products again. We shipped our first product last week in the states. Our efforts have most recently been spent on our home theater loudspeaker company where we were quite content, but due to the ongoing requests from CRANKENSTEIN followers, young and old, we went back into production of the car audio pr…

Ok, when I bought my speaker from my friend he gave it to me in this small, crappy made sealed enclosure and i need to take the apeaker out, not necessarily right away, but eventually it needs to come out, but the problem is is that 3 of the 8 screws are stripped, so i need a way to take it out without damaging it, o and the surround is made of metal not rubber. Any ideas?
